"UPDATE 8/2/07:

Well, after a series of tickets on the website, I did finally recieve a courteous reply saying that my order had shipped. This morning I recieved a tracking number, and my Wii shall arrive tomorrow. While the lack of communication was stressful I'd have to say that I would do business with them again (assuming the install arrives as advertised). I've revised my rating accordingly.

I have yet to recieve an update on my order, even after placing 2 tickets on their websiteMy Wii was delivered to the installation center on Wed. 7/25 via Fedex, and I have gotten no response since then. Being that I shipped them my Wii, I'm starting to get very concerned. Maybe a post here will get an appropriate update, at which point I will revise my rating of their service."

"Buyer BEWARE! I purchased an item listed as "IN STOCK" on June 30, 2007 and received an order confirmation e-mail.

I purchased OVERNIGHT shipping, so it was strange that on July 2, 2007, I did not receive ANY shipping confirmation for an item that ADVERTISES it will be shipped within 24 hours! I sent an e-mail to the support address asking if they had shipped the item, or what the delay was, if truly in stock.

On July 3, 2007, after my credit card had been charged, I received an e-mail response to my inquiry. "We apologize but we are currently out of stock of ..." and "Please get back to us as soon as you can" about accepting a cheaper product.

I then INSTANTLY did a Yahoo! search for reviews on "XBox-Modchips.com" , aka "Linux Chips", aka "AmericanXboxModchips.com". That's when I became instantly concerned.

I immediately requested a refund. And, on July 5, 2007, I receive an e-mail that seemed like they never communicated with me before, "No we do not have the ... in stock", again! Like in 48 hours they couldn't have accepted my order cancellation.

Then, on July 6, 2007, they acknowledged they would refund me, after I sent another concerned message.

May I interject, I HAD TO SIGN UP for some strange SUPPORT SYSTEM they make their customers use in order to communicate with them and view “updates” to the “support issue”.

By July 22, 2007, I had sent a few more “SUPPORT REQUESTS” through their system and CALLED their phone number that rings to a residential-style answering machine. After NO RESPONSE since July 6, 2007, and NO INDICATION on my billing statement that a refund had been issued, I decided to deal with my Credit Card company.

On July 22, 2007, my Credit Card company issued me a refund, definitively stating that NO ATTEMPT HAD BEEN MADE BY THE MERCHANT TO REFUND MY CARD BY THAT DATE. NO Refund . [period]

THEREFORE, my FEELING about this situation is unless a customer wants to endure FALSELY ADVERTISED STOCK, PROCESSING TIME, and ORDER REFUND status, AND I feel that if a consumer ENJOYS contacting their CREDIT CARD company and filling-out the PAPERWORK and TRANSMIT the SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION, then I FEEL CONSUMERS SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM Xbox-Modchips.com .

BAD, TIME-CONSUMING ORDEAL FOR ME. I feel that XBOX-MODCHIPS.COM got an INTEREST-FREE cash advance at MY EXPENSE of time, effort, stress, credit, etc."

"Since placing my order 1 month ago, I have not received my order, a tracking number, information about the status of my order, or any explanation. I have sent several emails to their different email addresses, called the telephone number on their website and left a message, logged a ticket on their support page - still no response.

I received this email 1 month after placing my order :

Today is 8/2/2007, 9 days ago you told me you would get back to me with an order status update. Is my order still being processed, or are you going to refund me, or do I have to contact my credit card company for a refund?

"These guys are awesome!!!
I screwed up my gamecube trying to install a chip. I mailed my gc out and they repaired my failed install and mailed it back inside the same week. I ot email replies immediately. I'd definately do business with them again. "

"Have ordered many items and had work done . this is the best take my word for it. customer service quick response will work with you. if you try any other place and you get burned it's your fault because you should have used them they are by far the BEST and i would not use any other service for PARTS/REPAIRS/TUTORIALS OR ANYTHING RELATED TO SYSTEM MODES FAST DELIVERY . DON'T BE A FOOL USE THEM ."

The past day 20 of June, i order a ps2 modded the one price total are $418,21 with the shiping cost, after of a month and to try to put in contact several times to me with these gentlemen I have not obtained anything.

I feel deceived and if don't receipt an answer i will say to my bank the return of this purchase.

"They have not returned any of my emails or calls. I have not recieved the items nor have I been contacted by them. I tried to use their support page but I cannot get in or reset a password. Do Not buy from them unless you want to be ignored!"

"This store has serious customer communication issues. I made an order for an XCM XBOX360 fan kit with the extra fan and 2 different tool sets (over $100) with overnight shipping back on June 28th. On July 3rd they charged my card and I haven't heard anything since.

No product and worst of all no communication. Their phone line dumps to what sounds like a cheap v.mail box or home answering machine while the message deceivingly tells you someone will help you in a moment. I called and left multiple messages with no answer. I emailed sales their info address and tried their support system which generated and then promptly lost my request ticket.

I know that this fan kit is a hot item and I know other distributions are back ordered, so if that's the case I understand (even though the items were listed as InStock when I ordered). What I don't understand is the utter lack of communication with the customer. It seems to me that this business is someones side job while they work 9-5 elsewhere. Order from these guys with caution.

It's nice to see these guys to respond to some customers (see complaint posted above). It's too bad they pick and choose who they like to help and who they don't like. I didn't know being a paying customer was a popularity contest. We have disputed the $109 charge with our Credit company and will be looking elsewhere for the item.

UPDATE July 28th
Well we never got any contact, we have successfully disputed the charge and were refunded by our CC. I ordered the needed parts from another vendor on Monday the 23rd and had my parts by 2 days later. Now why can't XBOX Modchips do that?

Also it appears that XBOX Modchips may be artificially boosting their rating here so as of today we are reporting them to this host site."

"I ordered the XCM Xbox 360 High Speed Air Cooler w/ LCD Display & Addon Fan and received it within just two days. I was very pleased with the shipping even though it was DHL.

What I am frustrated about is the Addon Fan PCB had a defect and shorted upon powering my Xbox on. This in turn fried the power from the chip to the DVD Drive. I have attempted to get a support account to open an RMA ticket but still haven't received an email to activate. I tried two different user names and still no email.

I called their toll free number 3 days ago and left a detailed message with my order number and issue along with my cell phone to call me and I still haven't heard back yet.

I tried to email the various email addresses listed on their website as well as reply to the one from Jan I received after my order and they were bounced back as undeliverable.

At this point I do not plan to order anymore products and will not recommend this site to anyone I know. "

"Never have I had an experience like this before. On 4/30/7 I ordered a XAPT3R 2 Solderless adapter from this store. I received an email that stated that my odrer would be shipped once the payment had been processed. On 5/4/7 i recieved an email that said my pament had been processed. Today is 7/1/7 and I have still not received my product. I have called and left messages three times. I have sent messages threee times. I even opened an account at support.xbox-modchips.com (which I picked up from their response to another complaint on this page). I did not receive an answer to any of these inquiries, no mail, no return phone call, no post on their support page, and most importantly NO PRODUCT! I have tried to play the game by their rules but to no avail. Since this is the only forum through which they seem to respond, I am hopeful that maybe I can get something done this way.

My recommendation, find someone else to buy from.
