Ordered an HDMI - DVI cable via Amazon from one of their affiliated resellers/alias'. Cable was priced well and shipping was prompt. However the cable does not work between my computer and television set. It works on my monitor fine but oddly my television does not recognize the computer input.

Upon contacting their customer service, and explaining the situation, I have yet to receive a coherent response. The first e-mail I received did not address anything my e-mail mentioned but simply asked for my order number. I re-iterated the fact that I purchased it through their reseller and added the order number. Their next e-mail was simply that they could not locate my order number and again ignored all the details of my reply. This went back and forth a couple times, ignoring all my questions. I'm convinced the customer service representative "Mamie" doesn't understand the least bit of English. I will not be shopping with Eforcity again.

First off, I made an account just for posting about Deal Extreme. Before I decided to purchase from them, I heard so many good reviews with warnings of their slow shipping. Slow shipping in return for cheap prices sounds fair, right? Well, I have had quite a bad experience with Deal Extreme since I decided to place that first order.

On 7/18/07 I placed an order for the R4 DS which listed as in stock. The order seemed to be going through the order process over the course of the week("steps 1-4") as if they had the actual product and it was getting ready to be shipping. However, the process halted at step 4, and I waited about another week till I decided to contact that and find out what the hold-up was. When I contacted them, they told me that they had no idea when the product was going to come in and that I could substitute my product for something similar, get a refund, or wait and see if my original product would come in stock. Well, thanks for letting me know about this a sooner, but it seemed like a believable problem, something understandable.

I told them to go ahead and substitute my R4 DS for a Super Card DS One. The representative who I was in contact with told me no problem and that he would switch my order. Now, my newly changed order (same order number) goes through the steps again (over the course of a week) and halts at step 4. I wait a few days and contact them and ask them why my new order is halting when presumably the substituted item is supposed to be in stock? They told me it wasn't a problem and it would be shipped shortly. A few days later I get an e-mail stating that all R4 DS orders were canceled and refunded. Sure enough, my newly changed order that was completely changed from the R4 to the Supercard was canceled. I e-mailed them complaining and asking why was my order canceled, Randy was supposed to take care of this. They profusely apologized, offered me a free gift (oh boy a usb charging cable for my ds...) and told me to place my order again.

So here I was, almost a month later back at stage 1. I checked the status of the Super Card DS One, it was still in stock, so I placed the order. I closely followed the status of my order, everything seemed to be going smooth, got to step 4. Waited a few days, and it shipped. I was relieved that that it seemed so effortless this time. I waited another week or so for the shipping, and finally my package arrived. Guess what? No, no Super Card DS, just my free gift. I checked the order status, and guess what? The status of my Super Card DS One was still "ordering" which I should have noticed when they first told me that my order was shipped.

Now I checked the Super Card DS One and it says that it's back-ordered. Deal Extreme has left me completely in the dark and essentially left me to rot. If they didn't my cancel my original order and Randy did his job, then I wouldn't have had to wait another 15 days to find out that my item is not in stock. If you decide to try to take advantage of their cheap prices, my best advice is to confirm stock of items you wish to order, and cross your fingers.
