Back in late 2011, I ordered 13 items totaling $135.16 plus $9.54 shipping. A box arrived from this seller but I did not open the box right away. I opened the box when I had time during Christmas shutdown. Everything was fine except one $6.00 item was absent even though it was included in the packing list. I explained this to them in an e-mail. They wrote back saying that such claims must be made in 3 days. I wrote back saying 3 days somewhat unworkable. For example, a package may arrive on Monday and the wife receives it but I might be on business trip until Saturday. They never responded to the second e-mail.

I installed a Rapid Reel GH164-RR on the south side of my NE-Iowa house June 11, 2005. I absolutely love it because it is; (a) Easy to use. (b) Fun to use. (c) Very fast to wind. (d) Low friction. (e) Comfortable handle position. (f) Easy access to attach/detach hose. (g) Sufficient spool diameter to avoid excessively tight inner laps. (h) I only have to buy it once in a lifetime. (i) I only have to mount it once in a lifetime.

Numerous previous reels (that my wife had purchased at department stores) had failed at that location. Over time my Rapid Reel became lower cost per year because of durability. My reel stays out all winter with the center tube drained and pointed down. I recently bought another Rapid Reel hose reel (1041-GH with 1044 extender) as an addition rather than a replacement. It shipped the same day even though I had not requested it. I haven't mounted or used my new one yet. I am expecting the best. I now own three.

My GH164-RR reel is mounted such that I pull my 100-foot hose straight out away from the house. Very little energy is required to pull out. When done, I walk back in a pattern that leaves half of the hose going straight south and the other half turned back straight north. I wind about two turns per second because of the low friction in both the handle and axle and because I am pulling in only half of the hose weight.

With 200 feet of hose out, I will likely hold the business end in one hand and grab the hose in the middle with my hand on the other side of my body as I walk toward the house. When I reach the house, there will be four 50-foot sections straight out to wind in at the rate of two turns per second.
