I ordered a KVM switch on Thursday that I needed fairly quickly. Since I ordered it early Thursday morning, I expected it to be shipped at least by the end of Friday. I ordered 6 other parts from 6 other places and every other one was shipped on Thursday. I called Friday to check on my order. The "check the status of my order" menu item on their answering service doesn't work, and when I chose other, I waited 1/2 hour before hanging up. It was telling me that they had an unexpectedly high volume of orders. I then called Monday (today) and had the same problems. I then sent them an e-mail to cancel my order, but I'm afraid that won't work. I'm going to call my credit card company today to dispute the charges because I'm sure they won't cancel the order. I can only hope I'm able to get around the charges.

By the way, in order to address eTech's response to Mr. Hinson, I got 2nd-Day Air delivery.

UPDATE: While I can't say that my credit card is credited, I can say that my order was cancelled less than an hour after I sent an e-mail to them. That does show some level of customer service and I do appreciate that.

UPDATE 2: Well, 2 months later, my refund did finally post. I honestly had forgotten about it, so I'm glad I got my money back at all. I didn't see their response, so I don't know what kind of restitution they were going to offer me, but I have no desire to order anything further from this company.

I had to change my order from them right after I sent it (ordered the wrong thing), and my enquiry was answered within 10 minutes. That really says a lot about a company when they're spending that much time keeping up to the minute with their customers' questions. I've ordered from them before, and I obviously will continue to do so in the future.

I ordered an IBM Ultrastar with the free LSI Logic card from them in January. For some reason, the drive died (I smelled smoke after I turned the computer on). I sent in for an RMA #, and then called and asked if I could do a cross-ship, since this was my system drive, and I had no computer until this was replaced. They said yes, and not only shipped the drive out that day (I called them at 11 o'clock CST), but they shipped it 2nd day air. I got it in time to set it up over the weekend. Excellent prices backed up by excellent services. I'll definitely go back to them, especially for SCSI needs.

Ooops. I didn't think to check here before I ordered directly from the manufacturer. I figured that it was fool-proof. Well, I just ordered the bare MCX462+ and I hope it gets here within 4 weeks. I understand being slow, but if it doesn't ship in 4 weeks, that's a little ridiculous. Please God, don't make me have to come back in here and complain!

Update: Well, I found one somewhere else cheaper (that I knew would ship in a day or two) and so I immediately sent them an e-mail cancelling the order. Mind you, this was no more than 3 hours after making the order in the first place. Well, the next morning, they told me that they shipped my product already, so I figured I was stuck with two of them now. But, today, two days later, they sent me an e-mail telling me to just refuse shipment and they will credit my account when they get it back. That sounds good to me. Not dissatisfied at all.

Edit: As promised, I will change my tone if neccesary. I was called today, a mere half-day after reporting the problem, by Directron to confirm that the wrong module was shipped. Because I needed the part back quickly, they even offered to ship it Next-Day Air! Since plans changed on my end, I was able to wait and am in no hurry to get the part, so I told him to just ship it back to me the way I received it; 3-Day Select. I was very impressed with their entire process and would recommend them to anyone.

Edit #2: I was called a little over a week ago and informed that the Geil RAM I ordered was on backorder and it would be a week or two before they would be receiving my part. Now I've dealt with places before that told me that just to get out of sending me the product. I told them I would wait, and a week later, they called me again and told me that they were sending it 3-Day Air. But that's not all. They called back AGAIN and said that it would actually be faster to send it ground (only 2 days from Houston to KC), and that they would be sending it that way. Since they called only 1 business day ago, I'm not expecting the package yet. At this point, my only complaint would be that he told me that I would be getting shipping information the night he called, and I have yet to receive it. However, knowing that he (the man I've contacted concerning returns) has that much connection with the other departments in Directron is a good sign. It remains yet to be seen if things arrive on time, but I'll keep you all posted.

Edit #3 (final): Well, the other stick arrived in two days as promised and I'm happy. Very easy to work with and great, responsive RMA procedure. I would recommend them to anyone.

Good God these people are good. It's only fair that - given the time I spend on this page checking other online resellers - I post when things go right, so I will. I've ordered from them in the past (my baby: a 435W Enermax) and was pleased, and I'm happy to say that I'm pleased with this order as well. I ordered a Lian-Li 15,000 RPM SCSI HDD cooler on Saturday. I don't remember what time exactly, but you can be assured that I don't wake up until at least noon on Saturdays. I had it shipped Fedex 3-Day Select (though I had to check my invoice to make sure). It was at my apartment Tuesday. I'm not sure how it's possible, but who cares because I'm happy. I ordered a 68-pin SCSI cable from them Monday, but only shipped it UPS ground. Think it'll be there tonight already? (It's Wednesday)

I ordered another product from them and noticed that their prices weren't the same as the ones they listed in Pricewatch, so I e-mailed them. They promptly correted the situation. I enjoy their service more each time I contact them.

Any ratings below zero to this dealer are absolutely fraudulent.

I was going on vacation (Scotland rules by the way) and wanted to get a new camera to take with me. I was leaving in a week and a half, but I saw no reason why 2nd day air wouldn't make it to my place in time.

I ordered a single Toshiba camera from them. When it didn't arrive a week later, I called them.... several times. You see, I also had the pleasure of dealing with their wonderful (and I'm sure intentional) phone system that hangs up on people repeatedly. I called 4 times before I actually talked to anyone that would guarantee that they would ship me anything. He told me that he would personally take care of my purchase and it would be out that afternoon. That was day one.

Day two, I called back and tried to see if they had indeed shipped my camera. After getting put on hold and subsequently hung up on three times, I finally talked to someone that said that he would check. But then the phone hung up again. I called back again and got someone else who I told not to put me on hold. They checked and sadi taht my order hadn't been shipped yet. So I told him I wanted to cancel the order. Guess what? That involved a transfer to another person. But before they got on the line, another hang up. Are you seeing a pattern here? I finally got on the phone, cussed him out (hey, I spent enough time on the phone, I deserved it), and told him to cancel my order.

I will say that I was able to get my camera THE DAY WE WERE LEAVING. I ordered the same morning I called Discovery to cancel, and received it THE VERY NEXT DAY. I called TheNerds.net and asked them whether or not it was possible to get it out that day yet, and they said they could. It did cost me something like $50 more, but at least I got it for my trip. After all that, I broke my camera a week in and had to buy a different one in Edinburgh.

DON'T BUY FROM THEM!!!

I order so many things from them I forget to leave comments sometimes. They are just incredible. The only reason I go anywhere else for products is if Newegg doesn't carry them. I just fried my motherboard and needed a replacement ASAP. I ordered yesterday, shipped it next day, and got it today. Wonderful.
