"Tigerdirerct.com is easy to work with & easy to buy from & their prices usually cant be beat.

I go to Pricewatch.com before I buy ANYTHING online and about 50% of the time I find that Pricewatch will send me to Tigerdirect - because Tigerdirect often times has the best prices available online.

The online catalog isnt difficult to navigate, and because my order came with FREE S&H - the price quoted on the page was the price it cost me to buy the item - no nasty surprises or "sticker-shock" when I went to check out & pay for my item.

I also liked the fact that unlike far too many online sellers - I was able to CALL IN my order & the person I spoke to was an AMERICAN who spoke ENLGISH as their native language - not some foreign tech support person out of Asia, Latin America, or who knows where.

Im not worried about the security of TigerDirect's webpage - but in this day & age of viruses, trojans & spyware that can even infect your home's PC with a Key-Stroke-Logger if you open the wrong email or visit the wrong web-page - I'm concerned about the security on MY PC - This is why I NEVER use my credit cards online or do ANY online banking - because I know that if I do any online banking & my PC has been infected with a key-stroke logger - that the person who wrote it now has all of the information that they need to go on a shopping spree - on MY DIME.

As for shipping - I went with the FREE SHIPPING option and even though Tigerdirect said it could take up to 5-10days - I got my 2 LED monitors in only 2-days.

So to recap - Tigerdirect is a GREAT place to buy online because :

1) I paid less then 50% of what it would have cost me to buy the same items at a retail store,

2) they have an easy to use websight,

3) they have a great customer support staff manned by AMERICAN EMPLOYEES who's primary language is ENGLISH & they take orders over the phone,

5) the shipping was FREE & it was FAST

6) the item I paid for was exactly what I got when it arrived.

So, YES - I would recommend Tigerdirect to ANYONE who wants great deals

"Mostly pleased. The purchase was a great deal. But the tracking number on the package was not valid and never worked so I had no idea when the item was going to show."

"I would like to report a long and drawn out problem I have been having with Tiger Direct, though let me start by saying that in the past I have always hyped up your company to my friends and family because of the amazing customer service I always USED to receive from your company.

I had my mother buy a TV for me for my birthday back in February. It was refurbished but I thought I would try my luck anyways. Well, when this TV arrived it had what appeared to be 'dents' along the plastic frame of the tv. In addition to this, there is light leak on the picture in two different places on the screen.

It ended up taking me near 3 MONTHS to return this television.

The first time I called in to set up the RMA I had the operator switch the address to my HOME address which is where the TV is at. It was a birthday gift so of course the gift did not initially come to my house, but rather to my Mom's business address so she could gift it to me properly and be able to see the look on my face.

Anyways I explained this to the operator and they explained it was fine and that they changed the address. When the shipping company called me they said they could not pick it up at my home address and I had to change it with TigerDirect (even though I had been told this had already been taken care of).

Fast forward to 3-4 calls in to customer service and 3-4 weeks later, and I have STILL not heard from the shipping company, nor any follow up from TigerDirect making sure it was all taken care of.

Fast forward again to several more calls later and another month or two into the process and it still wasn't being taken care of. I eventually found out that even though the different shipping address of this order had BEEN APPROVED by TIGERDIRECT, it was in fact also being DENIED by Tigerdirect when the shipping company would try to verify the new shipping information. How the very same company can both approve and disapprove something like that is completely beyond me.

I am obviously, and rightfully, outraged at this entire experience. TigerDirect's customer service has let me down time and time again through this process (even though a few of the people I spoke to on the phone were quite nice) in this process. However some of the 'customer service' staff was downright rude, like having one person I had called in and spoke to be rude and essentially blame me for not calling AIT (even though this wouldn't fix a problem TigerDirect was themselves creating) myself. How exactly would I have their phone number? Did that customer 'service' representative think that I should have TigerDirect's number programmed into my phone? Or even remember the name of the company? (there were several other VERY rude individuals along the way as well)

Side note: When AIT initially delivered my television it had taken them about a week of it being in their possession for them to even call me. They did not call me for months during this process to try verifying anything. When everything was finally and ACTUALLY approved they still went ahead and sent a truck to the WRONG address. They are a terrible shipping company (though all the drivers are very nice and very helpful).

