"Ordered on Nov 13 and stated it was "in-stock". Called on Nov 17 to get tracking # and it still hadn't shipped. This, after spending over two HOURS on hold and the previous day sending an email that no one responded. "
"BUYER BEWARE. Spytown has the best prices anywhere on several of the video surveillance items I needed. I placed an order on Sept 6, 09 for 8 cameras, a DVR, Monitor, cables, and 2 modulators. My credit card was charged immediately. The order was shipped in 6 different shipments all from different places. I didn't receive updates on shipping on any of the shipments. After 45 days of waiting on some of the pieces of my order to come in, and several phone calls to Spytown, I had to threaten to contest the charges with my credit card company to get them to refund my money. I will NOT do business with these people again. I would NOT recommend them to anyone. They are quick to charge your credit card, slow to ship, have poor communication and customer service, and very reluctant to refund money on goods they do not have in stock and cannot ship for almost 2 months. BUYER BEWARE."

"I have been buying from Spytown for well over 5 years now, and have never found a better price anywhere on the web, or had better customer service with any company I have ever dealt with. I have spent no less than $50,000.00 with them since first finding them and have outfitted 2 houses with full camera systems which include 8 DVR's and over 100 cameras. I have never been disappointed with any order from them or ever had a problem with delivery. Even though they are a retailler, I have given thier contact information to 3 contractors over the years who used to buy the products they supplied to me from wholesallers ( after they put thier 30% markups on top of it & they now use Spytown as thier wholeseller. Ask for Howard if you want the best most knowledgeable individual in the industry. This is a 5 star company- you wont be able to beat the price or the service. "These guys have one of the most detailed websites I have ever seen. Loads of information. They really seem to be on top of their game. You can very easily find everything you need at anytime of the day. No need to make a million phone calls to try and find something or get answers. And their prices are the best I have find. "I was kicking myself after placing an order with this merchant without reading all of the reviews. I placed an order for 2 items that were listed on the web site as "usually ships in 1 or 2 business days".After a week, I e-mailed for an order status update, as there was no meaningful information available on-line. They indicated that it would ship toward the end of that week. And it did.It took 2 weeks to receive my order, of which the shipping time to me accounted for 2 days.It took longer than expected, and they should be proactive about notifying of delivery estimates. But, in fairness, I did get quality, new product at a great price. So it's hard to complain."
"Do not buy anything from Spytown.com. Spytown.com is a FAKE Online Store. Spytown.com DO NOT have any products. All Spytown.com does is to pass your order to other manufacturers or stores, and then those stores will ship you the products. It takes weeks or month for the process to complete. I placed the order in Spytown.com without check this STORE, my fault. I paid $66.56 for 2nd shipping and I got the shipment after 15 days with the wrong items.I clicked the email URL link to Spytown.com web site to check my order. I am a Webmaster, I've ordered items online all the time. As soon as I see the order check page, I know I was doomed. The order page has no tracking and any other functionality. Spytown.com is 100% amateur and it is a FAKE online store without any services and products.I called their phone number many times, no one answered. Finally a Black woman answered, very rude, No help and insisted Spytown.com was not responsible for the wrong item I got and the slow shipment. Spytown.com definition for 2nd shipment means they will ship the product to you after they process the order. ---->>>> I guess that definition fits Spytown.com since Spytown.com does not have any products it shows online. It will take Spytown.com weeks and months to ship to you anything you order assume if you paid them normal shipping. AGAIN, Spytown.com is not a real online electronic store. It is a FAKE TOTALLY Untrustworthy store. I have filled my complain to the Consumer Protection Bureau in New York. The bureau is investigating this fake store since there are many people like me who have been cheated by Spytown.com"
"I will never buy from this business again. They did not ship on time. My order was wrong. They didn't ship all my order. It looked like I was give all refurb junk. "I give anyone the benefit of the doubt, we all goof things up. However I don’t like bad customer service. It took my going through the PayPal resolution center to get a credit after being ignored and lied to. "We never received your email" even though I have read receipts on all. I did get the order cancelled and the credit issued but I lost 4 weeks I could not afford and my client is not happy. Spytown behaved like a company going out of business, so be forewarned when you order from them, if it’s a coin toss on who you select to buy from avoid this company or call to verify stock and probably ship dates. "
