When my CD player in my car broke, I found HiFi Sound Connection selling it used for a very reasonable rate. I placed the order, but when the stereo arrived, I found that it was not even remotely the correct stereo (it was a tape player radio for an Acura, I ordered a stereo with CD changer and climate control for my Subaru). I contacted HiFi to let them know of the error and to try to get the right part.
The first person I spoke with (Ray) was rude and not helpful. They were so generous to finally waive the 20% restocking fee after I complained about being financially responsible for their error. All I wanted was a return label so I didn't have to pay shipping. They were out of the stereo I needed, so they finally agreed to a refund and said they didn't need the wrong part back.
After nearly a month, still no refund. I called again and the second person I spoke with (Eric) was very helpful; he confirmed that the refund did not go through. At this point, I noticed that the stereo I needed was back in stock and he personally went to the warehouse, located it, correctly identified it, and it arrived a few days later. I'll be installing it this weekend. It arrived in decent condition (it is nearly 6 years old so not mint but certainly acceptable) and at this point I feel as though the company has rectified the situation.
