"We ordered a Panasonic AJ-SD93 VTR from RITEBUYS.COM. It was listed on their web site as "IN STOCK". When we ordered the unit the telephone representative assured me that they had the unit "IN STOCK". They did NOT have the unit in stock. This particular VTR was out of stock and back ordered all over the country at every equipment dealer I could find. When I called back the next day I was told that the order would take from 24 to 72 hours to process. I asked again if they really had the unit IN STOCK. Again I was assured that they indeed had the unit and would be providing a shipping number as soon as it shipped. Two days after the order I could not get a shipping number from them, and they said that the unit was going to be dropped shipped from the manufacturer. At this point I got very upset with them since they had told me that they had the unit IN STOCK. IN STOCK does not mean that the unit will be dropped shipped from the manufacturer, it means that RITEBUYS can walk back to their store room and pull the unit off the shelf and ship it out to me!!! Three days after the order was placed happened to be a Friday and they still could not give me a shipping number. When I called them on Monday, 6 days after placing the order, they finally found a unit that had to be dropped shipped Next Day Air out of Florida. They gave me a shipping number on the phone. I asked them why they had not emailed it to me as soon as they got it like they said they would. The customer service person said that they had, but that they would resend it. I waited the rest of the afternoon for the email, but it never came. Tuesday afternoon at 2:04pm I finally got the email with the shipping number... this was the day the unit was delivered FINALLY.
This company is not to be trusted. Their customer service people are not truthful or polite. They appear to have multiple web sites with different names and different telephone numbers, but the same descriptions and CLAIMS of items being IN STOCK. When I called 4 different numbers for 4 supposedly different companies the telephone recording was the same for all 4 web sites. All 4 sites listed this particular item as IN STOCK. When I asked the customer service rep at RITEBUYS.com about the other sites there was no answer. So just to be safe, watch out for not only RITEBUYS.com, but also FOTOCONNECTION.com, TVSDEPOT.COM AND THENEWCONNECTION.COM. Do not trust these people. They are LIARS."
"Never buy from this store! I've never had problems purchasing from online stores until I placed an order with them. They were offering a great deal on a Canon digital camera, but after I placed an order I had to call them to confirm the order. When I called back they tried to sell me more stuff. When I refused they then told me that the battery on it only lasted 10 minutes. I then told them that Canon would not sell a battery that lasted 10 minutes. The representative then told me that when they get the cameras, they swap out the batteries for generic ones! I immediately cancelled my order with them. Watch out! These guys are shady."
This store is atrocious for the typical "yes we have it in stock we'll ship today" outright lie prevalent in online shopping. [There must be a system put in place to avoid this]
When I ordered, the rep was very nice and told me he can ship an item (air filter) that day. Since my order never came, I decided to try and get a tracking number and was told it never shipped. Furious now because at least I should have received notice it didn't ship.
I was on hold for a long time, a rep came on, I explained, he literally without saying anythint oput me on hold. Another rep came on and I demanded that he cancel my order. HE WOULDN'T CANCEL!!! He said "It's on backorder and you won't find it anywhere else". I explained I don't care I want to cancel. He still had the nerve to tell me not to cancel for about 10 minutes.
After finally threatening to call my lawyer and BBB, he finally sent me my cancellation confirmation.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE!!
I am not exagerrating, I will be happy to go to court if these people try to claim slander."

"These guys are scam artists! There is all kinds of information and complaints about them if you just do an internet search. They change the name of there company every couple of minutes. Stay away! I have never been treated so badly by a customer service rep in my life. After waiting on hold for quite a while and being transferred to 5 different people without explanation, I was connected to customer service. He said his name was George. I have no idea if that is his name or not. When he picked up the phone he didn't say his name. And when I asked him his name, he had to think about it for a while. I called to inquire about a camera I ordered and that UPS lost. I asked if they could ship me a replacement. He asked why. I said because I never received it. His response was "AND WHO'S FAULT IS THAT!" I said I'm not blaming anyone, and it's obvious whose fault it is. From then on every time I tried to talk he would talk over me. He said "I'm sorry if the truth hurts you" and a lot of other things that didn't really make any sense. He said "next time I will lie to you if you can't handle the truth". I told him I don't know how he ever got into customer service with that kind of attitude. And he said "I got in because of people like you!" That didn't really make any sense either. I told him there was no reason for him to attack me like this. I said "Other companies would not treat me like this". His response was "You're not talking to other companies, You're talking to this one" In light of this conversation I told him to just cancel my order. He said "We get to charge you a restocking fee if you cancel" I said "Even if I never received anything from you?" His response was "AND WHOSE FAULT IS THAT?" And then he said something else inaudible to me and hung up on me. I called back because I wanted to talk to his supervisor, but after being on hold for a while just I gave up."

"These folks have low prices, but their customer support is also very low. Getting a tracking number from them is a nightmare and the shipping company they use is worse. I would probably buy from them again for the amount of money I saved, but understand it can be a headache working with them. There are VERY scary reviews about them (calling them scam artists) on the net. That made for an uncomfortable few days when I really wasn't getting a response from them, thinking they might have scammed me. In the end everything worked out OK."
"We bought a Digital camcoder at $900. When we called to confirm, we found out we were not buying what was advertised and that the real cost would have been $1100. Then our credit card got declined, then they tried again to upsale us when we had to call. You get 5 email from different domain names with different department with different telephone numbers. We cancelled but had to call. They tried to upsale again even with a declined card! We wasted 3 days. Don't bother with them."
"Ordered an item that was listed at $379 with free 2nd day air shipping. Online invoice listed price at $379 with "$0" shipping and handling. When I received the item the invoice price had jumped to $628.95 with no price breakdown. Contacted the company and spoke with an alleged customer service manager. He advised that there was a $249.95 shipping and handling fee since I'm in Alaska. He claimed that $200 was for shipping costs and an extra $50 was additional profit for them. When I pointed out that I'd never approved a shipping & handling fee he offered to refund $50 or have me ship the item back at me expense. I've turned the matter over to my credit card company and will be reporting this company to the BBB and the Attorney General's Office for the State of New York. Unbelieveably bad experience. "
"I didn't check reseller ratings BEFORE dealing with these people nor did I reference BBB (lesson learned). They did the call back to confirm thing, tried to sell me an extended warrenty (even after I told them to cancel the order...imagine the gall!) kept running me around the organization trying to get contact with someone. "Eddie" told me that they had the item ready to ship, right there in his hands and it would go out that afternoon. The next day another scammer called trying to sell me their extended warranty and told me the item was on "back order". That's a lot different from "I am holding it in my hand and it will go out right away". This is needs investigation by authorities in New York."

"This store SUCKSSS. They are a bunch of thieves running this online site out of their garage. They shipped me a completely different product than what I had ordered without even asking me. When I returned the items backs, they are asking for a 15% restocking fee which I am still fighting a dispute for with the Credit Card Company. SO guys be aware of these CHeats..."