"I too was reluctant to order from this company because of so many negative reviews. I had contacted the company through phone and live chat a few times and held for over 30 minutes and then the line died. The person I spoke with through live chat said he would get back with me and never did so I sat there waiting for a response for over an hour. At this point, I was very reluctant to order because I'd had such a bad experience with sales reps but because you can't beat their prices I decided to take my chances. I placed my order and realized that I ordered the wrong thing and I need to make a change so I called them back instantly and was told that I have to speak with someone at extension 425. Needless to say I had to leave a message and she never returned my call. I was able to reach her the next morning at 9:00 a.m. (by the way this is the best time to speak to a representative). I told her the changes that I needed to make and she had to ask a supervisor and she called me back and was able to make the changes. She was very helpful. She did tell me that she would send a revised invoice and email that I never received. Shipping was quick (I got Fedex 2nd day) and received my stuff within 2 days so everything was in stock. Because of the inability to speak with someone at all times, I do not think that I would do business with this company again. I'd actually rather pay higher prices to be honest. Although I am so happy that the lady I spoke with at extension 425 was able to change my order for me because you can not return to them. Make your own decision."
"NOT AGAIN - I ordered a simple voice annunciator from them with two day ground shipping. Simple, right? The price was good, but the shipping and service is HORRID. They do not provide tracking or update their order status database, and do not stock anything that a sole proprietorship in New Jersey has stocked and at your door by two days flat time! These guys are making me wait 6-12 business days (8-16 normal days) to even get it shipped, and an additional three business days to have it in transit. Also, they charge a pleasent 25% cancellation fee PLUS more AT THEIR DISCRETION of which you cannot be exempt. Their service department has an abrasive attitude and needs to take a group ettiquete seminar. Not my choice, not again. I will go with the small company in New Jersey, thank you."
"Same experience as the many here.1) ordered 2) charged immediately 3) week passes and no change in order status 4)called and after long wait with music was told to leave a message. called back and after long wait, spoke with agent. (sounds like the same one mentioned in posts here) was told it would be 1-2 weeks as the items were ordered from manufacturer. Asked to have the order canceled. Was told that I would have to do that "online". I asked to speak with supervisor. Agent left, came back immediately and said the supervisor ok'd the cancellation of order. 5) two days later no credit had appeared (remember I was charged immediately on day of order) 6) tried spytown online chat 2 times. window popped up saying "Dila" was in the session to help. typed my message. no response ever received (TWICE through two different sessions) 7) called and after long wait, got same agent who I spoke with previously. Said I would receive the credit today. 8) I have no confidence in this place. Customer service is poor. They are simply not worth the hassle "
"This company has the WORST customer service. I ordered a security monitor almost two weeks ago, but there is no update of order status on web-page. I finally got through on the phone to check on the status, and the lady who answered was rude, unhelpful, apathetic, unsympathetic, and generally a really unpleasant person to deal with. She said it was a manufacturer backorder, but didn't apologize for not updating the order status on the web page. She stated it'll probably be shipping within 48 hours, but I'm not holding my breath. If the site doesn't have tracking on it on the 29th, I'm cancelling my order - according to previous reviewers, I'm not alone in getting jerked around."
"Ordered the item on Sunday, they got their money on Monday. I called about my item a week later about the status of order, and they told me it will ship the day after my call, here it is 2 week later and still nothing. They will not return my calls, or emails. Their order status page is worthless. I've started the process of getting my money back from Paypal. Buyer beware, they are bunch of scams!"
"These people are cons ! They are DROP SHIPPERS and do not stock any items. They hide behind lengthy hold times and "full voice mailboxes"...Ordered an item I need for an installation and never heard back from them or got any shipping information. THIEVES-BEWARE They charge your card BEFORE immediately !!! They suck !!"
