Buy.com used to be my favorite online store, although less frequent shopper these days. Think their "marketplace" approach with different vendors helps with selection and price but likely causes large variation in service/support.

Most recent experience still positive. Wrote this review since was somewhat surprised as to how low the company was rated which does not match with my experience.

My go to place for electronics. Have yet to have a bad experience. Have returned items before and the whole process went smoothly.

After purchasing speakers, was contacted by Audioholics to inform me one speaker was backordered and attempting to sell me a different inferior speaker or wait until December to have speaker shipped. Just a few days later, upon visiting site, the original speaker I ordered is still available (for a higher price than I payed). They thus are having me wait in order to sell existing stock at a higher price.

Furthermore, unable to reach Audioholics at their customer support number. The multiple times I call, I just leave a message. Ordered on 10/27/11 and as of writing 11/2/11, still hasn't shipped.

Update 1: 11/2/11 - Shipping confirmed for "non-delayed" portion of my order.

Update 2: 11/4/11 - carefully written response from company states product on backorder, but does not address why product still listed as available online (and with status saying "usually ships within 24 hours" - thus seems deceptive)

Update 3: Website has been updated to reflect backorder status. This has been my first dealings with Audioholics, so unsure if honest mistake, but I'm happy to find out the customer service reps where at least telling the truth.

Purchase made on 8/21/11. When it had not arrived by 8/30/11 went online and website stated that expected arrival date was 8/28/11. When I called hp, was on hold for over 2 hours before reaching an agent who had no information, would not let me talk with a manager, and suggested I wait till the shipping department sends me further information.

Purchased from small business website. Received order the following day with a link that suggested the order would ship out and arrive approx. 1 week later. I tried to call to find out status when the order failed to arrive and waited on hold for 2 hours to get a operator who said they had no further info, that the hp tracking website info was incorrect, and there was nothing more they could do.

Fry's accepted my order for a Logitech Harmony 1100 remote. Then they cancelled the order unless I contacted them immediately by phone. Upon calling them on 12/5/2010, I was on hold for ages and finally managed to speak with a representative who confirmed all my information and asked me to please be patient in that it would take a few months for the order to arrive due to backorders etc. Upon calling emailing recently I was informed that I had missed the window. I called and once again, Fry's has informed me that my order will not be honored. Despite having no incoming email in my inbox or spam box, they claimed they emailed me recently re-requesting a phone call. I supposedly had a two week window to call again and confirm my interest. I did not get any email informing me of the need to call again. Really crappy. I've passed over a number of other sales since I expected to get the Logitech Harmony Touch Screen remote.
Addendum: After writing this review, I was called AND emailed from Fry's that they will honor their commitment. Crazy that I've wasted so much time on this, but delighted to be getting the remote. Upgraded from a 1 star to 2 star (somewhat dissatisfied).

Despite placing order and paying extra for rush, cyberpower was unable to deliver. When I called for clarification neither person I spoke with was helpful. With Amazon providing 2 day service, not sure why they can't get a computer to me within a two week window.

If you need to customize, and you're willing to wait, their prices are right. Only about 10% above building it yourself - which looks like the lowest markup of any place I looked.

Also did have a person answer the phone - which was a nice surprise. Not a helpful person, but a person!

Ordered a WD Live Plus and they shipped me the older media streamer from WD. Furthmore, when purchasing I had the option of selecting from a variety of options with certain missing items. I specially chose one missing a few aspects, but the streamer arrived without power or any attachments.
Thankfully customer service was helpful and accepted return - with refund. Just not worth it now that I see how common this complaint is.
