We shopped around for a specific, large, custom size Himalaya Isfahan rug and found the best price (plus no delivery charge) at rugsdirect.com. We understood that this rug was not in stock when we placed the order and accepted the fact that our credit card was billed in full for a rug that was to be delivered at a later date. We charged our purchase to our American Express card since AMEX offers the best buyer protection in case there was a problem with the rug or the merchant.
Initially, our rug was supposed to be delivered 45 days after we placed the order. Our rug was made in Belgium and rugsdirect.com kept us informed about the delivery date changes through email. Although we were disappointed that the rug delivery was delayed twice, we understood that this was an issue with the manufacturer not with rugsdirect.com. The rug finally arrived about 130 days after we placed the order. The rug was shipped in very protective double-packaging and arrived in perfect condition.
We are very pleased with our purchase and with the customer service communications from rugsdirect.com during our long waiting period. Based on our experience, we recommend that you call rugsdirect.com about the availability of a rug BEFORE you buy so that you are not surprised or disappointed about a possible long waiting period.
