"Actually I purchased my Nikon D200 Kit back in 2007 from J&K Cameras E-store that includes a Nikon DX AF-S 18-135mm G ED Lens & Nikon AF 70-300 G Lens plus other additional add-ons in the Kit. Also included was a purchase of the 5 Yr Digital Camera Protection Service Plan from Repair Tech located at 545 Broadway in Bayonne, NJ 07002.
The Last Order Date drop down list box only goes back to 2008 - so I had to select 2008.
When I tried to call RepairTech today, I got no answer, just either a busy or fast busy. Their website no longer exist. When I tried to call J&K Cameras E-Store, I also was not able to reach them.
After searching for Repair Tech via Ask.com, I found out that Repair Tech and J&K Cameras E-store are no longer in business.
I do not know which company went out of business first. If Repair Tech went out of business first, then J&K Cameras E-store should have called all its customers who had purchased the Repair Tech protection service plan to replace with another service plan free of charge through another company.
In either case, when Repair Tech was about to go out of business, Repair Tech should contact all of its customers and refund their money.
Thanks for providing the website to register in the class action suite.
J and K Camera or otherwise known as 'Infinity Camera' is where I bought my camera and they sold me the Repair Tech Extended Warranty for $500 and they are out of business too. They should not get away with this and anyone affected like me should take action. Please fill out the Class Action Suit on the link above and contact them.
No company that operates such as this one in the US should walk away from this. Please help and we'll make a difference!"

"After calling AMT warranty, the immediately re-directed my call to the FTC. I have filled a complaint with them, and they suggest that i file complaints with the Consumer Protection Division of my state and the Better Business Beuro.
I can't believe any of this is legal, my $3,000 camera is now going to cost me $400 to get repaired by a 3rd party.
Please add me to any lists that are out there, kjcdude at gmail dot com"
"I have been speaking with Repairtech and I have spoken with Erika torres and she is not a miracle worker, far from that she didn't have the power to do the repairs for my unit or settle the repairs as my warranty information had begun with a 1 and AMT is not responsible for these warrantys, and could only take responsibility for warranty's that begin with 4 as that is how there contract was written."
"Just like 'Suerepairtech' wrote..... "and to make matters worse the company I purchased the warranty through was purchased by another company so there is no customer information in their new database for me to receive a refund!" ... I must have purchased my Blu-ray player from the same online store. The lady at that store told me today that my 3 yr extended warranty from Repairtech is not their responsibility because they just bought out the store that I had originally made the online purchase from! She then asked me if I had a warranty card from Repairtech. I told her that all I had was the original invoice that lists the blu-ray player and the 3 yr extended warranty purchase. She told me that they were receiving many inquiries concerning Repairtech and like the rest of you have said 'no luck'. This woman, who was polite to me (but you could tell that she has been through this conversation before) said that her company was trying to assist the previous owner's customers as much as possible (?) She asked me to fax my invoice to her and she would talk with her supervisor and one of them would call back. I've done this and will update when (if) I get a reply. I will call the appropriate agencies listed in this forum , i.e. class action suit etc. "
"This situation sucks! I had succesfully gotten in contact with Stacey Weekes via email back in November and was told that there was a recall on my camcorder and to contact Sony directly. Very clever way to brush me off! When I contacted Sony they said there was no recall on my camcorder.
So I sent another email to Stacey and of course never got any response. Now none of the #'s, emails or websites for RepairTech are working.
I called Am Trust Financial who supposedly bought out RepairTech...they would not honor my warranty...told me they did NOT purchase RepairTech and could give me no more information.
Next I contacted Sunshine Electronics where I purchased my camcorder along with the extended warranty. They claim that RepairTech has moved but has not gone out of business and told me to try his contact at RepairTech...Lisa...lisa@repairclaim.com. I sent her an email...let's see if we get any response."
" It’s official... RepairTECH has gone out of business.
They have been in receivership since 6/1/2008.
If you purchased an extended warranty after that date, you may be covered by the current owner; AmTrust Financial Services, Inc. If you purchased a warranty before that date, you're out of luck.
Would you believe I purchased mine on 5/30/2008? Needless to say, it will be the last service contract or extended warranty I ever purchase; from anyone!

