"DO NOT USE SPORTS AUTHORITY ONLINE. It took me over a month to get my shoes. They gave me every excuse why I didn’t have them. Finally after TWELVE (12) calls to customer service I was told that the shoes I ordered were out of stock. Why not tell me the first time?! So I order new shoes and they promise to overnight them to me. A week and a half later I AM STILL WAITING ON MY SHOES. Finally get my shoes and they haven’t credited me back for the shoes they never had in stock. I have called THREE (3) times about this credit. It was promised that it would be issued to me each time. I even got an email that it was going to be issued. I still do not have my money. To me this is theft. Don’t waste your time and frustration on such a piss poor company. Just go to the store. They are separate and the people there are not dumb asses who cant perform a simple job."
"Fogdog is the worst! Won't honor their website pricing and their customer service people are horrible! I will never do business with Fogdog or Sports Authority again and will tell all of my friends not to either."
"Ordered two pairs of water shoes. Good prices and affordable shipping. Also offered free return shipping. Arrived promptly.Didn't like the style of the shoes and decided to return them. Free return shipping label was not included in the box, and no option to print one online. Called customer services. They were great and emailed me a return shipping label promptly. Items shipped back and refunded promptly. I would buy from them in the future."
"I ordered 3 items on line. All 3 were in stock and available at the time the order was placed. Yet, one item was cancelled by SA because it was "no longer available". I am STILL waiting for an item and when I attempted to contact customer service, they send me some canned auto response that was absolutely NO help in answering my question about the status of my order. I wish I knew the Sports Authority on-line was a complete waste of time with the worst customer service and user friendly web-site ever. "
"After reading the review several years ago by theniceguy23, I would just like to say that I just had a similar experience. I ordered a Christmas present on 11/26/2010, with the item said to be in stock. I received a great Black Friday deal, paying only $53 for a $90 item. I should have known it was too good to be true. The estimated arrival date was 12/3/2010 and the Sports Authority's website said it was shipped on 11/27. I received a UPSMI tracking number. After noticing that the UPSMI tracking number was not updating and after waiting until 12/8, I called to find out that the Sports Authority did not even ship the item (why would they say they shipped it if they didn't?!). Customer service said that they could try to ship it again, but it was now on backorder and would not arrive until long past Christmas! I'm glad I didn't wait any longer! I am still waiting on having my credit card refunded and I bought the item elsewhere (they shipped it immediately and it is now in the mail) I will never, ever, EVER buy from this company again, online or in store....think twice before using the Sports Authortiy. "
"I wish I had read the reviews here before I shopped at sportsauthority.com . Purchased a child bike seat online which was in stock and the order was soon in the status of "item located in stock". But the status just stayed there (by the time of writing, 3 days). Contacted their CS. The first guy wasn't helpfully at all and kind of rude. In nice words, he's pretty straight: if he doesn't give you a damn, he doesn't hide it. Now the item is in stock but not yet shipped out, and according to their CS I cannot cancel the order either. Frustrated. Will never buy again. There are better stores out there selling sporting goods."
"Placed an order for two pairs of Bushnell Powerview Series Binoculars on 3/7. Order status page indicated "Item(s) located in stock" for several days. Today I get an email indicating that my order was canceled because both items were unavailable. When I check the website, however, the items are indicated as available and in stock, just at a higher price. Basically, Sports Authority didn't want to honor the contract they formed by accepting my order, lied about the items being out of stock to excuse their cancellation, and jacked the prices up. All the while, knowing that it's probably not worth my while to sue for specific performance, since it's just two pairs of binoculars. Avoid this store. The communications are dishonest, and you can't be sure when you order an item whether they are going to jack up the price and cancel your order. It's worth noting, that on the order status page, they give explanations about the various status indicators affecting your orders as follows: "New -- Orders with this status are able to be cancelled for a limited amount of time." ... "Item(s) located in stock -- The items that you selected and submitted with your order during checkout are available and have been located in our warehouse." My items were located in stock, indicating that they were available. Also, since the order was no longer "new," one presumes that I would not have been permitted to cancel the order anymore. Didn't stop Sports Authority, though."
