OpticsPlanet does not stock a lot of merchandise, but their website will always show it in-stock. Their customer service reps are trained to say that this is because they have many warehouses and can't keep up to the minute stock status. In my opinion, this is not the true reason. It's because they're mainly a drop-shipped business. This may workout for some customers, but most customers like to know that when they buy something, it's shipped in a reasonable amount of time. If something is actually not in stock, customers want to know that so we can look elsewhere.

There is nothing wrong with a drop-shipped operation, as long as they are up front with it. In my opinion, OpticsPlanet is dishonest with their business practice and they've lost many customers doing business like this. That's the bottom line.