"So, I am not sure what to put in the invoice number because I purchased it from the tv company itself. So anyway I have there most expensive warranty and I have been trying to contact them for months and I mean MONTHS. They took there phone number and location off their website... how corrupt. I filed a fraud claim with BBB and they said they may be out of business. What do I do from here... if anyone is filing a lawsuit let me know. Any advice would be appreciated. My email.. sylacus@gmail.com "
"I have a couple different issues with this company and its "great" warranty. First off, I purchased a Canon camera and the 5yr. warranty from a place called Broadway Photo. I was told it was "no questions asked"; everything was covered. That was my first mistake. When we called for minor service, we were told it wasn't covered, blah, blah, blah. They had all kinds of excuses and I ended up taking it to a local photo shop who fixed the problem in 2 seconds for no charge. I recently sold the camera and have unsuccessfully tried to transfer the warranty. According to the fine print, it is transferrable if you show proof of sale, new owner's info., send them a check for $12.50 to cover costs(?), etc. I did all this and sent the letter USPS with delivery confirmation, etc. It came back a month later because they refused to accept it. Now, I've been calling every number I have and get these weird recordings and a disconnect. Their website has an email contact for customer service but don't expect anyone to ever respond. Meanwhile, I'm now stuck with a customer that doesn't have the extended warranty that I sold her. Beware of this company!!!"
"If you are willing to file a class action against RepairTech Inc, I believe it takes a minimum of 15 people. I have already emailed a law firm in New Jersey explaining my issue with RepairTech Inc not honoring my warranty. If you would like to join in please go to this website. http://www.class-action-litigation.org/thanks.asp"
"Well I called AmTrust Financial which is there new owner at 866-203-3037 and actually talked to some one. I have a 4 year warranty which i purchased in 2006 and supposedly they can't help anyone with a purchase date that far back. Which makes no sense once so ever. But for you guys that have recently purchased your stuff give them a call they may be able to help you out. If you have any luck or any more info please email me at atrane19@yahoo.com
"Pissed off and disappointed that companies like this are out there raping customers that trusted them. I purchased a 3 yr extended warranty (covered by Repair Tech Inc in Bayonne, NJ) for my Canon Digital SLR Rebel XT camera from Sunshine Electronics. Little did I know that the policy wasn't worth the paper it was on. I would get more use out of this warranty by wiping myself with my receipts!
My camera recently stopped functioning..it will not turn on no matter if you put in a fresh battery. So, I call Repair Tech's 888 number and hear a message to get redirected to some 903 number. I call the 903 number and just get an annoying disconnected number sound. I continue to try to call them over the next couple of weeks with no luck. So what to do now? I call Sunshine Electronics who sold me the policy and ask them how to get in contact. The guy tells me he's heard that Repair Tech was having phone difficulty but to email his "buddy" Lisa at lisa@repairclaim.com and she'd be able to help me out.
I email Lisa who sends a reply to me that I need to submit a claim on the website....but she fails to say which website. So I email her back and ask her to specify the website. She emails back and says "repairclam.com". It's now obvious that her attention to detail was purposefully lax as this company doesn't care to honor its warranties or hear from its customers. I submitted my claim as instructed and am still waiting to hear back. What frustrates me further is that I think Sunshine Electronics and probably other vendors are aware of this issue with Repair Tech but are still advertising and likely selling their policies.
If anyone else who's gotten ripped off and raped by Repair Tech Inc/ Repair Claim is planning on suing, let me know. I think a class action suit is necessary and I've got all my paperwork/receipts. We can't let these guys get away with this!

"I just received information that RepairTech has been purchased by a company called the AM Trust Group. They will be operating under the name RepairClaim. Both have websites so you may be able to contact one of them and receive more information. Here is a phone number I was given 877-418-8324. Good luck and please post any results of contacting this company."
"Seriously, can we take these guys to court? This could be the worst, lying, beating around the bush bull**** I have ever encountered. Not only are they impossible to get a hold of, all they do is redirectme or give me some other crap to try and delay my issue. I have a Samsung DLP 56" HLR-5667W with purple and pink snow on the upper 2/3rds for the TV. Purchased May 11, 2006 with a $500 MyRepairTech 3-year Extended Warranty.
After 6 weeks they have casually informed me there is no one in my area that can service my TV. I LIVE IN SAN DIEGO! We not talking some small city in Montana that populates a dozen people, four bears and a couple ducks. Hell, either way I paid $500 for this, I don't care if they have to fly from the Philippines to fix my TV!
Ughh, so frustrating... after reading the BBB and this site I have concluded that we are all screwed. If anyone would like to further pursue legal issues with this company I have all my receipts and paperwork and would be more than willing to take them down. Email me.. Derek.. at djaeger15@gmail.com.
