"Radio Shack spent two weeks advertising this as a new unit. It is not, it is a demo unit. They are coming with different firmware versions and suspect warranties and availability of map updates. Basically, Radio Shack ran a scam for two weeks. I ordered one unit. Then I got a refund. When I called back they told me they had new units and shipped me another. It was also a demo unit. They insisted that it was not a demo unit. Now they are saying that they are new units mistakenly marked "Demo." But look Radio Shack itself is listing these as "(Demo)'s" now.
Buying from Radio Shack is a big waste of time, they are likely to send you something used and hope you don't return it."
"I rarely walk into the store let alone buy online but on may 1, 2009, i purchased a Vtech® Disney Princess Carriage Laptop™ for my god daughter. they were a little slow in shipping out the items, but did provide shipping confirmation via email and the item did arrive on time by ups. item works great for the sale price they had. Though i would say their shipping is much higher than other online places for same item."
"I bought an Axion portable dvd player so that i could watch movies on a long road trip. The device played one movie, then stopped working.I found a Radio Shack in Colorado Springs and took the player in; they confirmed it was not working and kindly switched it out for a new one. I haven't had occasion to try using it again til now, and this second one is now not working either. I took it back to the original store with my receipt. They had zero sympathy, since i had not purchased a service plan or replacement insurance. WHO buys such a plan for something that costs $69.99? So, I let them know that it will be last time I set foot in one of their stores, and I mean it. I could understand if it broke after having it 6 months or a year, but this product was a "lemon" from the start. No wonder it was on sale. "
"Radioshack cancelled my order for an Altec lansing im600 without me knowing...until it was too late. No one even tried to help me. Our conversation below:
Wrote: I already talked to one of your associates about this issue. I know the explanation of how my order was placed and canceled by some sort of discrepancy between the order and the warehouse. What I don't understand is that I tried to order this item 6 times previously but was told it was out of stock. Another time I was ordering it and by the time I placed the order I was told it went out of stock. So I know, for a fact, that an order cannot be placed unless an item is in stock. So I was told my order couldn't be filled because the item was out of stock, despite COMPLETING an ORDER, BEING TOLD it was IN STOCK, and RECEIVING A CONFIRMATION E-Mail. I am upset because these were christmas presents and now the sale is over AND NO ONE at radioshack is willing to help me! I think this is ridiculous and I can't help but feel like I'm being swindled somehow. I want to know what can be done to fill my order for the price I actually ordered it for. I know it is available now for $150. I would like it for the price I ordered it for. I want some CUSTOMER SERVICE, where someone actually helps me instead of giving me an excuse that is of no benefit.
According to your website orders are cancelled for (2) reasons: 1) Cancelled on 00/00/0000 due to invalid order information If an error occurs during the order authorization process it first goes into suspension while we attempt to reach you for verification, and then it is cancelled. Once an order is cancelled it cannot be processed and must be placed again on our website in order to proceed.
2) Cancelled on 00/00/0000 due to invalid payment information Due to missing or invalid payment information, your order was cancelled. Once an order is cancelled it cannot be processed and must be placed again on our website in order to proceed.
My order being cancelled was NOT MY FAULT, but I am being penalized. If your warehouse has a mix-up, why do I lose my order? As a known company fairness and customer satisfaction should be the goal. I hope you can take care of this issue for me.
Thank you,
RA
Their WORTHLESS Response:
Thank you for contacting RadioShack.com.
We apologize, but according to our records, your order was cancelled because it was out out stock not because of a processing error. We regret if this has caused you any inconvenience. We operate a real-time inventory system that updates the content of our website twice a day. Your order was received and processed before the site was updated to reflect the change in inventory. Unfortunately, your order could not be fulfilled.
We are unable to provide a time frame of when we may receive more of the merchandise in our warehouse.
Again we apologize for the inconvenience.
If you have additional questions, please visit our online Help Desk. Thank you again for contacting us.
Sincerely, Chris B Customer Service RadioShack.com.
Thank you Radioshack for being a complete waste!! I hope you go out of business."

"I have read some of the reviews after the facts, that is, I had bought a ipod dock, Altec Lansing IM600, for one third of its original price of $149.99, new (by the way, that little boom box is quite amazing, of course nothing comparable to a Bose but it does a decent job in reproducing sounds, to the ears of a non-audiophile, like me). I am glad I did not read those reviews because I'd have hesitated in buying from Radio Schack. My experience with Radio Shack was excellent. I was supplied with a tracking order #, which I received within hours of placing my order. Shipping was free, and standard, ground delivery. I placed my order on the 17, and it was on my door, FedEx, on the 20th! Now, I would invite anybody to tell me if that is not excellent service, especially when Chicago was blanketed with iced roads, and sub-zero temperature, with myriad of road accidents. Will I buy again from Radio Schack? A definitely, resounding yes!!"
"I purchased 2 cameras from radioshack.com. The deal said that there is a $50 Mail-in-rebate on the camera. After the order was placed, when I opened the MIR form, it said that the MIR was applicable only if I purchase a printer alongwith a camera. So I immediately called the Customer Service number (1-800-843-7422). Their representative "confirmed" that I was good and I can ignore the online MIR form. He said that I "need not" purchase a printer. Also he said that I'll receive a MIR form alongwith the package and I should send that form and not the online form. When I received the order, there was no form inside. So I called Customer Service again. Now they said that I should have purchased a printer and that my order was not valid for MIR. By now, I had already gifted the camera to someone:-( Radioshack refused to own their customer service representative's mistake. I even talked to their supervisor (Mike - Emp No 73718) and he was rude and not willing to help. I am not doing any more business with Radioshack. ALL - BE CAREFUL OF THIS STORE. "
"Lack of support by real people over the phone, an endless selection of automated message response system before you get to talk to a person. Also ordering system leads buyer to believe that the order is being processed and shipped when the only thing that was done is an shipping order label has been issued but product is not on its way or even in stock as they show online when ordering a part or item. Very frustrating to resolve issues so I will not shop online there again."

"I was very displeased with this company. I ordered a Refurbished 30GB Zune MP3 Player and received an email soon after saying it had gone out of stock but my order would be filled when it came back into stock. Later that day I received a conformation email saying the item was back into stock and would be processed and shipped to me. Within 12 hours the status on the order changed to canceled. I did not cancel the order so I emailed customer service and after a full day's worth of emailing back and forth was told, because there was a glitch in the system, more orders were taken than could be filled, and my order was canceled because of this. They told me I would have to wait until the item came back in stock and reorder it, I was not pleased with this response because it was a problem on their end so they should have fixed it. I called customer service today, and after being transfered 5 times and sitting on hold for over an hour collectively, the woman I spoke with, Ester, told me the same thing, that I would have to waste my time to wait until the item came back into stock and reorder it. I told her this was unacceptable, and that the company should at the very least leave my order open, so that it could be filled when and if the item ever comes back into stock again. She told me she could not do that. I asked to speak with her supervisor and she would not let me and gave me instead a mailing address to contact them and the SAME email address I had been communicating with yesterday. I pointed this out to her and she told me that it couldn't be the same address. I made sure she was aware that I will be posting my negative experience on the internet and that NO ONE should do business with their company because they do NOT care about their customers."
"I bought item #330197 amp listener with equalizer
and I have no complains on service or equipment"
