4/5

Yes, I am happy with the product, and I was happy with the prompt delivery and good packaging. But how could I trust the warranty (not to mention the product) of a company that would offer me a prize for a good review, and then offer me a larger prize to remove their own message? If you don't see your offer as a bribe, then why worry if I leave it posted? Why is it that an honest company would want to hide an honest offer to a new customer? There is nothing wrong in itself with offering a special inducement to new customers. But that can be done without making it conditional on a good review.
To say "We apologize, if this offer has offended you in any way" is a pretty common cop out these days, a kind of false apology that doesn't admit to any intention to commit the act. Please reconsider my suggestion to take up a career in political advertising. In fact, you offended me in the very specific way that I described. You assumed that I would take a bribe for a good review. This deceptive business practice made me worry that the Canon camera I purchased might have some defect or might even be counterfeit "knock off" of a Canon. Why not just say, "I'm sorry; I goofed" ? Or "We can see now that our offer was inappropriate." In that case, since you have said you will not make the offer in the future (even though you then made a larger offer to me), I would remove the review. I decline the offer of a 3 year extended warranty. I have replaced the id number in your letter with X's.

Dear Customer Service Manager,
Tut, tut. I would have been happy to send off a good rating to resellerratings.com, because that is where I went to verify that you were a good retailer, and I am very satisfied with my purchase and your service.
But it is so disappointing to see that the sales department numbers among the many Americans who don't recognize the moral risk of a conflict of interest. It would be even worse were you aware of it and made the offer anyway. Your offer of a free warranty amounts to financial compensation for the destruction of my good word. Hence, you have done serious damage to your reputations as honest retailers. Have you considered doing commercials for Exxon (We Agree!) or running for congress? I decline.
Best regards,
Gary Palmer
