We appreciated your working with us to get a solution on this one. It was a tough one because the symptoms pointed to a possibly bad board.
For others of you with overheating problems with CPUs, make sure you check to make sure that the mechanism holding the fan to the board is applying even pressure across the CPU face. Sometimes the face of the heatsink can come into contact with the edge of the ZIF socket, causing the sink to ride up slightly off the CPU.

You really only find out the true character of a company when you have a problem. I recently purchased a motherboard and memory for a system from J and N and after assembling it was having problems with stability. I returned with the components suspecting that the motherboard might be bad. J and N took the components and told me to return later that afternoon. When I arrived back, they had my system running on the counter. The problem appeared to be an inadequate or incorrectly mounted CPU heat sink. J and N expended considerable time determining the problem and had the system running so that I could see that it was completely functional. I did purchase an upgraded CPU cooler which I had them install. They only charged me for the new heat sink and fan. They even called me a day later to make sure that everything was functioning correctly. One recommendation that I have is to purchase a bundled system whenever possible. J and N stands behind what they sell and went beyond the call of duty.
