"These are wonderful people to insure your appliances with. I've had nearly a dozen warranties in place with them for years, all placed because of a combination of positive Amazon.com ratings on the one hand and first-had experiences with Best Buy (Geek Squad) over the years on the other hand. When I finally had to file a claim myself, there were no silly questions, just got right into the problem and the circumstances in which it surfaced. I immediately received a UPS label to ship them the item – all 35 lbs. - for independent examination and soon received a very prompt Amazon.com gift card in the amount of the claim – not some silly “VISA gift card”. And the amount paid for this particular claim was the full amount, not a pro-rated amount. As you can imagine, I promptly insured the replacement unit with SquareTrade. I just wasn’t prepared to be treated so well . . . I was expecting the long, slow line at the GeekSquad, waiting twelve weeks for someone a few states away to look at it, getting more questions from that state, getting the unit back still not working, going through the whole routine again, then having to accept what BestBuy thought at the moment was an equivalent unit in their inventory, and then “welcome back to BestBuy” to pick it up. And this item I just filed a claim on was purchased at BestBuy but insured with SquareTrade instead of the GeekSquad. My experience with SquareTrade was really, really painless."

"I will never ever get a warranty from Square Trade ever again. After a year later, they still have not paid me. Even right now, I have requested to cancel my warranty and yet and still, they will not cancel and have stole my money. I had a friend who had the same problems and there are many negative reviews about this company. The people and the staff work here suck and have stole my money. I warn others to beware before they do business with Square trade, thanks!"

"I was amazed at how quickly Square Trade responded to my problem: after having my tablet wait for parts for almost three weeks, one call settled the deal and a day later the money was in my pay pal account. All in all a simple and easy process."

"It's just so refreshing to get a warranty service delivered exactly as promised and with no hassle or delay. The service was courteous, professional, and extremely quick. I won't go anywhere else for my extended warranties for electronics. SquareTrade is invaluable and I know my money is an investment worth every penny."

"Let me say that I have purchased several Squaretrade warranties over the past few years. In the past, they were very responsive and covered items quite easily. My recent experience on an issue with my iPod Touch was the exact opposite. I sent the iPod in for repair due to the Home button not responding when depressed. The iPod was shipped to "United Camera" in Bensenville Ill., which I am assuming is one of their repair providers (a little research will show you that United Camera has received 28 Better Business Bureau consumer complaints over the past 3 years and that they are not BBB accredited....why would Squaretrade use them in the first place?). The iPod was returned to me, "fully repaired", a little over a week later. Upon return, I noticed that my pristine iPod was now scratched on the back chrome plate. Additionally, after using it for a week, the Home button went back to it's old tricks again. So I called Squaretrade. The customer service representative advised me they were sending a mailing label for me to SEND IT BACK AGAIN. Needless to say, I am not sending it anywhere, for fear of further damage by the repair shop and my lack of confidence that they can fix it. Squaretrade used to have my confidence, and highest recommendation. Now, I am considering cancelling all of my Squaretrade policies as they don't appear to be worth what I paid. Buyer, be very aware.

(Update 4/16/13 - Squaretrade contacted me after publishing this review. They apologized for the situation and provided me with a total refund of the iPod. It is unfortunate it took a bad review to get their attention, however I need to give them credit for making things right. I will increase my overall rating to four stars, as this didn't need to be so hard."

"I purchased a warranty when I purchased my phone in May of 2011. The cost was significantly less than a comparable warranty from my phone provider. My phone had minor issues, and SquareTrade took care of it in a surprisingly small amount of time. My phone ended up being irreparable in early 2013, and SquareTrade offered me a full refund.

SquareTrade representatives are always pleasant. It is one of the most friendly and useful insurance companies."

"SquareTrde is hands down the best option for warranty PERIOD. In my case I bought a sound card that did not perform as I expected. Of course the retail store was of no help so I called SquareTrade customer service and within ten minutes my claim was processed and my full refund was assured. I printed out the UPS postage info (shipping was free) and within a couple of days I had a check in the mail. My next electronic purchase will DEFINITELY be covered by SquareTrade. "

"I was nervous when I purchased a used cell phone. Having a SquareTrade warranty made me feel a little at ease. I was not 100% about SquareTrade but Costco uses them so I thought they have to be legit. My used phone broke and SquareTrade quickly came through. I received a full refund the process was beyond quick and easy. I am very pleased with SquareTrade. I purchased another used phone and another SquareTrade warranty. "

"My claim was easy to submit, online friendly, quick and, most of all, great customer service when I called to follow up. My phone was not fixed but I was able to get my money back within 24 hours after I shipped my device back to Squaretrade. That was amazingly fast!"

"14 months ago I purchased a Square Trade extended warranty. My product's warranty ended by one month, I called Square Trade and the representative was friendly and very helpful. He took the information and sent me a UPS return notice. I packed the product and sent it on it's way. My purchase price was sent to my Pay Pal account before the returned product reached Square Trade. I cannot tell you how much I am satisfied with the professional response I received from Square Trade. Since then I have purchased another warranty. Thanks Square Trade "
