What a terrible experience. I was looking for a hard to find book that was out of stock at all of the major online stores. Well, what do you know? This website that I had never heard of had it listed as available. They were, quite literally, the only folks in North America that *ahem* had it in stock.
I don't need to tell you that they did not have it in stock and I did not find this out until 7 days later. No sweat, though ... it's not like they could bait & switch with this specialty item. I cancelled my order with no problem. Now on to my major gripe:
They won't stop emailing me! I have opted-out of their email list 3 times. That may not sound like many attempts but in order to comply with the CAN-SPAM act they have to honor unsubscription requests within 10 days. Ten days times 3 attempts equals 30 days. DeepDiscount.com has not removed me from their email list for over a month; a clear violation of US law. I have complained to the FTC. In the meantime I have to receive their emails ... sometimes 3 a day ... until some type of action is taken. This alone has made me not want to "shop" with DeepDiscount.com again. When checking out do not tick the option to subscribe to their email list; you will never be free!
