"Unbelievable! Techondigital staff are rude, unhelpful lying scammers. My experience was exactly the same as others writing above! They lured me in with a cheaper price on a Sony Handycam, then tried to oversell me on expensive accessories, lying about how the factory battery would only last minutes or that the cheap price was for the Japanese model! When I tried to return the battery, it has taken 2 weeks so far of calls and I still haven't received my money back! These people are criminals--DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM no matter how good the price sounds. The money saved is not worth the hassle."
"Total scam artists. Wish I'd found this site before ordering instead of looking at the totally fraudulent everyprice.com. I had the same experience that others here describe: confirmation phone call with rude, pushy, lying sales guy trying to upsell me. He tells me, "Enjoy your camera," then promptly sends me the order cancellation email as the camera has of course just gone out of stock.
I can't think of any possible reason to order from these people. Just buy from somewhere else. "
"I can't add anything more becuase what I read was EXACTLY what happened to me. They tried to sell me a battery and when I refused, they said "enjoy the camera" and hung up. One week later, they tell me my camera is out of stock, although it currently states it is available on line. I replied that if I do not get my camera in 5 business days then I will report them to BBB and ecommerce. Big scam...they're a bucket of used tampons. "
"For Techondigital. Bought camera. Got the confirmation call and sales pitch for battery pack (mine would leak and ruin camera), and sd card (mine was too old wouldn't work). He did actually say "Enjoy your new camera" and hung up. Next day cancellation email, he has my number, and I will do dilligent reseach of company before I give out information again."

"Like so many other reviewers, I was led to Techondigital by everyprice.com, where of course it had lots of glowing reviews. I ordered a Canon Powershot SX110 for $199 plus shipping - about $30 less than the next competitor. I got the "please call James to confirm your order" message the next day. I didn't return the call right away, and on Wed morning they called my house 4 times in rapid succession(I always screen calls at home), and hung up when they got the answering machine. At that point I became suspicious (only complete jerks do that), and did what I should have done - real research.
I sent an email to cancel the order - which they did acknowledge, but after what I've read in other's reviews, I will cancel my credit card as well."
"Like most of the reviews I read after I made my purchase I called to confirm my order. When I talk to someone they tried to sell me a a memory card for $130. I new this was way out of line but he continued to insist this was a new type of high speed card that this type of camera had to have in order to work properly. Like an idiot I finally agreed even though I new better. After I received the order I did not even open the box and refused delivery because at this point I knew that I've been screwed. To cut my loses I sent it back and it still cost me a 20% restocking fee. I will never buy from this outfit again. I will also check the return policy in the future."

Seemed like a great price. But like everyone below said, they called me to sell me $$$ accesories. Even when i said i'd take the Japanese packaging version of the camera with the crappy battery and no memory card, they wouldnt let it go. At that point they pushed me to buy the American model for more then most stores had it listed.
Waste of time, luckily J and R had it in stock and offered reasonable price. "

"Placed order on item they had in stock. when I called them they told me that my order has been cancelled because they do not have the item in stock. what a rubbish!I shall never order from this company again. They advertise it at a much lower price just to get people's credit card numbers and to waste customers time."
"I feel like my recent experience with TechonDigital.com was a con-job. My dealing with them leads me to believe they are operating something similar to a switch and bait scheme. I ordered the Garmin Nuvi-760 last week. The price was much lower than the market price, but their rating on EveryPrice.com was more than acceptable, so I didn’t think I was taking much of a chance to deal with them. After placing my online order, I received an email to call them in order to confirm the order. When I called I received a solicitation for many items that I did not want. Two days after saying "no" to the long list of items on their sales pitch, I received an Email that stated: “We thank you for your order and appreciate you shopping with us . Due to the product you ordered being out of stock for 6-8 weeks from today's date. We regret to inform you that the order is canceled due to the product being on backorder. when or if we get the product again in stock soon will send you an email to place an order please do not resubmit your order again . sorry again and thanks for your understanding .” [I copied this exactly from the email, including the grammar, punctuation, capitalization, and sentence structure errors] I have since checked their website many times since receiving the above notification, and the unit has constantly shown as in-stock. They have even lowered the price by $20.00 since I placed my order. They have yet to Email me indicating the unit is again available.
Finally today, I called in. When I first asked if the unit was in stock, the sales rep said yes. Then he told me that “the only thing it needs is a memory card”. When I told him no, he changed to saying the unit would not be available for 6 to 8 weeks. When I asked why the website shows it in stock, he simply hung up on me.
I don’t know if they have ever truly had the unit in stock, but the way they handled the sales pitch for the add-ons, I can only draw an assumumption that they have had the unit available this whole time. I don't think they will sell the unit at their advertised price unless I purchase more products that enhance their profits. If this is the case, it is very deceiving.
I’ll be forwarding this letter to both the California and New York State Attorney General’s offices, as well as to Support@techondigital.com. "
"I found this forum after I placed my order. Unlike the other reviewers, I called them first, because I had not immediately received a confirmation email. They did try to sell me SD cards for a Garmin Nuvi 360. I politely declined, and they said fine. I then got the email asking me to call, which I did. They confirmed the order, and that was it. THEN, I saw all these reviews, and I became concerned.
The next day, I received the email telling me my order was cancelled. For $40 more dollars, I ordered the item from Amazon, and feel much better and more secure."
"I found a link to techondigital.com on everyprice.com, where it had very good ratings. Obviously, everyprice.com is just as bad as techondigital.com. Techondigital is a bait-and-switch company and should be forced out of business. I can't believe that they are allowed to legally function as a business. Do not even attempt to deal with them or order anything, you will not be happy."
"I am not sure why i bought it from them but i did. I ordered a Canon 870 ($220) which is a great price. A person called me right after i placed the order online and demanded that i buy a battery because the "OEM battery only works for 15 minutes" when i questioned his judgment he immediately became belligerent and told me that he will not be able to sell me the camera without the extra battery and if i really want the camera he can let it go for $350. I promptly canceled the order and called my credit card company to put this company on the ban list.
"WOW! I normally due a better job of checking out companies. I read the reviews on Techondigital and it was a replay of the scam ran on me. Like the rest I've never received a "call and confirm order" email before. The call resulted in a high pressure sell for additional equipment from a guy named James 800-958-0054 x201. Turned him down and he gets rude. Next day I get the email telling me verbatim what the others are reporting, item is out of stock and won't be in for 6-8 weeks. A day earlier it was shipping. I attempted to call James again and he was mysteriously not there, but I got an equally rude person who made no apologizes. "That how it is." "I don't know what to tell you.""
"I had the same EXACT experience as the last reviewer. Ordered a Garmin for a very good price, they tried to sell me an incredibly expensive SD card (I didn't buy). They confirmed my order & 3 day shipping. After a week, no confirmation e-mail, no product. After calling them, they told me, "Congratulations, we canceled your order". The person, who claimed to be the owner, was the rudest customer service person I have EVER talked to. I wish I would have checked here for store reviews, prior to wasting a week. Instead I checked on everyprice.com, where this outfit 5 stars. They are definitely in on the racket."

Do not waste your time with this peoples you go an place your order , later you will receive a E-MAIL asking you to call them to verify your order , when you call them, they will try to sell you an extended warranty or overprice memory cards , if you refuse to buy any thing else the next thing is. you get an E-MAIL canceling your order with the excuse that they do not have the GPS in stock and that it will take 7 to 8 week to get it, I have my wife to call them and ask if they have the GPS they say that they have it, so when I questioned them, they treated me like DIRT with offensive language and the worst is, that they have my credit car information "
