"I placed an order for a Sony CyberShot DSC-H2 on a Saturday. On Tuesday, I received an e-mail to call to confirm my order. The gentleman I spoke with (Thomas) confirmed my credit card, then tried to sell me several things (including batteries, which was pointless, because the camera comes with rechargeable batteries and a charger). He then informed me that I would need a warranty for $69.99. I asked if it came with a factory warranty and he said it didn't. I had never heard of such a thing with an electronics item. I said, no, I would like to cancel the order then. He offered to send it without the warranty. I said, no, I could get one with a warranty for about the same price. He said okay, and hung up quickly. No "thank you" or "good bye." Unlike many who have posted here, he never said anything about the camera being a foreign model, but I suspect that was the case - and thus the reason for no warranty (or at least one not valid in the US)."
"This is an absolutely terrible merchant. They are the archtypical bait and switch retailer. We ordered a Canon PowerShot SD800 IS camera. The price was fantastic, at $285.00 and my wife should have known better. Nothing came, and upon checking, they said we had cancelled the order. No such thing! Then, they offered to replace the camera with a "US Model" for a significant price increase. Buyer Beware!!!"
"THE SALES PEOPLE LIE. THEY DID NOT SEND WHAT THEY PROMISED. I SENT IT BACK BECAUSE IT WAS NOT WHAT I ORDERED AND I RECEIVED ONLY A PARTIAL REFUND. BECAUSE I PLACED AN ORDER THEY KEEP 15% EVEN IF THE PRODUCT IS WRONG, THAT DOESN'T SEEM RIGHT. "
"BEWARE FRAUD! I tried to purchase a Nikon D200 camera; their price was too good to be true. After my order I received an email from the "Processing Department" to contact Jason about my order. They tried to upsell me on a better memory card and battery, and explain that the "cheap" D200 I purchased was a plastic model made in Malaysia, and that I would have to pay the full price to get the real D200. Realizing this was a scam, I canceled my order.
After canceling, I called the Nikon information line and discussed the D200 with a Nikon representative. He stated that Nikon cameras are made in Japan, and there is no "plastic" version of the D200. He said also, that places like USA Photo Nation sells "grey market" cameras that would not have a warranty valid in the USA. This confirms - the USA Photo Nation rep LIED to me about their product, FRAUDULENTLY took my order, and attempted to UPSELL me on a more expensive package which would probably have contained a GREY MARKET camera anyway!
I don't know how this company can do business this way - there are hundreds of complaints against them. Someone should investigate them for fraud and SHUT THEM DOWN.
"My story is the same as everyone else's just with a Sony Handycam. Bait and Switch. I feel like a fool. The pricing website showed them to be a safe excellent site. I wish I would have checked hear first!"
"I was conned along with many other people. I ended up paying far more than the price advertised (and which appeared on a google sponsered link advertisment).
Upselling and then not providing an itemized bill with the invoice, just a far larger bill than I was expecting. Stay away from this company."
"I was trying to get my camera Nikon D40 and they had very convenient prices. the thing is they were and still selling the camera kits without everyting on it but they don't say that in their websites.... I ordered or trying to order from them and they called me to confirm my order and said that the kit I got is sold out, so he ofered another "kit" for the regular price in well known stores. He was very rude, because I was doubting about getting or not, so right after I answer anyting he cancel my order and sent an email to me confirming that cancellation... when I was reading it he said over the phone.. "so, are you getting it or not", I said no, and he hung up right away.
I know they want to compensate the low price of the camera with the accesories, but why the put someting in a website if they don't have the intention of sell it, I'm pretty sure they have the goal of not sell the cameras only, they have to sell you something else, they speak like timeshare sellers.
As per Nikon website the Nikon D40 Kit, has everyting you need but the memory card, because is an entry level DSLR. So I can imagine that the accesories these stores they are putting on the camera are not the best quality in order to have more profit. I also, after reading that amount of complains cancel my credit card and ask for a new one, you never know with people like that.
I was just trying to save a few bucks, but honestly I lean my lesson with this scammers.
PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH THIS SITE!!!!!!!!!
also BEWARE of: ccameracity.com and bestpricecameras.com exactly the same experience, only I couldn't get thru place and order they just hung up when you ask for the camera and lens only."
