Ace Hardware Superstore

This clearly is a scam site. I assumed that being an Ace Hardware franchise, they would be reputable. Boy was I wrong. Never even thought I'd need to check resellerratings.com for them. I placed an order on Dec. 2 and they charged my credit card immediately. After 5 business days I emailed them becuase I hadn't received a shipping confirmation. I also tried phoning them, but no one answered. Got an email a few days later stating the item as out of stock and would take 4-5 weeks to ship. It appears they don't actually stock many of the items they sell. And why it would take 5 weeks for them to get supply is ridiculous. So, I emailed them and asked them to cancel the order. They emailed me back and said my card would be credited. It's been 5 business days and I've not seen any credit. Will have to protest the charge with the credit card company. What a massive waste of time. Their price on the item I ordered almost seemed too good to be true. Now I know why. I URGE YOU TO SHOP ELSEWHERE!!! After reading these reviews, you can only be a real fool to shop at this site.

PROFEEL / PMI Digital [profeel.com]

I ordered a Panasonic DVX100A camcorder from Profeel about 2 weeks ago and had an excellent experience. My sales person was Robin, who was very helpful and not too pushy. At first I was a bit leery to buy the camera from Profeel, because I was concerned that the camera might be a gray market unit. However, I have purchased from them before and they appeared to be very reliable and professional. My camera arrived safely in just a few days and included the bonus items that Panasonic only includes with cameras sold by authorized dealers and resellers. I.e., it came with the Magic Bullet software and Barry Green's excellent book and DVD on the DVX. I've submitted my $300 rebate, so hopefully that will also go through without a hitch.

In the end, I got an excellent camera, for an excellent price ($2778 after the rebate and including shipping), with all of the extras bundled goodies, as well as great service (Robin was good at confirming the camera indeed shipped with all of the extras it was suppose to ship with) and fast deliver.

Overall, it was a very positive experience.

I just wanted to add that it's been about 4 weeks since ordering my camera and I received my $300 rebate from Panasonic. So, it appears that ProFeel is indeed an authorized dealer buying through an authorized Panasonic distributor. Once again, the entire experience has been positive and the camera is wonderful.
