"I ordered a GPS from ubuydigital.com and a week later still heard nothing so I called to find out where my order was. They said I needed to confirm it. I said I never got an email on that. After 30 minutes and being transferred to 5 people I eventually got back to person number 1 who immediately transferred me again. When I tried to explain I was on hold for 30 minutes I was immediately put on hold mid sentence. After doing a google on ubuydigital.com sucks I found this site and immediately cancelled my credit card as soon as I started to read the horrors out here. I was unable to confirm or cancel the order and nobody answered any of my 5 emails I sent to every address listed on that site. What a nightmare. "
"I placed an order with these losers on 12/9/07. After the order was placed,I received an E-Mail asking me to call & comfirm my order.Earlier in the day,I tried ordering a camera through Techondigital.com & was caught in the same call back & hard-sell scam. After posting a negative rating for Techondigital,I received a call from them promising to overnight me a camera at the advertised price & a free battery pack, if I modified my ratings about them. When I told this person that I purchased the item through the Camera Prof's,he said "They will not send you a camera either".It appears that all these storefront camera dump operations in Brooklyn,NY share the same scam.I told Jack at the Camera Prof's that I had the extra memory & batteries for the camera that I ordered.Jack sent me an E-Mail comfirming my order on 12/9.On 12/10,my credit card was charged $241.97. Since I had not received a tracking number,I called back on 12/13 & was told that it was back-ordered until monday or tuesday. On 12/18, I called again & they said a tracking number would be sent to me before the end of the day. The next day, still no tracking number. Called again & was told that the camera was back-ordered. My wife called earlier in the day & Charles said that the camera was in stock. After Kathy provided me with a refund number on 12/19, they never credited my credit card. Filed a dispute on 12/24 with the CC company & cancelled my CC. Small wonder why the worst sellers are in close proximity to one another. "
"When an order is placed the craziness begins.Mine was for a $230.00 Canon camera.I was emailed a confirmation and order#.The email requested me to call the 800 number listed on the website, during their business hours, to verify billing info. 2 hrs later, I received another email requesting the CVC number from my credit card. It said to just email it back.I waited until the next day and called them.I was transferred to a VERY RUDE man. There was loud laughing and yelling in the background. The very unprofessional rep asked me for my authorization code. When I questioned him about the yelling and 2 emails, he said,"Look! No one's forcing you to buy anything here."I said that I was feeling very uncomfortable. He said,"Fine.Your order is cancelled!" and hung up.I immediately called my credit card company and cancelled my card. Within 20 minutes, a rep from ICE.com called to verify a purchase made with my credit card out of CHINA for some silver jewelry to be OVERNIGHT shipped to my home. They thought it odd.THANK GOD! NO I DIDN'T place the order. Someone from thecameraprofessionals.com did! I KNOW this as I haven't used that credit card in over a year and I ONLY used it to purchase this camera!Lucky for me,ICE.com cancelled the order."
"The worst experience I have had on line shopping. I was assured it was in stock and would be sent UPS Air. The invoice said "UPS Ground" although I paid for air shipment and the invoice did not itemize the charges. I called to discuss this and they were closed during the hours that they list on their web site as being opened. They low-ball prices in order to attract suckers like me to their site and then start charging for extras without itemizing. It is hard to imagine anything bad that they have not done."
"What an absolutely miserable experience! Incredibly poor customer service, with 0 integrity. Same experience as previous reviewers -- they clearly underpriced the product (in this case a canon sd750) with hopes of selling me overpriced warranties and paraphanalia once they had me on the phone to confirm the order. Once I declined all the extras, the product was never shipped. I assume, in the end, the sale wasn't worth their while. After calling many times, finally got through. "Backordered" they told me. Having read the above reviews by this point in the story, I understood exactly what was going on. Promptly cancelled my order and notified my credit card company. These guys are crooks. Do not buy from them under any circumstances."
"I found a package for a Nikon D300 which was to good to be true. I went looking for a forum like this to check them out. I am not sure now what I found, but I think it was a fake forum, run by them because they all had glowing reviews. I took the bait, and the same experience as every one has reported here. At least no one has reported being swindled out of their money. I am reordering with BH Photo Video. I should have stayed wiht them all along. By the way they are closed on Saturday also, but they are a real retailer!"
