"BEWARE!! This is a SCAM! They hook you in with really low prices on their products, but you have to call an 800 number to confirm your order. When you do, a rude, aggressive sales person tries to sell you all these expensive accessories and tell you you really need them to make the product work for you. I at first ordered the accessories, then decided I could find them cheaper elsewhere, and when I called back and spoke with the same guy, William, he told me he couldnt cancel the order even though I had just spoken with him half an hour ago, and that I had to call customer service, which was closed at that time because it was late at night. When I called customer service the next morning, expecting them to honor my wishes to cancel the order, the customer service rep. began arguing with me as to why I really needed the accessories and he wouldnt cancel my order!!! I eventually got stuck with the accessories because I got sick and tired of dealing with the jerks. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THESE GUYS. Theyre ultimate scam artists."
"Ordered a Canon A650is and received a conformation email with invoice number. About two hours later I received an email for me to call and verify my order. They tried to sell me batteries and a four year warranty. After I declined they told me to enjoy my order. The next day I received an out of stock email and my order was cancelled. All though I will monitor my credit card I doubt they want to break any federal laws."
"My first bad experience also using e-commerce. This group is clearly a problem and should be avoided.
I placed an order for a Garmin nuvi 260W Wide-Screen Automotive GPS System camera for about 209.00 on their website. They called immediately to "confirm" my order, then they attempt to sell you expensive "accessories". When I refused they became argumentative and offered deep discounts on the accessories. After waiting a few days for confirmation that my order had I e-mailed them to find out the status. I was informed my order had been canceled due to a 6-8 week back order. When I checked their web site the GPS was now $225 and still in-stock.
Clearly these guys are classic bait and switch advertising low prices that they have no intention of honoring.
"Wish I had found this site before I ordered from Techondigital. Ordered on a Saturday and they called me on Sunday trying to sell me grossly overpriced accessories. Payed $253.90 w/shipping for a Garmin Nuvi 660 which was the best price I could find after hours of scouring the internet. I should have guessed. They said 3 day delivery and after 4 days I called them to find out the statis of my order. Got the same spiel about being backordered 6-8 weeks and the next day got an email cancelling my order. Something needs to be done to these people to straighten out their act. Worst experience I've ever had ordering online!!"
"This is the worst online shopping experience i have ever had, I had to file a dispute with my credit card company to protect myself. If you read this reviews and order from any of these websites your are a fool."
"Same identical experience as all below. Ordered the Canon 850SD ($199.), Got The e-mail to confirm the order, called and spoke with Habib (aka "Scott") who then told me the camera comes with a battery that only lasts 20 minutes, so I will need to buy a better battery. So I know the deal with this guy after like 2 seconds and immediately regret allowing my greed to get the best of me because when a deal looks too good, well, it always is, so I tell the guy to just ship the camera as-is, knowing full well that he won't. He got all irate, telling me that he is an expert in the camera field and that I know nothing about these things and therefore I should trust him. Sleazebag. So when I finalize the situation and tell him that although I respect his expertise in ripping people off, that I still would prefer the camera in it's factory sealed box, he says "fine-and I will be sure that you get the 20 minute battery" and he hangs up the phone. I was almost relieved to get the e-mail telling me my order was cancelled. I wasn't sure what he was going to send. (like a Kanon camera) Listen people, bitching and moaning about this seller won't prevent them from engaging in the same illegal practices with someone else. Bait and switch is illegal and punishable and these guys need to be reported to the BBB and other consumer advocates. They should be shut down. I am writing letters to everyone including the State Attorney General. You all should do the same."
"Bait and switch. They make you call to "verify" your order. Once they get you on the phone they try everything they can to sell you accessories and extended warranties. If you say no to everything they explain that the product you'll receive will be from Japan, the owners manual in Japanese and no warranty. What a bunch of crap! Pay the extra $20-30 and buy from someone reputable."
"Got "The Call" this am. to "confirm" the order placed by credit card last week. The guy was amazingly rude when I declined to buy a "five day battery", and said I was now on the back order list for six weeks. A classic "bait and switch." They hold the stock ransom unless you agree to the switch(buy more stuff to pad the commission.) Desperados. So I cancelled. Thanks for the forum! I feel better all ready!"

"I placed the order online on techondigital.com on friday(05/16/2008)to purchase Garmin nuvi 660 Widescreen Travel Assistant with FM Transmitter and Bluetooth Technology for $265 + shipping. After placing an order i got another email form them stating that they have backorder and will cancel my order. But the interesting thing is, they reduce the price for same item fromm $265 to $245, which was very suspicious. If they were out of this item why would they redice the price?.Also, i been trying to talk to their coustomer care at 877-425-9933 but they hung up on me all the time. It seems like they are running scam and was so scare that i just call my credit card company to change my card number."