"BAIT AND SWITCH - These folks are pros. I was told I ordered the wrong item - even in the fine print I was not informed that this item was not the "english version". They told me could not get me what I ordered, but only $ 100.00 more would get me what I wanted. I was told that the person I was talking to was a corporate lawyer, sure there are a lot of THOSE on the customer service lines. They hung up on me, lied about sending my item that same afternoon - twice. When I finally got fed up and cancelled, my order information magically disappeared from "My E-Bay" - good trick. My very worst experience with any retail organization. "
"Well, after reading some of these reviews, I don't feel nearly as bad as I did before. I am still VERY angry, but at least I am not the only one. I ordered a camcorder. Of course something needed to be verified and I needed to call 800 number to verify my order. Yes, this was an excuse to sell me a $189 8Hr battery, which I agreed to. However, even the MOST expensive Canon BRAND battery that I could find on-line was about $50. So I called to cancel the order. TOO late!! Already billed and shipped. So I refused the order from UPS. After these crooks received my package, the credit I was given was less than the 7% stated as part of their policy. The total package was $489. The invoice lists $0.00 for shipping, but I was informed the shipping was PART of the package. So I paid for 7% of the order plus shipping. Yes, I learned a lesson, but it was a $50 lesson. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you do business with these crooks/rip-off artists. ALSO----they have disabled the right click function of your mouse so that you cannot cut and past info listed on their web site. That should have been a clue. Digital EXPO my be the same company. I ordered a camera, but when I stated that I only wanted what came in the MFG box, I was told that my order would be shipped right away. It was not--it was canceled and I was given NO warning. BEWARE OF BOTH OF THESE COMPANIES!!!!"
"Sham merchant. I was lured in by a very low price for a Nikon D40 camera only to get an email requesting I contact the company about my order. When I called, the salesman attempted to sell me more things and then informed me that what I thought was included in the order (battery and charger) was not. The price with these two key items added was higher than other, reputable online merchants. The saleman was very pushy and accused me of causing problems when I told him I wasn't interested in additional equipment. I will never do business with this company again."
"THIS STORE IS A TOTAL RIP-OFF. THEY ARE LIERS, CHEATERS, AND HAVE BEEN REPORTED TO THE STATE OF NEW YORK ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE FOR FRAUD AND FRAUDULENT ADVERTISING. I purchased a Nikon D80 camera, lens, and accessories from a "salesman" calling himself Jason. I specifically paid $400 more than their advertised price . . . because it was explained to me that it was a Chinese model. So I ordered the Nikon USA model for an additional $400. What they sent me, was of course, the cheaper Chinese model from Nikon Singapore, not Nikon USA. Then they did not answer 5 emails, nor 3 faxes to them. My credit card company issued the credit based upon my sending them all the documentation, and I sent the camera back to them. I also took the time to report them to the authorities. BEWARE, AND DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!"
"After reading the positive reviews contained on everyprice.com, I felt comfortable in ordering two Canon SD900s from usaphotonation. However, I learned, as every other review on resellerratings.com has noted that usaphotonation.com is an obfuscating, bait and switch website. Just as with most reviewers on resellerratings.com, this company did not place my order until they called me back to try to upsell me on numerous items that I neither wanted nor needed, including high speed memory, which I ordered from them already, and warranty coverage. I also learned today, 12/22/06, that there were two different locations on their website for the Canon SD900,one a "Package and the other, the one that I ordered, was body only. Therefore they did not honor their offer for doubling the memory that I purchased. When I called to ask about my order, I got some fast-talking jerk who would not let me talk, and would not let me speak to anyone else. If the positive reviews on everyprice.com are legitimate, there must be two different usaphotonations. CAVEAT EMPTOR!"

"I have almost same story with other victims. Ordered a Canon XTi at $570. Got an email to call 800 number. Gave credit cared verification number to Vincent guy. Heard the same story: the camera lasts only 20 minutes and can take only about 10 pictures using the default battery and memory. Refused to purchase warranty. After call, found out the offer was rip-off. Called within 10 minutes. Another guy, Roger, got the phone. Asked to cancel the additional items from the order. Roger says he can't cancel and I need to talk with Vincent next morning, sayingVincent went home in that 10 minutes. Got the confirmation from Roger that they do not ship the package. Roger says "will do and don't worry about it". Next morning, got a package shipped email. Called Vincent and complained. Vincent says I should thank him, and I can talk after I receive the package. Found out the package has default battery and CF memory is no-brand taiwanese, which they claim only they sell. Then Vincent is saying I need to pay 15% restocking fee. They do not accept order item cancellation before shipping. They ship after they confirm they would not ship. And they demand restocking fee.
