3/5

The Review (below) is how I felt, but immediately after being posted, I received a phone call from NewEgg offering me next-day shipping, for free, to appease my frustration. I'm pretty amazed at that. I am leaving my review unaltered (below) so you can understand the story, but have since changed the star ratings I had given. Again, to get a phone call from NewEgg and offer to send the item to me Next Day Air, free, was above & beyond the call of duty. I will order from them again. Good job, Mark!

Last month, a customer service agent showed herself to be an idiot, and ignored all the important information I was conveying, taking me on a roundabout. I could say more about that incident, but the following is more on my mind now:
Forget about free shipping from NewEgg, unless you don't mind waiting a very long time for your item.
I placed an order for a RAM chip on a Monday and accepted free shipping. Tennessee is only 4½ hour car drive from my city of St. Louis, MO. NewEgg handed the item to UPS, who then took the item in the opposite direction to Georgia. Then, it flew over and past St. Louis to Kansas City (another 5 hours clear west of my city).
There, it has been sitting for the past 5 days!!!, ready to be handed over to the US Postal Service to finish the job. The USPS reports that they still do not have possession of the item.
If NewEgg had simply stuck the 1 ounce RAM chip in an envelope and sent it first-class mail, I would have had it almost a week ago.
Or if UPS had finished the job they started, I would have the item. NewEggs free-shipping is a joke of logistical understanding.
I had wanted to do some testing (Before and After) images on my machine and post those images before leaving for a trip to China in a couple of days, but that ain't gonna happen now.
So beware about NewEgg's "free" shipping. It's costly.
