I have learned my lesson. Next time I order magazines from an online company, I will research reviews on that company first.
On May 31, 2008, I placed an order for a subscription to Canoe & Kayak. I received an invoice stating the estimated delivery date of the first issue would be 8/24/08. When I received no magazine by 9/02/08, I tried to call their toll free number. I got an automated message talking about a conference call. One of the options given was to speak to a representative and when I chose that option, the call disconnected. I tried two more times and I was disconnected each time.
I then filled out their online form for a status inquiry and received an email saying they would check into the problem and respond within two days. A week went by with no further response.
I contacted my credit card company but they would not do anything because the charge was past 60 days and I was instructed to write a letter. Most likely because too much time has gone by, the credit card company will not be able to help me.
Beware this company. They are a rip off! Don't throw your money away....order directly from the magazine you wish to order. Yes, they might be more expensive that way, but at least you are dealing with a REPUTABLE company.
