"PLEASE DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS SCAM OF A COMPANY. THEY ENTICE YOU WITH SO CALLED CHEAPER PRICES, IF YOU PLACE AN ORDER THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY THEN MAKE IT VERY DIFFICULT FOR YOU TO CONTINUE WITH THIS ORDER BY DEMANDING ALL YOUR PERSONAL DETAILS SUCH AS DRIVING LICENSE, UTILITY BILLS PLUS OTHER POSSIBLE DAMAGING INFORMATION. BECAUSE OF THIS YOU MAY FEEL IT WOULD BE SAFER AND HAVE NO OPTION TO CANCEL YOUR ORDER ONLY TO FIND IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO RECOVER THE MONEY THEY HAVE SO QUICKLY TAKEN FROM YOUR ACCOUNT. THIS SO CALLED COMPANY SEEM TO IGNORE ANY COMMUNICATION YOU TRY TO MAKE WITH THEM BY FOBBING YOU OFF WITH ALL THE EXCUSES THAT THEY CAN COJOUR UP TO AVOID YOUR REQUESTED REFUND OF THE MONEY THEY SO EAGERLY TAKEN.THEY DO NOT SEEM TO BE BOTHERED THAT YOU HAVE CANCELLED, OR WHY, THEIR INTENTION SEEMS TO BE TO HOLD ON TO YOUR MONEY FOR AS LONG AS THEY POSSIBLY CAN. I CANCELLED BEFORE MY ORDER WAS PROCESSED, IT IS NOW ONE MONTH AND HAVE HEARD NOTHING FROM THEM TO GIVE ME ANY CONFIDENCE THAT MY REFUND IS BEING PROCESSED."
"WARNING!!! AVOID SIMPLY ELECTRONICS!In 10 years ordering on the Internet, I have had a few unpleasant experiences, but Simply Electronics beats everything. I would definitely NOT recommend it as a safe, reliable company. What happened to me in short is that I placed an order and cancelled it, then had to chase the company again and again to cancel the order. During this time, the payment was blocked / not accepted by the company. I was assured my credit card would in no way be charged. Well it happened one day after my order was finally officially cancelled in their system. I am fighting now to get my money back.See below an email I wrote to an independent company assisting me, in which I explain the story more in details.NEVER EVER order with Simply electronics! Customer service goes as far as lying to you and are probably part of the well orchestred rip-off.christina============I would like to draw your attention on a fraudulous process from the company SimplyElectronics Limited. I placed an order and cancelled it. During this time, the payment on my credit card was still pending (not yet accepted by the company). However, after the cancellation of the order was effective, SimplyElectronics did accept the transaction (one day after). Please find below a short historical review to help you get a better insight on this issue, as well part of the email correspondance, further below: - On Saturday 16th june 2012, I placed an order (# 529582-811571) which I cancelled the following day (Sunday 17th June). I received a confirmation of the cancellation immediately. - On Monday 18th June (morning, European time), I called SE to make sure the order had been cancelled. It had not, so I re-confirmed the cancellation by phone ("Brian", extension number 1030). I immediately received two emails from SimplyElectronics confirming the cancellation of the order. - 3 hours later, I received a new email asking me to confirm my order with a proof of billing adress. I called again and apparently, the order was still pending in the company system, so I had it cancelled again. At this point, I asked whether there was a possibily that my credit card could be charged, and the agent (Erika) confirmed me it was impossible if I did re-confirm my order and sent a proof of Billing Adress. - On Tuesday 19th June, I received another email confirming that my order had been cancelled and that... "a refund will be issued soon". I called again (Marina, extension 1021) and was confirmed that the order was cancelled and the payment, which was on hold so far and still needed acceptance from the company (information given by my bank), was finally accepted, one day after the order was effectively cancelled. As a conclusion: 1) According to the agent Erika, my credit card could not be charged unless I re-confirmed my order and provided SE with a Proof of Billing Adress, which obviously, I did not. 2) According to my bank, the company was still holding the acceptance of the payment as per 19 June (probably because I needed to confirm my billing adress, which was presented as compulsory in the email). The acceptance only occured one day after the cancellation of my order was effective in SimplyElectronics's systems. 3) According to the website FAQ (article 21), until a Dispatch Confirmation Email is sent to the customer (which I did not receive), the order is still an "offer" from a legal perspective, and does not construe a contract: "An automatic confirmation email will be sent to you with your order number when we have received your order successfully. However, this order only construes your offer to purchase a product from us. This offer is only formally accepted by Simply Electronics when we send you an email confirmation to inform you that your order has been dispatched by us. This email is also known as the Dispatch Confirmation Email. Any orders which have not been confirmed by a Dispatch Confirmation Email will not construe a contract". So how can a payment be accepted in the absence of contract bteween two parties? I would like you to assist me in successfully obtaining the refund of the payment (539,90 euro) as promptly as possible, and have the company to commit itself to a deadline (I was assured by agent Marina that the refund would be on my account within 3 to 5 working days). I also wanted, by these, to point out to you what seems to be a fraudulous process from the company and a very deficient customer service, resorting to lies when needed. I have heavy concerns regading the reliability of SimplyElectronics, and at this point, I would like to see the refund processed as quickly as possible."
"I ordered a Asus Transformer keyboard from these jokers. It was advertised as being instock and my card was debited immediately. After a three week no show on the order I decided to cancel. Despite cancelling the order before delivery they still shipped the order which I had to recieve and return. 4 weeks later now & they still have to refund my money...disaster of a company. Never deal with them again. Customer service had a "22 hour wait time" the other day when I phoned. One man & his dog outfit I think...."
