When it turned out to be an unreliable piece of junk that didn't even stay lit, I posted a negative review on the Buy.com/Rakuten web site. A week later I discovered my review was never published by them and the lantern still had an unbelieveable 5 out of 5 rating. When I tried to repost my review I was blocked based on the fact I had already reviewed the product. Oh yeah, then where is my low score review shown??"

"I get my wife Chanel No 5 every year for anniversary. Tried to save money this year ordering on line from Buy.com (lowest advertised price). Product arrived promptly but I was suspicious immediately. Made in France not USA as previous puchases. Print on box was lower quality. Stamp on bottle rim was blurry and label was crooked. Most importantly scent was aweful, not even close! I called to complain, they gave me the number of their distributor. Very unprofessional, no argument about being counterfeit, will send return mailer and will refund with money order when return arrives. I dont trust them at all. No response to contact sent to Buy.com web site expressing my dismay."
"I'm a mom of 5 and have been doing most of my shopping online for years. NEVER had an experience like this.1) I found exactly what I was looking for. Placed my order, entered all my personal information and credit card info, clicked "continue". Instead of getting a confirmation that my order had been placed, I was redirected to the sign-in page. Tried again, same thing happened.2) Now I was worried that maybe it did go through, which would mean that I had just ordered twice. So I sent an email. I waited 2 days. No response. 3) I had things to do and couldn't sit online all day. Got in my car and called the customer service number (which was not so easy to find on the website, either) to ask if they could dheck the status of my order. Spoke to one person who seemed to be basically human, which was nice. She told me that they had no information on me. I asked if I could place the order on the phone and she transferred me to a sales rep. So far, okay. The sales rep asked me for the item number. I told her I was driving and did not have access to it. Her: "Ma'am, you have to have the item number." I asked, politely, if I could describe the item (exactly as described on the site) and she could find it online. She hesitated, then whined, "But there are so many products." In other words, this was simply TOO HARD for her to do! I told her I had been trying to buy the thing for 3 days and needed it asap and was not impressed with customer service and if she would put the name of the product into the search engine she would find it immediately. She finally gave in and found the item in about 5 seconds. Then she gave me the item number and asked me if I want to check online that it's the right item. Hello...! Driving! No access! THAT'S WHY I'M CALLING YOU!!4) FINALLY, thought I was done and waiting happily to receive my order. Today, I get an e-mail saying, "We're sorry, your order has been cancelled!" WHAT? WHY?? Who ever heard of a seller just cancelling an order? And for no apparent reason? And now I see that I am not the only one this has happened to.5) Sent them an extremely irate e-mail. It's now 6 hours later. No response, of course. And for some reason, I'm not thinking I'm ever going to get one. I am mad, frustrated, annoyed, I want my order, and I am never going to use buy.com again.And I gave them 1 star because 0 was not an option."
"I purchased a refurbished Toshiba Thrive 10" Tablet with Buy.com and was highly dissappointed with their customer service. They sent me a damaged power cord and when I called for a replacement they claim they were out of stock and that I must return item for a full refund. However that was not an acceptable resolution for me. I wanted to keep my Toshiba Tab since I gave up other deals this day when I chosed to buy this item. To prove that they're falsifying information I attempted to purchase the same item again while still on the phone with the rep and I was able to do so. When I questioned the rep on this she claims that I have to return the item because they're out of stock. The power cable was cleary tampered with so that the customer would be obligated to return the item. Apparently there is something shady about them. They referred me to toshiba for a replacement but I have to pay the full price. This is not customer satisfaction. I would not recommend them."

Packaged had been used, returned, inspected by seller and labelled "like new"... and they sold it as brand-new.This was unacceptable because I was buying it as a gift!I complained, seller would only authorize a return at recipient's expense, and advised about a 15% restocking fee. Again, totally unacceptable for a gift-giving occasion.And here's the kicker: a few weeks later Buy.com sent me an e-mail asking to provide feedback for that seller. "Before I proceed, I'd like to say that I placed orders from buy.com many times in the past, but this experience has completely turned me off and I would never do business with them again.I made a purchase on 4/18. The items were listed as In Stock and Usually Ships in 1 to 2 business days. I received instant order confirmations. On 4/25, when I noticed that the orders were still processing, I emailed buy.com asking when they would ship. On 4/26, Alexis replied stating that on 4/19 someone left me a voicemail asking for more information, and to notify them if I did not received this message. I replied, and asked for them to call me or verify my address through email. The same day, Tamie responded, saying that my info was forwarded for review and that my order would be processes in 1 business day. On 4/30 I got a voicemail asking me to call to verify my address, but no number was left. After calling the general hotline number and spending hours on the phone, I finally got through to the Address Verification Department and they verified my address. Within minutes, my orders were canceled by the marketplace seller, stating that the stock at the lower price I paid was no longer available. They said buy.com took too long to process the order and it sold out. I contacted buy.com asking them to honor the price, but they refused. I spoke with 2 reps before trading emails with Robert Porras. He claimed that there was a price mistake and said they will not honor the sale. This was not a price mistake and there was no reason to assume that. I purchased the items for $118, but buy.com claims that it should have been $1218. This sells for $599 everywhere else, so there was no reason to assume that it was fat-fingered. I figured this was a clearance item, since a new model of the tablet is about to be release. I have found great deals on the internet before, this was one of them. I was offered a $25 gift certificate, which I refused. Then they offered me $100, which I also refused. Then Robert offered to price match 1 of the tablets to a competitor’s price of $599, which was ridiculous because I could have just purchases at that price originally. After I refused, he stopped responding.This is unacceptable. Buy.com needs to take responsibility for not processing orders in a timely manner. There is no way the customer should have to pay for their negligence."