I filed FTC complaint. I dispute charge to AmericanExpress. I wonder whether I can sue them.
Now I wonder whether this guys sent a really new camera, or refurbished, used, or even stolen camera.
I think you guys are so nice. In my case, I can't find any reason why I should spend my time and energy to send this guy's stuff back let alone restocking fee. I request dispute charge to Amex. I say, this guys come and get their stuff. And may be I should receive keeping charge. $200 per day might be fair based on what this guys do other people.
Stay away from these guys."

"This was my first experirnce with ordering a Canon Rebel Xti. The owners and employees at USA Photo Nation are liars, cheats, and Frauds! I ordered a Canon Xti with 18-55mm lens for $480 (should have been my first clue). I received an email to call a 800 number before my order could be shipped. The person that answered, Ben is his name, told me that the camera did not come with a battery or charger. He said I'll sell you a 4 hr extended life battery and quick charger. He said together they retail for $250 but my price would be $189. Like a fool, thinking this guy and outfit is legit, I said OK. Then he said I need 2GB of High Speed error free compact flash. He said with regular flash it would take up to 30 seconds between photos as the camera waited for the picture to be written to the flash. So he tells me he will sell me 2GB flash and high speed flash card reader, normally over $300, for $249. The fish I am I said OK. Wait there is more. He then said I needed these titanium coated filters regular $200 for $169. After agreeing to purchase the other stuff whats an extra $169 for the filters. He then said he would sell me the entire package as stated above with shipping for $1099. I said Ok. WOW! When I got the merchandise was I in for a shock. The battery and charger shipped was the battery and charger that is included with the camera kit. It was not 4 hr. and there was no quick charger! Found them retail at Amazon for much much less ($39 for the battery). The flash card they sent was some cheap off brand that was only 100x. $100 or less for a known brand like Kingston. Finally the filters were cheap filters that can be bought at Amazon for $29 dollars. Yes $29 dollars. When I called customer service at USA Photo Nation, they quickly forwarded me to the sales guy Ben! First he tried to lie some more and gave me some song and dance about the products. Once he realized he had been caught in all of his lies and scam, he offered to give me a 5 year extended warrenty on the camera. When I said no, he told me to put a smile on my face and he would also send me a Corona or Bud, what ever kind of beer I perfered! By then I was quite upset and told him I wanted to return the whole purchase. I did not even get the camera out of the box or unpackage any of the other cheap items he sold me. He asked me if I was aware of the 15% restocking fee and the non-refundable $36 shipping fee. Painfully I said yes. I got an RMA# and the crap is on its way back to the crooks. This lesson in life cost me $200, if they refund the $900 (1099 minus restocking fee and shipping).
I am in the process of filing a complaint with the FTC since this was interstate commerce.
I will update this as to how the refund goes. To those that read this before doing buisness with the crooks, stay as far away from this outfit as possible.
Update: I finally got a refund posted to my CC. It was $200 less then what they originally charged! I had to pay 15% restocking fee and $35 shipping fee. Folks this outfit NEEDS TO BE SHUTDOWN! I urge everyone who has a post or who is going to post here to contact the following links and file complaints:
"Horrible expreiance! I wonder if they are in anyway affiliated with wisetronics! I got an email telling me to call to confirm my order and then they pressured me into getting a package deal, fell under the pressure and ordered it but regained my sensibility to cancel. So i called them back and to tell them i didnt want the package deal, they told me then my camcorder will not arrive for another couple of weeks cuz now all of a sudden it has to be shipped from bangledesh(correct spelling?) anyways i told them to cancel my order and that i wanted an email to confirm. They didnt send me one but instead sent me an email saying that my CCard is not allowing them to ship it to another address. So I called back again to tell them that i have ALREADY CANCELLED MY Order and that i want an email confirmation. They finally sent that to me. I checked my CCard summary after reading all these frauds that they are conducting and found out that I had two charges for 4.95$ on it. Which i never asked for. I called the companies posted for those charges and they said they were through another company and all this other crap and then they said they were affiliated with Walmart. I havent gone to walmart since i can remember. They told me they would send me an email with the recording of me asking for the charges. They never sent it, go figure! Called american express to tell them that there has been a mistake and now i have to cancel my card because i tried to save a couple of bucks. Worst expreiance ever with PHOTONATION and WISETRONICS. Dont know which one sold my CC info or maybe they both did... What a bunch of crooks. DOnt bother with Them. Save your time, not your money, buy from somewhere else. HORRIBLE STORE"
