When I lived in Alaska my battery died in my truck and I shopped around online to find a retailer that didn't gouge me on shipping just because I was in AK. I found 4wheelparts.com, which touted free shipping on their homepage. I added the Optima Redtop to my shopping cart and my total showed free shipping. Excellent! After I placed my order I saw that I was charged $20.90 shipping. I gave them the benefit of the doubt hoping that my card would be charged the correct amount.

Five days after I placed my order I still had not received any order confirmation or shipping update. I emailed customer service and was provided a tracking #. Shortly thereafter I received the battery. It had been shipped in a timely manner, they just didn't take the time to notify me.

When the charge showed up on my credit card, the shipping amount was included. I emailed customer service reminding them of the free shipping banners all over their website and stated that I could not find a policy anywhere that said they charged extra for shipments to AK. I honestly can't remember what happened after that. I received no response from customer service. I don't know if they refunded the shipping or if I had to file a claim with my credit card company.

I do know that a year later the Redtop would no longer hold a charge. I contacted Optima first and was told I needed to contact 4 Wheel Parts. I emailed them and was told simply that I had to call their warranty department and a 1-800 number was provided. I prefer to deal with customer service through email because there is a paper trail. I didn't take the matter any further.

I purchased a new remote start at ABC Warehouse and had it installed by one of their professionals. The advertisements say if you buy a remote start there the installation is free, but that's only if you buy one of the cheapest models that doesn't have door lock/unlock capabilities. I'd expect the products with that feature to be pricier, but they charged an extra $40 to install them on top of the initial price!

As for the remote start and the install I am quite pleased. Even though I chose their second cheapest model I have yet to find the limit of the range. I've started it through a window and across a filled parking lot from 200 yards several times. I've started it inside a hospital through many walls and thick concrete when my vehicle was parked in an adjacent parking garage. It's been three years since the install and I have not had any problems with the starting unit or the vehicle. My only want is that I wish the battery in the key fob lasted longer. Other than that I wish I had done it years sooner.

This was the first time I ever visited Alice.com and I don't know why I hadn't heard of it sooner. I found the site when searching for a good cough drop I can't find locally (Halls Defense with zinc, vitamin C and echinacea). Alice.com had the best price plus free shipping. And fast shipping too, I found out. My order was placed at 10:47am and scanned at UPS at 8:52pm that same day. I was quite impressed with the whole transaction.

I've ordered from Amazon.com dozens of times. I generally have excellent results. I like the fact that they'll ship my order in groups to get it to me faster and don't charge me anything extra. I always order at least $25 worth of items so shipping is always free.

My only complaint is they grossly overcharge sellers that sell items in their Marketplace. For instance, I listed a used book for $2.19 and later found out Amazon charged me $2.67 in fees when I sold it. That's crazy! For inexpensive items it's as if I'm paying Amazon so I can sell it.

I ordered from American Promotions several months ago and the product they sent was not what I was expecting. Apparently they recently started offering the option of small orders to individuals rather than just selling large orders to businesses and they hadn't yet gotten all the bugs out of their online listings. They admitted the mistake went above and beyond to correct it. I've never dealt with any company that went to such an extent to make me a happy customer. And that's not an exaggeration. I can't help but rate them 5 out of 5.

This review is about AT&T's lack of customer service and how they ruined my otherwise blemish-free credit score. I had just moved to a new place and I ordered AT&T internet. The modem was shipped to me, but it never arrived. Tracking info, however, said it was delivered to my door. I was home the entire day it was supposedly delivered. I never heard a truck pull up and my dog never barked. AT&T would not file a claim for the lost modem. I cancelled my service within the allotted time and they sent a bill for the modem to my OLD address. I didn't know the bill existed until several months later when I was about to leave for Basic Combat Training with the Army and I saw the collection on my credit report. Not that I would have paid for something I did not receive anyway.

I tried contacting AT&T customer service, but their best methods for contacting them are only for current customers. When I would send general inquiries to customer service I was ignored. This was in early 2009. Since then the unpaid account has been sold to two more debt collectors and each time it was sold, the date of the debt was updated so it looks as though it was recent. I don't know how it's supposed to fall off my credit report after 7 years if they keep updating the date. Thanks to this once instance I will never use AT&T for anything! Not internet, not phone, nothing.

As a seller, I'd much rather use Auction Arms than GunBroker. The site moderators have never gotten me caught up in their petty BS on Auction Arms. I've had the same account for years. It's more affordable to list items too. As a buyer, I've been able to find better deals on items since there isn't as much competition.

