"I Purchased a security system for my home after about a week the door/ window chime went bad. They said once you send it back they will send you another one! So now the money you spent you will have to go without it until they get the orignal back they will send a new one , How much time will I now be without the alarm system that was just installed?Not to mention they are very hard to reach.Also the lamp module don't work and the key fobs don't either. I will not buy any of these products again. Take Notice!I ordered these items and received them 3 weeks ago they were out of stock at the time."

"They seem to be out of controle. Tghere are other places to buy most of this X-10 stuff.
I ordered a CM15A usb pc controler for x-10 modules. They sent a CM15K insted. It is not even close to being the same product.
(CM19 with a transciever module)
Spent over an hour on hold to contact cust service. They told me the CM 15A had been discontinued. So why did the send me something thats not a replacement and why is it still listed and orderable on their website? They gave me an RMA to send it back for a refund because of their mistake (scam) but I have to pay shipping."

"I purchased two Airsight Cameras as a christmas gift. These were wireless IP cameras. First...they are not Wireless. They have a power cord. No mention of that on their website when I tried to find it before ordering. Second, these security cameras are for indoor use only. Again, no mention of that, in fact, their website clearly shows images taken outside from these cameras! Misleading. Finally, I couldn't get these cameras to work on my network. I found out that I was one of many people with the same problem. No help. They wanted a 15% restocking fee to return the junk that didn't work and was misreprented. Don't buy from these guys. BTW -- most of their stuff is available on OTHER websites at a lower price. Put the screw to X10 and buy it from someone else. Their service is slow and not at all useful."

"I ordered the wireless security system from x10 on November 3rd 2011, it is now January 6th 2012 and I still have not recieved my security system. I have sent several emails and got a response a month ago saying my product was not in stock, but it would be by mid-December. So I waited.........and waited......I have called and waited on hold for over an hour each time and end up hanging up, I have sent more emails with no response. I do however, constantly get junk mail from them. This is an awful company. I do not see how they are in business. I am filing a complaint with Paypal and the BBB, hopefully I wil get my money back. This is no way to run a business, it feels more like a scam."

"I bought an x10 ip airsight camera and when I tried to install the software on my computer it told me to restart it, when I did I got a black screen on my computer. After trying for days to get a hold of them by phone, chat and email I finally talked to a person who told me it is not their software problem that it is my computer and I need to contact my computer support people. Their support department is a nightmare. Plus, they have an extensive return process in order to recoop just a portion of the purchase price. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY THEY ARE A NIGHTMARE TO DEAL WITH!

"I purchased an extended warranty for an Active Home Pro - CM15a Controller. It started failing 3 months ago. X10 will not issue an exchange and have it replaced. They have been giving me the run around for over 3 months. I will never buy from them again. I will replace my X10 system with newer technology, that works. "

"I am a Canadian (west coast) that got trapped into purchasing a security camera and receiver for my TV from this company - WOW - I cannot beleive how poor the service is - they give a number that you can call 24/7 however the wait times are so bad and guess what they are only open to talk to you M-F 9-6 EST. My credit card was charged instantly and my product arrived here in Canada 10 days later and is a defective product - I called for service and was told that I have to pay to have it shipped back to the east coast of the USA and once they receive it they will send me a new product - I even chatted on-line with a supervisor to no avail - they are not empowered to assist their customers - no wonder the US is in such a pickle economically! Someone should do something about companies like this that are ripping people off - what is my recourse other than to return the product and hope like hell they refund my money - by the looks of some of these reviews it is going to be awhile before I get my credit to my card! Here is my recommendation to anyone thinking about buying from this company - DON'T DO IT!"

"Buyer Beware! Inferior products and refunds are not issued, nearly 3 months after they acknowledged receipt of the items. They are "understaffed" which isn't surprising since they probably have MANY returns. I've also reported to the BBB and anyone else I can think of!"

"Customer Service is non existant!!

I placed an order for a PC based security camera system which was billed to my Paypal account instantly.

The next day I received an Email saying that for an extra charge they would include the camera and the software, which the advertising said were included. (Bait and Switch)

I cancelled the order and after three weeks and several Emails, my PayPal account has not been credited.

I finally received a refund on Dec. 8 - after filing both a dispute and finaly a claim with PayPal.

I am very happy with PayPal for resolving this problem. I would never buy anything again from X10.com."

"Cheap prices, but terrible support.
Buying on this site is like betting - substitutions are usual practice, returns are not practically possible. Avoid it by all means !"

"I ordered a part on their website that I was having trouble finding on any other site. After a week passed without any word from them I decided to call to check on the order status. At this point I was informed that the product was discontinued. The customer service agent let me know that the case would be sent to their supervisor since they could not give a refund. This was fine, although it would have been nice to have informed me earlier that the item was discontinued I wasn't to put off by this. However, getting a refund took another week to get.

Since I still needed the part I tried to order it from another website. Not until after the order did I realize that the website actually placed the order with X10 again. Knowing that the item was discontinued I immediately sent an e-mail to X10 to get a refund. I forgot about this for a little while until I finally got an answer several weeks later saying that the case was sent to a supervisor. After another couple of weeks I tried to contact X10 again but with no response.

Finally, after over a month and a half of waiting for a return I filed a Paypal claim. To my surprise this somehow got their attention as I got my refund the day after I filed the claim. This made it obvious to me that this company is not one I trust and not one I ever want to ever deal with in the future."

"This seller's communication is very poor. This is the second time I had to contact them about shipping delays even though Google checkout had sent me shipping confirmation emails. It seems that if the item is not in stock they just wait until it becomes available even though your credit card is charged immediately. On this occasion they could not even tell me when the item would be available but still did not see it fit to contact me.
Do not purchase from this seller unless you are absolutely certain the item is available for immediate shipping because while their payment is immediate, your refund isn't."

"I order this thing in 7/15 because it's free after rebate. They ship out in a few days and received about 1week. I open the box, try to test it and see the quality, then i found the product doesn't seems working right, then I decided to return it. I paid shipping and ship it back to x10, they received it on 7/30, email me on 8/4. I called them on 9/9 and a lady told me it's still processing and will issue credit soon. 2 weeks pass but no refund, I file dispute with my credit card, I used google checkout and it make things little more complicated because I dispute google, not x10. Finally on 10/12, not sure is it because google, credit card or x10, I got my refund. Almost 2.5month later. Beware of this company, I will never buy from this company, even its FREE or FREE after rebate."

"I join the long list of 'this is trash'. I have been trying to get this stuff working since Dec 2010. If you have any kind of wireless running in your house the motion sensors will not work. To be of any use you have to have a crossover put in your elec panel box. Power supplies very sensitive to lightening. Picture quality on PC is junk. Vanguard software is very unstable. If you can get it installed! High level tech support? Non-existant. Every order seems to have defective parts and the replacement has been defective. Probably just returned what I sent back or what someone else returned. And now they have cut their support hours. These folks have been around for years. Hope they go out of business. Do not buy this crap!"
