It's sad when you haven't even dealt with a company before, and you are unsatisfied before you even receive it. I placed an order for a Refurb pair of Sennheiser HD228 headphones. They had a insanely good price on them, considering they go for more than twice the price on amazon new. I paid extra for expedited shipping. They shipped in about 1.5 days (their refurb description on amazon stated ships within a day).

Once tracking updated to where I could check it, I come to find out they shipped it first class. Since when does expedited shipping = first class, in anyone's book. Their amazon listing guaranteed shipping within a day, regardless of shipping method. To any rational person, expedited shipping would be an upgrade from first class to priority, or UPS ground, to 3-day.

I basically paid extra to wait 3 days for an item to ship from florida to florida. Moral of story, don't opt for the upgraded shipping option. You're only putting money in their pocket.

I will update my order when I receive the actual item.

I purchased a Dell Latitude C610 Laptop with a 1.2ghz Pentium 3, 38.2GB Hard drive, and 1GB of memory from this company. The order process went well, and they quickly answered a few post-order questions I had.

When the laptop arrived, everything was included that I expected to be.

There were, however, a few things that disappointed me. The laptop had a few spots on the LCD that would not wipe off with my finger. This can only be seen when the monitor is off, or on a solid color background, and do not really effect the video.
Since the laptops they carry are off lease, most of them were at one time company pc's, and as such, they bear an asset tag. These tags need to be removed, or rendered unreadable before the laptop is resold. The asset tag on the back of my monitor was totally mangled. It looked like someone took an ice pick and went to town. The rest of the outer case looked very good, but I have to look at an ugly gouged area where the asset tag used to be. I expected there to be some marring, or scratches where the tag was, but not scratched to the point there was a depression in the case. I can not necessarily blame off lease computer for this, as it was probably done before they received them. Just for reference, the one I received was labeled as a Class B for condition, and aside from the above it was virtually flawless.

The battery I also received was completely dead. My particular battery has a test button where you can check the capacity level. Pressing this, even after sitting in the laptop plugged in for a day, shows nothing. Their site clearly states on every product page , and was verified by email, that batteries are as-is, so again I cannot fault off lease computer, it's just an observation.

Overall I am happy with the purchase. I got a laptop that more than works for my uses, for a fraction of what I would pay for a current model laptop of the same quality. If you are looking for the cheapest price on used laptops anywhere, and will trade cosmetic defects for price, you know where to go.

I have placed 3 orders with this company. Every one, overall, went very well. With my second order they were out of stock of two items. I had to go back and forth a few times with a customer service rep due to some language barriers. She spoke English, but wasn't really sure what I was asking. They kindly offered to substitute whatever items I wanted, and I would pay the difference.

Less than 2 weeks later I received my order, as is the case with my previous orders. Every order has gone fairly smoothly, and I am sure I will make many future purchases. There are hundreds of additional gadgets on their site I'd like to try.

For those of you that don't know, this company reportedly used to be called AxShop, then changed to FifthUnit. The two main owners then split off into two separate companies, which now sell similar/competing products. Since that change, both companies have drastically improved their customer service, quality of items, and shipping times.

I ordered a La Crosse BC-900 Charger/Analyzer from Thomas Distrbuting through a link that shouldn't have worked for $39.97. This item showed as In Stock on the page I ordered from. I continued browsing their site, and when I clicked on the the charger later, I noticed a different price and a status of "Not in Stock". I contacted them to see what happened and received an email stating that the BC-900 was back ordered until the end of the month (about 3 weeks!), and that the page I ordered from should not have worked.

The next day I received a call from someone at Thomas Distributing apologizing for the error in the listing, and offering to ship me the Maha MH-C9000 FOR THE SAME PRICE! For those of you that don't know, the BC-900 is a baby analyzer compared to the features of the MH-C9000. The C9000 was also about $65 at the time. Thomas Distributing took a $25 loss just to keep me a happy customer!

With all the freebies they normally give away I also ended up with...
Eveready Keychain Flashlight (FREE with any order)
2 8-Cell AA Battery Holders (FREE with order over $25)
another 8-Cell AA Holder (FREE for signing up for their newsletter)
Deluxe Storage and Carrying case (FREE with the C-9000 charger for limited time)

And there were more bonuses I didn't even expect in the box...
2 Nexcell Single AA to D size battery Adapters
2 Nexcell Single AA to C size battery Adapters
4 Sanyo Industrial 2500mAh AA's ($9.97 on their site)
4 Sanyo Industrial 1000mAh AAA's ($8.97 on their site)

I did not order anything but the Charger itself.
Absolutely Amazing! They went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied, and they didn't even have to. Any other store would have canceled my order and told me to wait. As a result they have earned a customer for life.

They are a relatively small company that really takes care of their customers. They kept me informed during the entire order process, and actually sent an email when the order shipped. Not many larger companies bother to do this any more, and it really makes a difference. They also asked me to follow up after receiving my order, to ensure everything went smoothly.

I purchased AA size NiMH batteries. They offer a small selection in this size, but what they do offer are premium quality batteries. Their prices are out of this world, especially after the fact that they offer FREE SHIPPING on many items. I was looking for battery retailers that offered free shipping when I found this company. Shipping is what destroy a good price on a small order of batteries, Not Here!

This was my second order, and it went just as smoothly as the first. All of my future orders will also be with Battery Bob.