Wow, the price sure went up since the last time I shopped for a used car. In 2010 I paid $15 for a single report and in 2008 their price was $25 for unlimited reports for 60 days. This was in comparison to Carfax, which I believe was $30 for only 30 days. Now Carfax doesn't even offer unlimited reports and AutoCheck charges $45 for 30 days and $30 for one report! Can it be that their cost of doing business has gone up that much in a matter of a few years? Of course not. It's just greed and a lack of major competition.

There are a couple other companies that offer single checks for a lot less than the major players (eg checkthatvin.com, instavin.com), but AutoCheck seems to be the only one that still offers unlimited reports for a certain number of days, which is the only service I would find useful when shopping for a used car.

After my grandma locked her keys in her car with it running, I ordered an unlocking kit online (Lock Technology LTI140). Automotive Tools Online had the best price for the kit I wanted, and I searched dozens of websites before ordering. The website has multiple methods to make payment including Google and Amazon checkouts.

I received an order confirmation after placing my order, but no shipment notice. And the website has no account section to log into to track orders. The order arrived in a timely manner, but providing tracking info is a convenient industry standard. This was my only complaint throughout the process.

My first order was the first time I browsed the website. I ordered a replacement fender for my Tacoma. The priced shipped was cheaper than I could find anywhere else, including eBay. I received confirmation of my order and it was shipped the same day! I will definitely shop there again.

This was my first order with ACOT. I lived in Saginaw, MI for two years and never knew they existed until I found them online. My order was placed Aug 9th and shipped Aug 11. A Fedex tracking number was provided. The items were packaged professionally and securely. I signed up to receive the ACOT newsletter (and I do receive a lot of them) to keep me up to date on promotions and sales. I'm sure I'll be using them again.

This review also pertains to Roadkill T-Shirts as they are the same company with the same contact information. I placed my order on 20 December 2010 using the online deal they'd been offering me for months: buy 3, get 3 free. Shipping for all six shirts was $16. A little pricey for a light package, but the total for each shirt was only $10.16. I figured for heavy weight t-shirts that wasn't bad.

On 23 December I received an email from mike@roadkilltshirts.com offering me a new deal of buy 3, get 6 free. The email included the following: "No one can touch this deal and right now the others sites are saying, 'WTF!' My reply, Well, that's how I roll, bitches." I immediately sent an email saying I would have waited to place my order had I known they were going to offer a better deal 3 days later. I received no response.

According to USPS tracking info, my order was dropped off at the post office on 27 December. I'm hoping the delay in shipping was due purely to the holiday. Once the shirts arrived, I was a little disappointed with the quality. I wouldn't consider them heavy weight as promised on the website. They're better than the paper thin t-shirts from Walmart, but really more of a medium weight. The white shirts are slightly see-through. I've gotten better quality from Cafe Press.

In sum, shipping is high, quality and customer service could be better. I probably won't buy there again as it would be hard enough to find another 6 shirts I would wear, let alone 9.

Bad shipping practices. Poor customer service. Extremely unprofessional. Couldn't believe they way this seller acted. Will never deal with again. No bargain is worth it. Should have looked up the business on Google. Rip Off Report for fraud on file.

I used to order items all the time from Collections Etc and then I stopped a few years ago when they stopped sending catalogs after a move. I remember when their catalogs used to say "Everything under $14.99." That price kept increasing and now they sell all price ranges.

I recently placed two orders for several Christmas gifts. Both orders shipped within two business days save for a backordered item that I knew about before placing the order. That item shipped a day before they promised and arrived in time for Christmas. The one thing I think they could do better on is the shipping confirmation. They send an email when the order ships, but you have to log into your account to get the tracking info. I wish they would include it in the email. I decided to sign up for their discount club and I've saved the cost of the membership already.

I think it goes without saying that most of the items they sell are cheaply made in China. That's how you get such low prices. The overall quality can be hit or miss. I bought a really cute salt box for my Grandma for $15. The instructions say it will hold 30 pounds of salt, but the bottom is so flimsy I'd be surprised if it holds 15 without breaking. The same item at a craft show made with quality materials would easily cost $50+. Occasionally you'll get shorted a hinge or a screw, but if you want better quality, shop somewhere else and buy American.

When I first got into hunting, RedHead (Bass Pro's hunting brand) was my favorite catalog. The prices were better than Cabela's. Somewhere along the way Cabela's saw much better success and their selection grew much larger than what Bass Pro could offer, and consequently, their prices were lower due to buying power. I still find the occasional deal with Bass Pro Shops that Cabela's can't touch. I'm sure I will be a lifelong customer because of that.