"TechonDIGIAL .. what a joke .. Same BAD experience as everyone else. Can't believe that they are still around after reading some of the other 91 bad reviews. I would have thought there was an agency responsible for allowing these scam artists to continue. Nothing but an attempt to rip off the public. I'm going to write to Visa, Amex, Discover and Mastercard, refering to this website and requesting they be unauthorized to charge anyones credit cards. Perhaps the others reviewers should do the same. Here's some interesting information:Registrant: eric tursan 83 ave o brooklyn, New York 11204 United States

"I had the same experience as many of the other reviewers. I ordered a Panasonic Camera at an excellant price and received an "order confirmation" call the next day, which was really a sales call trying to push overpriced accessories. When I declined he said he would confirm the order and quickly hung up. Today, after three days I called to find out when the order was shipping and was told the order was on hold because the camera was on backorder for at least 3 weeks (the website shows the camera to be in stock). I was also told that an email (which I never received) was sent to me on the 12th, informing of the backorder situation. So I cancelled the order. I will call back tomorrow to ensure that the order was cancelled as I don't trust that the extremely rude customer service person. "
"These guys screwed me over too. Now I just put in a bunch of orders for them everyday with concocted e-mail addresses and credit card numbers. Should keep them on their toes!! Haha, my way of getting back!"
"BEWARE OF THESE GUYS!!! TECHONDIGITAL I bought a Garmin nuvi 260W from them for $265 - even though it seemed kind of strange to me that I had to "call to confirm" the order. But I did it. The person who answered the phone tried to sell me an extra memory module (because, according to the person on the line: "we have been told that the 2009 map needs this memory to accept the new map file"), extended warranty (because: "these things break easily:), digital cable, etc. I refused all of his offers and said please just sent me the unit and what comes with it in the box. He said: "OK, fine!" and hung up. The following morning I got the following e-mail from TechonDIGITAL: "Due to the product you ordered being out of stock for 6-8 weeks from today's date. We regret to inform you that the order is canceled due to the product being on backorder. when or if we get the product again in stock soon will send you an email to place an order please do not resubmit your order again. sorry again and thanks for your understanding." No overpriced accessories = no product. Buy what you want somewhere else!! I did. c.dekanter Houston, TX"
"BUYER BEWARE!! Purchased a Canon A650 IS from Techon Digital on the 3rd. Recieved email to call customer service on the 4th. After calling they attempted to sell me overpriced unwanted upgrades. After I refused the C.S. rep "LUC" became very rude and told me camera was a gray market unit with no warranty!! He also offered to sell me a "USA" model for twice the price!! I asked to cancel order, he said ok and promptly hung up. I was surprised to recieve an email stating order was cancelled, it also had a cancellation number. I will be monitoring my credit card to make sure Techon digital does not charge me."
"DO these guys have a life?? Hundreds of negative reviews and they continue to get customers. Hard to fathom. Tried to order JVC GZ-MG330B. Great price of 279. I had read the reviews of these sellers but I thought I would attempt to get them to fork over the goods to someone who won't get scammed. I told them I already had one of these camcorders and was buying this as an extra for this low price so I wouldn't need battery. They obviously sensed I would have none of their typical BS so the conversation was short. Well the camera was not in stock as listed and was backordered for 2 weeks. I cancelled order. Recieved no confirm so I called today to sweet talk them into maybe another model or color. I asked about Xacti E1 or Xacti hd1000. Neither in stock. In fact they said no Hard drive 'corders are in stock. I informed him the xacti were not hard drive based. He was stupified. Long story short I got the cancellation confimed and that is the end of it. Don't bother trying to be clever with them. They are hoping the numbers yield a VERY FEW suckers. Could this be worth the effort, you fools? Get a real job. They seem perfectly happy in the role of recieving hundreds of phone calls from disgruntled customers. Are they gluttons for punishment or what. I'll get my stuff elsewhere as I expected but it was worth the try for fun since I was ready for the inevitable. If you choose to venture these waters like I did just be prepared to waste some time for sport. Kudos to this Wiss guy, who photographed all of these Brooklyn based scammers. So funny all these palookas I imagine sitting in their shabby dark offices fielding calls and eating cheesey nachos and grease burgers. Get a life boyz. The rest of the world has one."