"What can I say that hasn't already been said? Don't go anywhere near these cowboys they will take your money and give you nothing!Ordered a Samsung Galaxy Note, waited two weeks, after which time the order status still said 'new' so I cancelled for a refund. Another two weeks later no refund. Customer services are quick to respond but just give generic excuses and lies. I have now asked my credit card company to charge the money back since Simply Electronics can't be bothered. This is a Hong Kong based criminal organisation who need to be shut down. Avoid like the plague!!"
"Avoid unless you are a gambler. They advertise to ship within 2-5 days but they won't until 25-35 days. In rare cases you may get it fast enough but it's a risk you'll have to take. If you run into trouble with them, you may need to spend many months trying to claim your money back and with very small mistakes, if you are not very careful you may lose them.I've bought twice from them, the first time I had to request an order cancellation in order to get it in 40 days, second time arrived quite fast (2 weeks), 3rd once still pending and I'm now worried. It's been 2 weeks and my order still shows New, they don't reply to emails, only to threats for order cancellation and they currently did the same to a friend who is still waiting after 40 days."
"I need a high-speed video camera for slow-motion photography. The Casio Exilim EX-ZR200 camera fills this bill nicely, but was not available (yet) in the United States when I needed it. The Japanese market version was available, but at high prices and with gray-market issues. SimplyElectronics offered this camera at a resonable price with free, fast shipping, so I ordered it. Shipping was delayed, so I sent an email getting the courteous, prompt response that this camera was in high demand so there would be a few days' delay in shipping. In a few more days, I received the shipping notice with a DHL tracking number. The camera was shipped from Hong Kong, a surprise, and arrived two days later. It was exactly what I was looking for, the US market version. I've delayed my response until I actually had a chance to try the camera in the application I had in mind, and have found it quite satisfactory. In sum, I'm pleased with both the camera I ordered and SimplyElectronics' performance in filling my order."
"Simply Electronics are SIMPLY DEPLORABLE - SIMPLY CRAP when it comes to customer service. There is essentially NO customer service. You are lucky if you get your order inside of 2 weeks. DO NOT BOTHER trying to phone the customer help line - there is a standing 1 Hour wait - YES A ONE HOUR + Wait all the time - what does that say to you???. Crap company best avoided. Luckily I used PayPal to pay with - at least I have them to fall back on."
"Avoid this company, their supposedly good prices are not worth the stress. After placing order the asked for proof of identification in order for my order to proceed. I felt uncomfortable about doing this so cancelled my order, yet they still took payment. After numerous emails chasing my refund I am now having to go through my credit card company to action this."
"Ordered Fuji X10 heard nothing for nine days emailed them and was told that ''Upon packing your order, we had discovered that our shipment of Fuji FinePix X10 (Black) Digital Camera was damaged, and therefore had to be returned. Unfortunately, the replacements are not expected to arrive within any short period of time.''Yet they are still advertising this camera and that they have ten units in stock. "
"The worst company ever - they do not deliver the goods, they do not reply to messages, the phone calls do not go through. I am in the process of filing a refund request with VISA. Avoid at all costs.Andreas"
"It's difficult to understate how BAD this company is. Never ever order anything from them. They take your money and have no intention of fulfilling the order.UPDATE 15th of May. The order was delivered today. We refused it because we had recovered our payment from our bank, and bought the same item through Amazon - ONE MONTH AGO - yes, that's right a month ago."
"Disgracefull! I ordered a Kenko Teleconverter for £125 paying by Visa. There then began a series of emails from Simply Electronics as to why I could not have my item. They first said it was damaged, but I questioned that their website listed four in stock and were they all damaged? I was then told they did not know when they would be in stock again but was advised to wait three weeks. This I did but then noticed that their website was showing first 6 and then the next day 7 in stock again. I queried this and requested one of the 7 immediately, and today (5th April) received a confusing reply about them not really having 7 in stock and not knowing when they will have some. I consider that I have been patient enough and that my item may never appear and am now seeking a full refund. There were several phone calls to the so called ‘Helpline’ as well, all at my expense, which were less than reassuring. It is an 0800 number that always rings for ages, suggesting the waiting time will first be 60 minutes, and would I like to try later. Persevering however sees this reduced every minute to 50, 40, 30, 20, 10 minutes respectively and finally a tired voice answers and talks about Simply Electronics as ‘they’ rather than ‘us’ (its never clear to who you are speaking) and just suggests sending an email!I have since found out that Simply Electronics have awful reviews online with some apoplectic customers venting their feelings. They appear to have no UK address other than a semi-detached house (shown on one of the review sites), and their items come from Hong Kong. Their website gave no indication that the item would be coming from Hong Kong, and I came by it through Amazon so assumed it was okay. My advice is avoid like the plague!"
"in a word , awfull , i,m in the u.k and ordered a n archos internet tablt from s.e, worst thing i have ever done, was o.k for about 6 weeks then would not power up . started the email jungle with them and they eventualy agreed i cold send it back, this was done and they offered a replacement , i agreed and again eventuay the "new" item arrived , oh what a suprise , this one does not work, suspect it is the same one reboxed,do yourself a favour and dont go anywhere near this bunch of co mechants , pay a few $ more and get what you pay for"
"they mail they cannot deliver because of stupid reasons like: the parcel broke etc. You have to wait ages before you get your money back."
"Worse shopping experience ever. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM. They took my money 14.1.2012 and never delivered a product (Canon lens) even 10 days after they promised the delivery. I cancelled and after 40 emails, numerous phone calls (mostly waiting and getting people on the phone who could do nothing for me) and treats with my solicitor they finally paid me my money back 22.3.2012. 6 weeks later and SOO much frustration. DO NOT try to save 10-15%. they can't deliver. I have learnt my lesson!"
