I decided to build a new desktop computer. I buy most of my hardware from Newegg.com (great outfit to deal with) I researched the mother board and then the CPU. It came down to the Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H MB and the ivy bridge i5-3570K CPU. On Sunday 4-29-2012 I found a deal online advertised by Micro-Center for that mother board and if I purchased the Intel i5-3570K CPU (great price $189.99 vs Newegg's $249.99) they were taking $50 off the price of the mother board. Now it was $139.99 for the MB and $189.99 for the CPU... got an email confirmation within minutes and it said it was scheduled to ship on 5-2 2012. Keep in mind I now have about $1500 in hardware and need the mb and cpu to test everything. On 5-3-2012 I called customer service, after waiting 35 minutes on the phone the rep. I spoke to said they are overwhelmed with orders and could not give me any eta on a ship date, better yet could not even confirm if I would get the order!
I left my phone number and was told someone would call back tomorrow (5-4-2012) No call, so I called, that gal told me that the problem was the CPU should never have been put online for sale as they never sell CPU's online... (the deal was on there site Sunday, Monday and Tuesday!, but they were going to honor the deal... not convinced that this was very truthful I called back a few hours later and spoke to another rep. now I was told the mother board was out of stock! I counted at least 26+ in the stores on there website? she told me they are not setup to ship from any of there stores. Well I called back on 5-4-2012 and again spoke to a rep. that again could not tell me if I would ever get this order... frustrated I canceled the order and asked to speak to a supervisor... had to wait 10 minutes to speak to a supervisor and he was all full of apologizes, after looking over all the calls in there log claimed a supervisor was never told I was requesting a call from Micro-center... He offered some kind of gift card and wanted me to keep the order open, I refused the offer and informed him I have never dealt with a company with such a disorganized operation. I have dealt with online vendors for years and this company, Micro-Center is by far the WORST I have ever dealt with and I will never do business with them again, and will go out of my way to recommend to others to stay AWAY!!! Got off the phone with him and went right to Newegg, yes I paid more but in five minutes had a confirmed order and 10 minutes later a shipping email with tracking number... forgot to mention before I made my first phone call I tried the online chat and what a joke that was, I was again given no help or information regarding my order... am I upset? yes, and very surprised that a company that is dealing with all this high tech. computer gear has a system that is right out of the flintstones... well that's my story and I hope that your listening Micro-Center and maybe you will clean up your act for future suckers...
