I always believed that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. For that reason, I was very skeptical about buying a warranty for my new PC from SquareTrade. How, I thought, could SquareTrade offer a complete warranty on my PC for about one-third of what the store would have charged. I also feared losing the "carry-in" service the store offered. I was wrong on all counts! Right after the Manufacturer's warranty expired, the DVD drive pooped out and had to be replaced. Square Trade told me to take it to any local computer repair store and send them the bill which they would reimburse up to the total cost of the new drive. My first choice was the Office Depot, where I had purchased the PC. They wanted me to leave it and it would be ready in about 2 weeks. Well, was I happy that I did not have a store warranty because now I could take my repair anywhere I chose. The local repair center I then chose, told me to have a seat and it would be ready in 45 minutes. They also gave me a quote for about 50% of what Office Depot said it would cost. In less than 45 minutes, my pc was ready to go with a new DVD drive installed. Now, the next challenge was to see how long it would take to actually get reimbursed by SquareTrade. I emailed them the receipt and about 24 hours later they notified me that the full amout had been sent to my PayPal account. What a nice experience. Thank you Square Trade. You guys get a AAA+++ from me.
