I ordered a Mercury Elite Pro FireWire hard drive enclosure on a Monday evening, the order shipped Tuesday, and arrived via Fedex on Friday. Through the entire process OWC was very responsive to emails, both customer service and tech support, always replying within 24 hours. Before buying from them, I did lots of searches on popular Mac discussion boards like Macnn and MacWorld. I could find nothing but praise for both OWC and the Mercury Elite enclosures. I choose it over a MacAlly product because of the Oxford 911 chip set in the OWC model. So far it has worked great and my experience with OWC (macsales) has been a very good one. I'm sorry to read so many negative reviews on this board, the only thing I can guess is that those are mostly from a few years ago and that OWC has improved things. But that's just a guess. My experience has been very good.

Reading the negative reviews here, I was hesitant to order from Outpost. But their price on a 160GB Seagate Barracuda hard drive was simply too good, $59.99 after rebate. That's nearly $70 less than any other place I could find. Placed the order, they updated my shipping to next day air at no extra charge without me asking, and the hard drive arrived a few days later in good working order. Six days after the order was placed, their price on the hard drive dropped $10. I contacted customer service and they refused to refund me the price difference. I've never ordered from a company who has refused such a request. Thus in the end, I'm somewhat satisfied with Outpost. They got the order right, had a great price, and got it to me very fast. But their customer service lacks a bit. This was my first order with Outpost, but I'll continue to most of my shopping at Amazon (always a great experience), or at New Egg for things Amazon doesn't have. Outpost did okay, but didn't win me over.
