"A horrible experience. I ordered a Canon camera. It arrived damaged and I wanted to get my money back. They told me of a restocking fee that I wasn't aware of and it took a long time on the phone to reach a real person. They advertise "factory refurbished, like new, A+" but the camera I received was "D+".
It may not be their fault since they get the refurbs from the camera company but they should have some quality control and make themselves more accessible to customers. To add insult to injury it took almost two weeks to get the item!!"

"They had the best price on the APPLE iPod Video 60GB and (as MANY others have mentioned here) the status online reflected they were in-stock!

I ordered this with second day air and the next day I still hadn't received a tracking number from the company by the afternoon. I thought this was odd and I needed this to be timely since it was for a gift. I called just to find out that I had wasted my time. They didn't actually have it in stock. Of course, I was frustrated and complained to the rep that they need to have their systems reflect their status better. Apparently (with some of the reviews going back as far as 1999) not much will ever change with this place. Don't waste your time. Oh, and now I'm on their email list and constantly get reminders about their deals. Shrug.

Move on, nothing to see here.

"Purchased a camcorder recently from refurbdepot.com and was VERY DISAPPOINTED... The unit arrived DOA. I called to get my money back (because it was a gift and did not have the time to get a replacment) and they charged me a 15% restocking fee. What nerve of a company to sell non-working products and then charge a restocking fee.

Please be warned, the price is very enticing to purchase from this company, but DON'T. You will loose out in the long run. ***SAVE YOUR MONEY***DO NOT PURCHASE FROM REFURBDEPOT.COM"

"They went out of their way not to support their warranty claim as stated on the web site. They were rude on the phone. Asked questions like what was the name of the person that you spoke with while refusing to provide their name. Statements included "you had it for 11 months why should we help you" The product had a 12 month warranty. Don't expect any support from this company.

"I would highly recommend refurbdepot.com. I will definitely be purchasing from them again. Their customer service is first rate, when you call you immediately get a live person. My experience with them is probably the best I've had with an online merchant. Very friendly, very easy. A++!"

"ABSOLUTELY **WONDERFUL** I ordered my Canon Digital Camera online on Sunday night, paid just under $10 for UPS trackable delivery. Got emails notifying me of shipment and it was delivered on Wednesday. No one called. Everything was perfect. When I am shopping for something they sell, I will ALWAYS buy from them from now on."

"Horrible to deal with. Basically you get what you get and plan on sending it back less 15% restocking fee and minus s&h. Plan on losing about $50.00 and gaining a big headache!"

"I understand supply and demand (I also appreciate honesty); however, now, almost a month after ordering my ipod (and still waiting for it), getting lied to eleven times (literally) about when it was going to ship or be in stock (and hearing something different every time I call - even on the same day), putting up with snobby and emotionally drained customer service reps that make me feel like I am stupid (except one nice guy), being hung up on, not being able to track my order (and being told an engineer was working on it), and not trusting if I am/was ever going to receive my product, I don't recommend. Finally (an update), I was told three more times it was going to ship. So, about ten minutes before I finally could not take it anymore and cancelled my order, and an hour after I was told it both had shipped the morning before and would ship later today (the next day), I called (not revealing my identity) and asked the rep if they had the ipod in stock: I was told it wasn't and it would be sometime next week; I was told three different things on the same day. What a waste of precious time. This was not a positive online buying experience; I caution against setting yourself up for the same experience as myself and others."

"Worst Store Ever
NEVER BUY FROM THIS STORE

I purchased an ipod and recieved it on time but....... the screen was all scratched as if it was used for 10 years, buttons aren't working, it isn't even turning off.!!!! When we called customer service noone was able to help all what we were told is that either we exchange it or return it and we have to pay for shipping and handling plus 15% restocking fee. IS IT OUR PROBLEM WE RECIEVED IT DAMAGED???!!!!.And even when we asked to talk with the supervisor they told us noone is available to talk. Hate this store will never ever buy again."