Now, this all DID FINALLY get taken care of. I had to order a new TV since my original one I ordered was no longer in stock. Because of this long and horrible process I asked for $100 off a TV I would be ordering immediately. Madelyn was EXTREMELY helpful and fought for me on that one and got me the discount. I though to myself "hey, maybe they aren't all bad and this was just a fluke experience". So I place my TV order and get transferred to order confirmation or whatever the name of the completely unhelpful department was.

NOW they WONT ship to my apartment unless I fax them a copy of my drivers license? But they WILL ship to my billing address or my work address (which is not on my credit card information in any way). HOW does that make ANY SENSE AT ALL!??!?! They claim that it is a new policy that went into effect the beginning of the year (as they used to ship wherever I needed them to), but what is the point of instituting such an obviously anti-customer policy? I'm sure it has something to do with theft or something, but was that SUCH a problem as to cause problems for a LOT of your legitimate customers? If it is such a problem why do none of my other favorite e-tailors practice this same thing?

TigerDirect has somehow gone from a very positive and customer service focused company to my worst online experience ever. And I order a LOT of things online. I will never be ordering from TigerDirect again, and neither should anybody else until they get all of this straightened out.

5/16/12 - Update
Well the brand NEW tv I ordered came in. The box was extremely beat up. I tried the television out anyways and a third of the screen was completely destroyed/cracked. AIT is supposed to confirm that you are at an address before they deliver, but they failed to do this. That means I was not even there to reject the shipment of the completely beat up television.

I heard from the person at our business who accepted the shipment that the TV was wedged between two palettes instead of secured in place. That was all the protection it had in it's VERY thin box that TigerDirect shipped the TV in (They actually shipped the TV in it's own 3 inch thick box).

ANOTHER fail on the part of both TigerDirect (for horrible packaging) and AIT (for destroyed the TV in shipment)."

“We sincerely do apologize for the inconvenience in the matter, your information has been submitted to our Quality Assurance staff for review. Unfortunately truck shipments are to be picked up from the original shipment address as per our Terms with the carrier. We do apologize for the time frame it has taken for the approval to be issued for the pickup to occur and for the contacts/treatment you have received from our staff as listed within your review. Once again we do apologize for the inconvenience in the matter and hope this incident will not change your opinion of our company.”

"I purchase everything online. This is my first tigerdirect purchase. For the laptop I ordered, the site said the product usually ships in 3-5 days (it still says that). As I was completing the order, the site gave me a reasonable estimated delivery date. After completing the order, they wouldn't process it until I answered 3 personal questions to verify my identity for their "security" purposes. I have literally made thousands of online purchases (many much larger than my tigerdirect purchase) and I never once had to provide my last 4 digits of my SSN or answer any personal questions for my order to go through. Then after all of that for them to get your credit card authorized, they update your individual order status online to say the item is on backorder. Really? Your website still doesn't say the item is on backorder. When I put the item in my cart and supplied all my information, I wasn't told the item was on backorder. When I spoke with the customer service and answered their questions so that they could charge my credit card, I wasn't told the item was on backorder. It was only after they got my credit card info and processed my order was I told that it was on backorder. That's just shady. Why don't you update your web site to indicate the item is on back order? Or do you want more people like me to think the item is going to ship in 3-5 days, so you can get their credit card info and hope they won't cancel the order once they find out it is on back order. That's a very bad business practice. And please spare me and the other unhappy customers the canned "We sincerely do apologize for the inconvenience in the matter.." response. It doesn't make it look like you're being responsive to customers. It just makes your company look more shady and insincere with the same response over and over. Why don't your try instead "You're rignt. We received this complaint many times. We should update our website if the item is on backorder, rather than only telling our customers after they make a purchase. We're going to fix it." But you won't do that will you."

"Had a terrible run with their customer service, most of them seemingly have no clue how to approach problems. Took me maybe 3 agents to get a payment issue worked out.

I would think twice before ordering from them again even if their product is cheaper than others. "