"Worst experience ever. Ordered a HDR-SR7. Called to confirm order. They verbally confirmed item was in stock, then tried to upsell accessories. Four days later, item hasn't shipped. I call again. Item backordered, so I canceled. I wouldn't order anything from them...ever."
"i placed an order at TheCameraProfessionals.com on 12/10/07 and the camera clearly said "In-Stock". i had a weird urge to call and check on my order on 12/13/07 only to be told that it's on backorder! i asked what the ETA is, and they said "one week, but we cannot guarantee it"... well the camera is a gift and since Christmas is only 12 days away i could not risk it. i went ahead and canceled my order. i found the same Canon SD750 on newegg.com for a very good price w/ free accessories! it's worth the extra $$ to get this product from a reliable source :)
any professional company would have notifed their customers when a product is on backorder, especially during Christmas time!!"
"Read my emails below; which was all the one way street (I still have not heard back from them). Just proves how low the quality of an online store can be.....

This is my first time to buy from camera professionals and sadly it is turning out to be my worst online buying experience. I have ordered for a DCR-SR300 intermediate package yesterday, and got an email from camera professionals to call back for some credit card verification.
I have tried to call 4 times from this morning and all the times the rep takes my order no. and just hangs up on me and leaves me waiting forever. I am seriously considering for canceling my order and not deal with your site any more.
I sincerely hope that the problem gets resolved within today so that I can buy further from your site.
Hoping to hear from you Mayur Kulkarni

Hi,
Per my email below and my phone conversation with one of your rude representatives, I came to know that my order is not going to be shipped to me for next 6 weeks.
I already have asked the representative to cancel the order, but realizing from the various forums that I may be subjected to fraud, I would really appreciate if you can send me an email confirming that the order is completely cancelled (with no charge levied on me).
I realize that I am asking for too much by requesting a confirmation email for cancelling the order, but hope that there is an ounce of decency left in your company to atleast not harass the customers once they decide not to deal with you owing to your unprofessional behaviour and overall ineptitude.

Hi,
I am writing this email in anticipation that this would not fall in another black hole of your inept customer service. I just want to register my extreme disappointment and disgust at your service overall:
1. Extremely rude and inattentive reps. 2. Reps behave like they are gifting the items to us and we are not paying for it. 3. No clear communication, one rep told me that I would have to wait for 6 weeks to receive my order and another told me that I will get it once I confirm the order. Here I would also like to note that when I called 4-6 times to confirm the order and the reps just put me on hold forever every time. 4. No response to emails. It is an antithesis that I am even writing this email even while knowing that there is an infinitesimal chance of any reply.
"My worst experience online so far. I was assured that this FinePix 30 was completely new, not factory-reconditioned. And that they would ship it out the next day. Almost 2 weeks later, I phoned them and was told that they were shipping it "tomorrow". I wrote an E-mail when the camera failed to arrive again; no answer. Repeat. Then, an E-mail saying that they had shipped it... and gave me the tracking number of: NOTRACKING#. It arrived today, and, of course has enough dings on it that I can't believe it is even factory reconditioned. One ding is not the digital screen. Further, it came in a non-Fuji box. I am afraid to even charge it. Buying this camera from this store has been at least as upsetting as having my own FinePix 30 stolen in the first place. Do not buy anything from these people. I consider them dishonest and insultingly clumsy. "
"Do not buy from this store. It has by far the worst customer service department of any company I have ever dealt with. I placed my order online after many tries. They force you to call them to confirm your order but it is really to sell you accessories and equipment. after waiting for two weeks for a tracking number or at the very least a confirmation that my order was still open I got tired of waiting and called to cancel and was insulted by one of their sales people. They are all extremely rude. AVOID AT ALL COST. "
"I placed my order on NOV 19th when I called 10 days later to see what the status of my order was they told me it was back order and it wouldn't ship for 5-6 weeks. When they were going to tell me. . . I don't know. I had to cancel my order because I obviously needed it for X-mas. So it was a present that was never received. Thanks camera "PROFESSIONALS." I use "professionals" loosely. Oh yeah both me and my husband were hung up on 4 times. Customer service sucks and that's AFTER you get through to a human being."