"BUYERS BEWARE!!!!! This is the worst online seller I have ever used. Once I unravel the mess that I've gotten into, I will NEVER consider purchasing from them again. They are liars and thieves. Frst, the item was stated to be "in stock". They told me the item would ship within two days. When it didn't, they told me my item was shipping three additional times on three different dates, when it was no-where close to shipping out. It took three weeks to receive and then it was damaged. How could they have shipped this out like that (UPS didn't damage it - you should see the way they packed it!!!!...I think they are trying to win claims from UPS on the shipping insurance for items they have damaged internally!!!) The manufacturer won't even warranty the item due the damage the unit suffered (it appeared to have been dropped on it's corner - while outside of the packaging). So, after two weeks of dealing with UPS who isn't responsible (I had to schedule an appointment for them to come out and inspect...and no, they have to come to your home so get ready to take time off from work to deal with this folks), they got around to inspecting it. Then, I had to make three phone calls just to get UPS to come out and pick up the item (after the inspection - because NO they don't pick it up - they just inspect it) to send it back. Five weeks later, and I'm without a PC and the item is still in transit back to RD.com and there is no end in site....if I cancel my order now - they'll charge me a 15%restocking fee!!!! But THEY reserve the right to decide whether they will credit my account or send me a new laptop (and one can only assume I'll get the same one back - fixed and unwarrantable by Sony). Time is ticking and I have no laptop to use, and of course....they don't give a damn (and they don't even try to give you the impression that they do). The Customer Service Reps are liars and will tell you anything to get rid of you (if they respond at all). If you call, expect to be on hold for 30+ minutes and sometimes they'll disconnect you or put you on old after they answer. It's impossible to deal with them. I'm surprised that this company hasn't been shut down, but I guess ANYONE can operate a business over the internet. BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!"

"I ordered a 60 gig video iPod on June 30. On July 12, the internet said the order was still processing. I needed the item on the 10th of July, so it was too late anyway. I e-mailed them on Thursday July 6 and they said it would be mailed out on July 10th. July 10th, I received an e-mail that said it would be sent out July 11th. I also received a phone call that day stating that it had been sent out on July 11. On July 13, the internet said "still processing" so I e-mailed and asked for a tracking number. I got an e-mail on July 14th that it would still be another 2-3 business days before refurbdepot.com received the iPod from Apple. This was THREE DAYS AFTER THEY SAID THEY HAD MAILED IT! Liars, thieves, untrustworthy and would never shop there again. Also warned my friends!"

"I ordered a digital camera from refurb depot. I was advised on the phone that she had confirmed the warehouse was shipping it to me that afternoon. One week later, no camera arrives. I check the website, and it says order is processing. I call them, and they advise they don't stock that camera but that they would send me a similar camera instead. They said it was a one letter difference , but basically the same, just one level better. They also said that it would accept the type of storage card I currently posess. Later, they email to say that they can't get my credit card to go through. I phone them, and I find out the reason why. I use a SHOP SAFE credit card number, which allows me to set the maximum charge amount for 1 time online purchases. In fact, they were not sending me an alternative camera to the one they had already told me had shipped to me, they were UPSELLING me a new camera for a lot more money, and that's why the SHOP SAFE card caught the unusual amount they were charging and stopped the transaction. I phoned them and waited on hold so long the recorded music ran out of music to play. The new agent advised me that it was a better camera and that they would not honor the original price. He said management would never approve it. I asked to speak to management, he said they were impossible to get ahold of. I told him I thought it was dishonest to say that you were shipping me an alternative camera in place of the one that failed to ship, then just try to CHARGE me for a higher amount without ever discussing the fact that there was a price difference with me. Also, he confirmed that the revised camera did not accept storage medium the previous agent assured me it did. Then, after some debate, they offered to downgrade me to the next model down for the same price as the camera I originally ordered. That's the dumbest resolution I've ever heard. This place just comes across as really shady. Sometimes you just need to follow your instincts, and everything to do with this place so far stinks of something not right.

"all the other reviews are correct about this company. They have links for contact email, but it is blank when you click on it. They do not want to you to know who they are because they are crooks. Ordered an averatec 3715-ed1r notebook and 3 year extended warranty with next day shipping over memorial day weekend. I got it thursday that week. Granted it came fedex overnight, it was longer than it should have been for what i paid. Never recieved any warranty information. Fortuantly the laptop works with no external flaws whatsoever. Price was the same as Staples open-box at one of thier stores. I should have bought that one and not wasted my time with this company. Refurbdepot should be avoided until they can prove where they are located and actually appear to be a reputable company. Today my order status says shipped and processing. No tracking number was ever recieved. I emailed them about my warranty, no reponse. Thankfully averatec is a decent company. "

"I bought a Vaio desktop from RefurbDepot. Allegedly it was refurbished by Sony. According to Sony that is not true. The upper door for the disk-player, a manual and a AC/DC power supply unit are missing.
Sony says it is noch covered by the warranty because it is an open box item. The charge: $ 32 for the door and $ 6 vor shipping.
If you want to talk to customer service you wait at least one hour. E-mails are hardly returned and if they are vage.
I will return the item as soon as I get the RAM#.
RefurbDepot - never again! And I hope other people learn from mine and others experience.
Burkel"
