United Micro sent me an Intel OEM P4-2GHz CPU installed on an ASUS P4S533-VM motherboard. I ordered & paid for a Retail CPU. Plus the installer had a rubber band crushed between the CPU and motherboard thereby causing loss of contact between the CPU pins and slots, so it did not work.
In addition, somebody had written "2.0" in magic marker on the CPU, thereby voiding any Intel warranty. The CPU was banged up, too.
They did not answer my email and hung up on me when I phoned them.
“Hello
There was a few days backorder on Generic CDROM drive and we had emailed you.
4/16/2003 Tried contacting over the phone- Backorder email sent
We cancelled the order on 4/21/2003 since we had not heard from you and product had not come in
Accept our apology due to this situation”
