Terrible People. MAJOR SCANDAL. I had just gotten my paycheck from work and finally had enough money to buy a nice lens. I had a camping trip coming up and wanted a nice new lens ASAP. I was planning on buying the canon 24-70mm 2.8L and after doing a little google searching, i found that skypointdigital was by far the cheapest source to buy from. I placed my order online, they shoot me an e-mail telling me to call them to confirm the order. I talk to a guy named chris and he tells me that i don't want the canon 24-70L 2.8, i want the sigma 24-70 2.8 dg macro because it has SUPERIOR IMAGE QUALITY over the canon "L" series lens. (*i'm all about image quality) Also, he says because i wasn't shooting a full frame dslr, i wouldn't be happy with the 1.6x factor. I was thrown back. (*the sigma 24-70 is also meant for full-frame, but i didn't realize it at the time) The voice in the back of my head told me that something wasn't right as he was telling me these things, yet the conviction in his voice gave me reason to ignore my conscience. Stupid me. I ended up spending just over 1,100 bucks on this lens that was only selling for 600 on amazon. I was panicked when i saw how bad i f'd up, so i called him up again. When I tell him i want to return the lens, he feeds me a line about a 25% restocking fee and how amazing the sigma is and that i just made a great buy. ... it's now been over year and i'm still pissed about the scam they pulled on me. I'm trying to sell my sigma now- looks like the value of this lens is now only $400. There's a 700 dollar loss. Stupid Stupid SkyPointDigital.
