"They are as bad as all these reviews indicate and I can confirm from my own experience. The point, however, is that SuperBookDeals is merely a sham business unit of AbeBooks. It is NOT an independent entity. What we need to do is stop dealing with Abe Books. Use one of the other reputable sites providing information and order processing for good used books."

"Run away. I would not use SuperBookDeals again. It took almost 3 weeks to receive the used book and they had the gall to put "Time Sensitive Material" on the package. SuperBookDeals immediately marked the book as 'sent' and provided a USPS tracking number but the book was not mailed until 2 weeks after I placed the order. I believe this is a ploy to prevent buyers from cancelling the order while they look for a copy of the book. The USPS tracking number was invalid until they mailed the book 2 weeks later - and my Order Number was never recognized by the SuperBookDeals Order Status page. SuperBookDeals has no phone number and did not respond to multiple emails. My order went into a black hole for 2 weeks with no answers from SuperBookDeals and no help from Barnes&Noble. The only shipping option was 4-14 business days which means 3 weeks. Barnes&Noble said to expect the book in 3 weeks not 'within 3 weeks'. Both claimed that the book was mailed the day after my order but the packaging labels and tracking info show a different story. I can't believe that B&N allows this merchant to play these games.

"I will NEVER EVER order from here again!!!!! I order a book for school and was advised i would recv it in 14 days which would have been on the 16th of sept. Did i get it ?? ummmmm.NO!
when i called about the book i was given a website address which doesnt exist. Now i was told i wont get it until the 23rd of sept and can take up to 3 months to get a credit back. REALLY!?......I have called my cc company informed the of the situation..."

"Surprise surprise another company in America ran by Indians who barely speak english. I ordered my book on 5Aug11 and on 25Aug11 still no book. I received a tracking number on 9Aug and it does not exist in the USPS system. I have come to the conclusion that my package was shipped horse and buggy or shall I say camel and cart. I have filed a claim with Amazon and waiting for refund. I will NEVER purchase from this company again and I wish I would've discovered this site before making my purchase."

"Despite seeing some bad reviews I decided to take a chance with this seller. My book arrived in Australia about two weeks (10 working days) after placing my order, which isn't too bad. It was well packaged and arrived in perfect condition (no damage in the post, etc.). Price wise they were about 30% cheaper than other sellers for the book I ordered. My only niggle is that they don't email you when your order dispatches and trying to track your order on their website just sends an email to their customer service. The first time I did this I didn't get a response at all (it was probably way too soon after placing my order), the second time I did this some three days later I got a response within two minutes saying the order had been dispatched. All up, I'm very happy with this seller."

"I'm very disappointed by that bookstore. I ordered a book that was significatnly cheaper then anywhere else. It's amazon price was around $40 (including shipping) and this bookstore sell it for $15 (including shipping). It also said that it will be brand new. However, they have processed it as another book by the same author and shipped me different book which was used. The one they sent me I could get brand new one on amazon for $10 (including shipping). When I sent them complaint they only referred me to a final invoice where they processed wrong book, and disregarded my claim that what they sent me is not what I bought. Such imposture is a very low thing to do, and I'm sure I will not buy from them again."

"i just recieved my 'used' copy of a book that said 'just like new.
it was in such great condition, i never would have known it wasn't new if it hadn't been listed that way.

"I've made an order on 13/1. As I haven't receive any email of shipping yet yesterday, I checked the order status using the internet order no via its website. Surprisingly, the website said there was no such an order. I sent an email to SBD and received an reply 24 hrs later:

"Thank you for your recent order. We certainly appreciate your interest in our merchandise. Unfortunately, we have had an exceptionally high rate of credit card fraud and have been forced to implement additional security measures. The credit card service companies we work with have suggested the following measures to reduce the amount of fraud. We realize this is an inconvenience and regret that it is a necessary element of our order process.

* Legible copies of the back and front of the credit card that was used for this order
* A statement authorizing Superbookdeals to charge said card with the cardholder's signature

Please reference you order number and fax the above documents to 1-410-489-5285. If we do not receive a response to this request within one week, the order will be deleted from our system and will not be able to be recovered. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us via e-mail or phone."

Although this policy sounds crazy to me as I've never encountered in other online bookstores (Amazon, B&N, Alibris), it is still fine if it send an email at once after my order. However, it is totally unacceptable as it only informs when I tracked my order!

I'll NEVER buy anything from SBD! "
