With heavy heart and a sincere sadness that is coursing through my rather lard-laden pendulous body I wail to the stars above that Djangos is no longer selling its wares via the Web.

After several years of most-excellent transactions Djangos is now a mere memory of days gone by.

Ordered by 800 number. Fast, efficient. Their Web site ordering system was having difficulties the day I ordered but got through right away via their toll-free number. Vio offers free UPS ground shipping on all orders placed through the Web site. I mentioned it was not working and they extended the free shipping to my phone order. Cool!!! And.... they upgraded the free ground shipping to free 2nd-day air UPS. Wow!!!! I'm impressed. This was my first order with this firm. Before using them I searched across the Web and found the vast majority of mentions were positive. Well, I'm adding to the positives. If I need software in the future I will check with Vio first to see if they have the product I need. Having been an on-line buyer since 1996 I have learned how to be a fairly-qualified judge of firms by how they conduct business. From what I have seen with this first transaction with Vio I feel confident in giving them a BIG thumbs up and feel no qualms in recommending them to others.

Used Norton anti-virus for several years. No problems. The old anti-virus engine would not assimilate new anti-virus signatures so I was forced to update to the 2004 version. Bought then downloaded from the Symantec site in the early AM hours when Web traffic was minimal. Fast, complete download. Installed program. What was once a fast stable machine with the Win98 SE O/S turned into a constant BSOD. To bring things back to normal required a scrubbing of the hard drive and reinstallation of EVERYTHING!!!!!!

Symantec did refund the payment EXCEPT for the CD-ROM I had ordered as a back-up for the program. Symantec's convoluted non-user-friendly site informed me that even if returned unopened I could not be reimbursed for the CD_ROM containing the program that would not operate as it was supposed to. The Uniform Commercial Code declares a product sold must actually work. Symantec knows it is not worth going to court over the matter. I will NEVER buy ANY Symantec product again and will warn all I know to shun the firm.

Heads up. I purchased a Nokia 3585i cell phone from the local cell phone service provider. There is NO warranty card included in the box. Nokia wants us to register on-line. I went to register and was unable to. Why? Because they require my PERSONAL PRIVATE cell phone number!!!!!! That is not required to warranty an item. I believe there are federal laws covering this area.

I am on the federal "do not call" list and the constant flood of unwanted calls stopped. Hooray!!!! But, there are loopholes to the law. If I give my phone number to a firm in the course of doing business they CAN call me even if I do not want to be.

My cell phone is for emergency use only and I am on a strict budget. That is why I opted for the "per call" plan at 35-cents per minute. The phone will be used ONLY for emergencies. I can not afford to have Nokia or their sub-firms calling me. I refuse to give out my phone number. Thus, i can not register for the warranty and will not receive any recall notices.

If I knew Nokia required my PERSONAL PRIVATE phone number that I pay for I would never have bought their product.

Purchased the official GMC factory manuals for a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up. $135 for a five volume set that weighed 18 pounds. The manuals are perfect for the person wanting to do their own maintenance and repairs. The order was shipped quickly and arrived in a few days via UPS. The manuals were in perfect condition thanks, in part, to the perfectly-sized cardboard box they were shipped in. The trained apes hired at UPS to load and unload the boxes must have forgotten to toss the box with my manuals against the walls this time!!! :)

Helm did the job right. Shipped merchandise in excellent condition and got it to my door within a few days. I suppose UPS has to get a little bit of credit for not damaging the box or its contents.

As far as I know Helm is the only source for original GMC service manuals.

I have made purchases from Amazon several times over the past 5 years or so. Every time, the items arrived in a timely manner and arrived in good condition. No problems with the ordering system and the correct amount always appeared on the credit card receipt. Though the pricing may not be low I do not use Amazon to save money. Instead, I use the firm for convenience and to grab items that I can not find locally. I have seen the same items on other sites for a slightly lower amount but went ahead and paid Amazon's higher price knowing the order would be sent and that the chances for billing errors are minimal.

Dec 2005 update: Used Amazon again. Bought some Xmas presents. Did the shopping early to avoid the close-to-Xmas logjam most firms face during the Xmas shopping rush. Items purchased qualified for the free shipping deal. I was pleased that the items arrived sooner than the time allotted for the free shipping transit period. Though I could buy the items for slightly less at local briack-and-mortar stores when I factor in the time saved by not having to wrap the items for shipping and waiting in the long slow lines at the post office I perceive the convenience of using Amazon as a great benefit. So far, all ordered items have arrived in a timely manner in good condition. Some of the kudos have to be shared with the delivery firm. All-in-all I have to give a thumbs up to Amazon.com.

******August 2007 update*******

Hi kids, Since the last review update I have made several more purchases at Amazon. All is still going well and I have noticed what appears to be more competitive prices at Amazon. Some of their prices for goodies I have bought were lower than other on-line retailers. So far, not one complaint about Amazon.

Items arrived as ordered. Speedy shipment. Danskin's Web site could be a wee bit more user friendly and could load faster but ease-of-use was acceptable.

Most, but not all, items were accompanied by a picture. Standard check-out procedure wherein the buyer can add or delete items easily.

SSL used and the firm has not spammed me.

I can only hope that Danskin and other on-line firms I have dealt with will take care to protect my credit card.