"I placed an order, than 4 days later they cancelled it without explonation, not worth it..."
"Ordered something before Christmas. Was not expecting it before the 25th but its now the 4th of Jan and still the same posting on teh web site on order status. Two calls to customer service yielded two different answers with ETA for yet another week. Agents act like its my fault for ordering when the lead times were stated as 7-10 days out on standard orders. Worst of the online experiences this season. Stay away!"
"I purchased a $339.00 BioVault 2.0 Gun Safe from Sportsauthority.com. A few days later a $59.00 pogo stick showed up at my house. The packing slip said it was the BioVault but they sent a pogo stick! When I called them they said it would take 3 to 5 days to issue a call tag to pick up the pogo stick and they would credit my account when they recieved it. I asked if they could just send the correct item to me, I don't need a refund. They said they could not, I'd have to reorder. I asked if they could next day it at their expense since this was their fault. After checking with a supervisor they said they could except it was no longer in stock. Their online operation is just like their retail stores, very messed up. I would never buy from them again and strongly recommend theat you don't either."
"Ordered some shoes from them. Got the correct pair for a good price shipped fast."
"Stay away from this company, and beware, they partner with sportmart and other retailers for online ordering. Bought a bumper pool table for Christmas, showed up without hardward to put it together - imagine my surprise on Christmas eve. Tried to get parts sent over a 3 week period, they never sent the parts, now in process of returning the product, we'll see how it goes - bad, bad business."
"I purchased a Phoenix multipurpose lifting bench from Sports Authority on Dec. 15th, of 2006. The shipping and all went fine, but when received came the trouble from then on. The box was mangled, and it looked to be opened before and duct taped over again. I proceeded to assembling the bench, and to my dismay it did not work. Some of the holes were not drilled completely through, and I called customer service right away reporting that it was DEFECTIVE. It took them a 2-3 weeks to send me a simple email RMA. I feel this is completely unacceptable. Well, I ship the DEFECTIVE product back to them, they receive it ... and provide a refund. Here's another problem that I run into. They only refunded 69.49... SHORT OF MY 19.07. I should have got every single dollar back. It was defective, and Sports Authority had to take responsibility. They listed as "refund requested", while is a total lie because I told customer service I wanted a exchange, but they could not offer, but they can offer a full refund! This is outrageous leaving out my 19.07. I will never shop at Sports Authority again because it's a total waste of time, and waste of money!"
"I placed an order for an NBA jersey on December 5 and they told me it would arrive on or before December 15. I was given a UPS-MI tracking number and a few confirmation emails. December 15 came and still no package. I had to fly out of town this whole week so when I came home today December 22, I was expecting to find the package at my door. Nothing. I called UPS-MI and they said there was no record of the tracking number Sports Authority gave me, so they advised me to call them for a new tracking number. When I called Sports Authority they told me the package was never sent out!!! They said they were going to refund my credit card but now I have no Christmas present for my dad!!! What a joke. This company should not be in business if they can't even ship out an order. Now I have to go buy him another gift somewhere else with only 2 days left."
"Terrible Experience. I was trying to purchase Razor 200 & 300 scooters for XMas. Online, the items said that they were in stock. Fortunately, I kept checking back and they did not ship. There was some meaningless comment on the status which was not in their on section explaining the status comments. I called and asked for the entire order to be canceled. They canceled the scooter, but not the extended warrentee. This came to my house. It was a single xeroxed piece of paper. I was charged for the warrentee. Now, they want me to ship this back to them before I can get credit. They gave me the mailing label since it was their mistake, but.. this is stupid to ask me to ship a xeroxed page back to them. The only reason for doing this is some percentage of people will not do it and they make 18 for a piece of paper. Not shopping here again. "