"I ordered one of their camera packages. When I called to confirm the order, I was hit with all kinds of upgrade offers, accessories (very overpriced). Finally had to tell the guy all I wanted was what I ordered. He told me ok and he was placing my order. They have no online order tracking. They do not responde to ANY of their email links, like customer service, sales, etc. I found the whole experience atypical of an online merchant. Finally after calling customer service to find out about my "Order", it was mysteriously "backlogged" 3-4 weeks. They should know this and tell you upfront when you place the order. I definely think if I had ordered accessories or an upgraded package, it would be shipping right now. Of course, they were only too happy to let me "cancel" my order! I'm sure this is normal protocol for customers who don't bite on the sales pressure fo upgrading. I would stay away from these guys unless money isn't an issue. They will be more than happy to "upgrade" you. What looks to good to be true usually is."
"I purchased a Sony DCR-HC38 camcorder from The Camera Professionals and was very misled by their advertised price on the web. I was getting ready to go on a trip and was thrilled I was going to be able to get this overnighted to me so I could take it on my trip. When I called to confirm my order and complete my transaction like the confirmation email I received told me, I first chose the customer service option to have someone pick me up ask me what I wanted and tell me I needed the sales department then put on hold. I held for about 5 minutes before a sales person answered. They asked me my order number then put me back on hold for another what seemed to be 5 minutes. When they picked back up they proceeded to tell me that a battery and charger do not come with the camera and can be purchased for an additional charge. I should not have assumed that it came with it, but all the other camcorders I researched did come with this as a standard feature. Due to my pending trip I agreed to purchase the battery and charger. Then he proceeded to try and sell me even more extras till my $157 camcorder turned out to be $1400! I explained that I was not planning on spending that kind of money for a camcorder and he kept insisting I needed an extended life battery, a bag, extra lenses and filters.... and oh by the way, with this extra package a tripod came with it for free! I again explained that I was not planning on spending that kind of money, but the extra lenses did interest me. He ended up settling on a price with me that was below $1400, and in the heat of the pending trip, I just wanted to get him off the phone and get my camcorder over nighted to me in time to take it with me. Yes I played into their bait and switch tactics and I way overpaid for what I got. My major complaint is that my husband about a month later wanted to by another camcorder. I referred him to The Camera Professionals, but I warned him what they would try and do. He called the sales person to complete his transaction, but was not successful in purchasing his camcorder because they refused to sell it to him without him purchasing any extras. They said it was their "policy", despite the fact that there are no disclaimers on the web displaying their sale. He got into a heated discussion with them and it resulted in both parties getting mad and no camcorder was sold. I called later this evening to try and persuade them to sell my husband the camcorder at the $157 without purchasing any extras because I purchased the same camcorder from them a month prior and I already had all the extras. I was treated the same way with them stating that it was their policy not to sell just the camcorder body. I claimed they were selling under false pretenses because there was no policy stated on their advertisement and he proceeded to tell me that he had those camcorders in stock if you purchased the battery and charger with it, but if I just wanted the body then they were out of stock. I figured out that the camcorder comes standard with the battery and charger and if they sold me just the body, they would have to break the seal on a box and take those parts out therefore voiding the warranty. This is totally false advertising because they will never sell you just the camcorder body, they will just tell you it is out of stock despite the fact that they have them prepackaged. Him and I went back and forth despite the fact that I was much nicer than my husband basically just asking him questions as to why and how they can do that when their advertisement says different. Finally to get me off the phone, he told me that he would send me the camcorder body and I would have it in 7-10 business days. I can guarantee I won't see that camcorder because he never even took my credit card number for me to pay for it. What a scam. I have filed a complaint with the Better business bureau as well as the Department of Consumer affairs. I would encourage everyone else to do the same. The Dept of Consumer Affairs is http://www.nyc.gov/html/dca/html/contact/contact.shtml and the better business bureau is www.newyork.bbb.org. The offending company is The Camera Professionals, 2277 McDonald Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11223"
