"I truly wonder to those who gave a good rating to this store... do they work for the company, or just the owner who tried to deceive us?
This kind of store should have not been there in the first place. Their service is the worst i've ever got.
Perhaps I am luckier than you guys... They hung up on me just for asking information on Canon S500. The prospective buyer was turned down.. how stupid they are.

"Although I saw several poor reviews of this store, I fell for it anyway. What a-holes. After placing and 'confirming' my order with one salesperson who tried to sell options I don't need, another called and gave a different sales pitch. After not purchasing any accessories, he cancelled my order. Their line was 'the item isn't in stock'. They had confirmed it was several times immediately prior. This is classic 'loss leader' advertising. Post a price, then change the sales terms. In this case, the overpriced 'accessories' must be purchased in order to complete the sale. Look around for more reputable vendors. Do everything in your power to get even with those who try to screw you."

"Placed order. Called for phone confirmation. Person tried to sell me battery, said I didn't need extra battery. Tried to sell me extra tapes, told him I didn't need them. Said thank you for your order.

5 Minutes later I get a cancelled order e-mail.

CROOKS. Do not use"

"On 9/24/04 I ordered a Nikon Coolpix 3200, using 2 day delivery. Ten minutes after I placed my order someone from Starlightcameras.com called to confirm my order, which I did. Then immediately he started explaining I needed a certain type of battery for this camera, with a price of $79, within 3 minutes the price went down to $49 (first clue there was something fishy). I refused to purchase the battery, he then tried to sell me an extended warranty, I also refused. My item should have arrived on Tues. 9/28/04..it did not. I called them on 9/29/04 to ask where my camera was, I was asked very rudely, "Was your credit card charged?" I said I didn't know...he stated "call your credit card company to see and then call me back", which I did (my credit card was not charged). I asked why this was not processed, he stated "it wasn't available". I said why was I not notified, he was very rude and said "not my problem", I asked if he was an owner, he said "kind of", I said what is your name, he said "Dick", I said and does Dick have a last name, he said "Cheney", I said "very funny", but I would like to know what happened to my order, he hung up on me. I called my credit card company back with concerns I had given them my cc#, they advised me to cancel my card and they would issue a new one. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SITE!"

"They automatically canceled my order without properly informing me. When I called Customer Service the man I spoke with was very rude and insulting, refused to let me speak with a manager or to give me their business license number and threatened to hang up on me several times. He finally claimed they were out of stock and hung up. I called the company back and this time requested to speak to a Sales guy from whom I asked to purchase the same camera model. He claimed they were in stock, until I told him my order had been cancelled because they were out of stock. Don't know what's going on here, but I will NEVER do business with this company again."

"This was the worst experience with an online retailer that I have ever had. The customer service was appalling. I was hung up on once, put on hold several times, and finally transferred to some jerk who wanted to just sell me accessories that I didn't want. When I told him that I didn't want the extra batteries, he told me that they were out of the product and that he was going to cancel my order. That was probably the best part of the conversation because I do not ever want to deal with this company again. I tried to email the company to give them a chance to explain but surprisingly enough, the two email addresses bounce the mail back. "

"Do NOT buy from starlight cameras! They have cheap camera prices, but they will not sell the camera alone. If you do not agree to buy their overpriced accessories, you will never see your camera. I ordered my camera on their website and you have to call to confirm. When I called and told them that I already owned the accessories, he said "you'll love your camera, I have the same one." When I didn't receive my camera, I called and was hung up on three times when I told them that I only purchased a camera no accessories. Any positive review of these people must be from people who purchased their overpriced accessories. BEWARE of this seller! I am filing a claim on with the better business bureau."

"These guys are legitimate THIEVES!!! They are rude, obnoxious and will be going to HELL. I ordered a Panasonic PVGS-120 and they called me the next day trying to sell me a battery. They told me that the battery it came with would only last 20 minutes. I knew it was BS so I didn't bite. They then told me that the camera was not available and would cancel my order. Then they hung up. I called back to ask why they would try to sell me a battery for a camera they knew was not available. They got pissed at me for asking, I got pissed back and they said they were going to cancel my order and they would "Take care of me!" I take this as a threat as they have my credit card number. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THESE HELL-BOUND CROOKS."

"I went to their site and ordered the Canon ZR90 for the unbelievable price of $318, minus $10 if I used a Discover card. They called me the next day and said that because of credit card fraud the credit card company wanted them to contact each online customer personally. He said what a beautiful camera it was and how he had one and how great it was and how pleased I would be with it. He then said that I had not ordered a battery with it. He then asked me what battery I wanted, the 2 hour or the 4 hour. I told him I didn't want an extra battery that I would use the one that came with it. He pestered me a couple more times about the battery, and when I would not give in, he rudely said that the camera wasn't in stock and that he canceled my order then he hung up without even waiting for a reply from me! I called back and went to sales and told the guy that answered that "James" had told me the camera was not in stock and this guy said " That camera isn't in stock. We don't take back orders, so what's the problem?", I asked him if they would be getting more in and he said "We don't have it, so that's it, forget about it!" then he hung up the phone on me!

I woulnd't buy ANYTHING from these bums no matter what the price and if it was indeed "available". The website shows all the accessories as either in-stock or out of stock, but it doesn't mention any stock levels on the cameras."

"Crazy scam artists. Made a mistake on the web, but wouldn't tell me about it until weeks later. Then called me an asshole and said "I hope you die." I complained to NYC BBB.
