“I'd never bought from them before, but I trusted the BBB rating, and the product was as advertised. I bought a download version instead of a physical product, so I cannot comment on the shipping, etc., but everything went smoothly and quickly--no delays. The product I bought comes in a number of different versions, so I had some concern that it might not be the version I wanted, but it was. I will do business with them in the future.”

“I have ordered a number of times from Kalyx over the last 5 years, and I plan to continue to do so. They are not the fastest shipper on earth, so don't hold your breath, but they do have many items that are virtually unobtainable elsewhere. It would definitely improve their shopping experience to re-master their website. It has good information, but the fact that they use so many "fulfillment centers," each with separate shipping, makes ordering a nightmare. If I order one item that is, say, only available from center "C", then I'd like to be able to easily make the rest of my order only from that fulfillment center. If all the items are available from separate "fulfillment centers," then I'd like to be able to quickly and easily see what the order would be if I were to choose all from one versus all from the other. Their customer service does not always respond to questions, particularly product-related questions. They never responded to my query of 8/5/11 regarding an herb that was not as described (not their fault; it was the manufacturer.) I sent them a photomicrograph of the product in question which should have demonstrated that it was herb instead of an extract (order 54613).”

Kalyx.com rep has responded

“Thanks so much George for you continued support. As you say, we “do have many items that are virtually unobtainable elsewhere.”

We get our ever-expanding depth of product selection by electronically tying together disparate warehouses. As you point out, some warehouses are faster than others.

Speed of delivery is very important, and most of our warehouses are very fast, but in the case of bulk herbs that must be packed per order from 25 kilo drums, or special ordered from a remote warehouse, a few days must be allowed for order processing. That’s how we get our depth of product selection.

Warehouse delivery speed is listed in the Shipping Info in every item description.

Best wishes,
Dan Russell, ceo”

“I don't pay much attention to the deal of the day kind of emails, but my Wired subscription was getting ready to expire, and Dillyeo had a one year for $5. Even if it overlapped an issue, that would still be cheaper, so I went for it. I should have smelled the sulfur when I opened the email. I paid on October 17, 2011 4:23:56 PM, and, as of 12/31, the order is still shown as "processing." Their customer "service" has so far ignored my email queries done through their website contact form and via direct email. It's my fault for not paying attention; I had thought they were aDealio, and didn't realize those are two separate companies, so little do I pay attention to that sort of thing. Gosh, they didn't even kiss me! Update: they finally did respond on their website, stating "there will be a waiting time of between 8-14 weeks. This is absolutely normal. There are occasions when magazines take up to 20 weeks." The subscription actually DID finally get activated: my first issue arrived 2/16/12. Maybe having filed a dispute with PayPal helped. Having had a previous subscription with Wired, I had contacted Wired also; they claimed that the delay had nothing to do with their end. Dillyeo claims that "there are some hurdles that we must jump in order to get this amazing bargain to you." Hurdles? In the information age? Do they have to engrave the data on stone tablets and carry it to Wired by donkeyback?”

“I have been shopping at Vitacost for almost 10 years, and have never had a problem with them. I don't like their advertising, because the amounts listed for their products both on their website and their product labels are "per serving" not per capsule or pill, which makes it difficult to compare different products. I am also wary because of the source of their products; ConsumerLab reported finding lead in their turmeric extract a couple of years ago, which means it is probably from the PROC. And their customer service does not respond at all to questions about product quality, at least to me. They do respond to other customer service issues, and they do resolve any issues. They are a member of the BBB. They sell name brand products at a significant discount compared to most vendors, and I continue to buy some things from them for that reason. I don't think it is reasonable to fault them, as some reviewers do, for the problems that are the result of the way UPS does business, which UPS has done to me also. The simple cure for this is to get a PO Box, which is how I get most of my vitamins: cut out the problem of UPS leaving it out for people to steal or leaving it in the hot sun to degrade in the heat. The other cure for it is something I am forced to do with some shippers when I can't avoid dealing with UPS: leave a sign on my door that tells UPS to leave a notice and hold the package at its facility for me to pick up. Looking through my file cabinet, I find order #571055 on 12/30/03 as the earliest order I can find with Vitacost, with at least a couple of dozen orders between now and then. Vitacost's shipping is very fast and efficient. ”

“Zazzle makes beautiful stamps from my photos. Its online editing tools make positioning the photo on the stamp easy. My stamps are better looking than those from the USPS! Zazzle has extremely fast service.”
