"I just bought mlb the show from a seller on ebay and it was a stellar buying experience. I have bought several things on their site and have never had a problem. I definitely recommend shopping their."
"Purchased a used set of Insanity Workout DVDs from a seller who had all positive reviews. Unfortunately, the DVDs turned out to be fake. (I ultimately bought directly from Beachbody and compared the two sets.)
Seller was unresponsive to messages, email, phone call. Filed a claim with Ebay. Seller refused to accept a return and escalated the claim. Ebay reviewed the claim and decided in my favor.
Item was shipped back to seller. Ebay automatically refunded my money after verifying delivery confirmation.
Definitely pleased with Ebay. Have had over 250+ positive transactions since 1999. Thank you!"
"Ebay is the largest cheater in the world(to those who want to be a seller):
I just want to open a store on ebay.com, so I open an ebay account, verify my PayPal with credit card(I have a good credit).... then subscribe a store which cost about $15/month, then I start to make pages for listing item and uploading image to another place, costing me several days, then the first one is listed, costing $0.2 lasting for 30days, then I start to list the second.
But they stop me to do that saying the account need to be verified as a foreign seller following a link where you need to upload the ID card image, image of bill statement ....... So why not tell me to do this before I list a item?
ok,fine that's fine I did it.
But after about 3 days, the verification was denied.
They asked me to send the image of the original one" because it’s black and write. COME ON, That's the original one. Are all bill statement written in color? You are stupid. Am I the only person doing this in mainland? Of course not, so why two guys(I emailed two) reply the same stupid reason?
Then they ask me to just upload a image of the front of credit card.
I did it. But days later, they told me the verification is denied.
THAT’S NO OK. THAT’S NOT FINE. THAT’S SCAM.
First, I have a very nice credit, I bet my credit card have nothing wrong. Second, I'm new to ebay, So I don't have negative feedback on ebay. Third,I don't have any bad domestic and foreign reputation.
So GIVE ME THE REASON THAT THE VERIFICATION WAS DENIED.
I invest money and several days, Then it turn out to be nothing. Why don't you ask me to do foreign trade verification before I put money into it? You know these well, you can avoid your customer's lose very easily. But you just let it happen on purpose. Why? because I'm not the only person, that's the point, a lot of $15 will be a lot. They just start to charge before you get the service. "
"THEY GET TO KEEP MOST OF MY PROFITS... THEIR FEES ALONG WITH PAYPAL ARE WAY TOO HIGH. AM ALREADY LOOKING FOR OTHER OPTIONS TO SELL MY STUFF ONLINE. DON'T LET THEM STEAL YOUR MONEY."
"eBay has done nothing to help me with customer disputes nor to advance my business. In fact, eBay and PayPal's customer service and the "new and improved" buyer protection is completely responsible for tens of thousands of dollars in lost revenue for us due to the system being implemented nearly immediately with no notification and no time to switch over to it. Buyers don't even contact us as sellers anymore. I can't even list items anymore since my account is limited!! Awesome! I make sure to tell everybody of my horrific experiences (11 year member) with eBay and tell them to AVOID it at all costs.
*NEWS FLASH* I could buy an item from any person on eBay right now, "Claim" it's broken when it's technically not, effectively stealing ANY item from ANY seller! The system is COMPLETELY flawed. A company worth millions doesn't care at all about their seller base, but I'm not concerned. Soon enough the decline of eBay will be obvious to their management and change will undoubtedly come."
"Over years I've had mixed experiences with eBay. The way they operate is unique and different from other online stores. As many reviewers already mentioned, if buying from, or selling to a reputable party, then problems are rare. Nevertheless, the eBay is full of all kinds of scams as well. Understandably, it is impossible for the company to keep everything under control considering their business model, but to me, they are obviously unable to offer the same level of service as some other merchants in their league. The company's customer support is poor. Their rules and regulations are often vague. If things go wrong for any reason, the company does not possess as good mechanisms as other online sellers to resolve those issues. Clearly, eBay is far from reaching the level of reliability and reputation that other big players in the game have. For all these reasons, eBay is good for small, low risk transactions. For other deals, personally I would avoid them."

"Let me add my voice to those thousands of reviews out there warning others of how bad ebay is. Rumours abound of the contempt ebay has for their customers. No customer service to speak of - I've never received a response to any emails. this is what happens when we have a monopoly run by the kind of people that run ebay."
