"Great experience, actually. Great price on a beautiful 36" ProV Chimney Wall Hood. We got it within one week of ordering. I inspected it and there was no damage at all. Packaged very well and nothing was missing. Then I boxed it back up and stored it until we were ready because we gutted and redid the entire kitchen ourselves on the weekends as we could. As you can tell by the order date (April, 2012) we took awhile to get to the range hood. However, we finally did it in November and I wanted to live with it for a bit before doing the review. Almost three months of flawless work. Dimmable lights, adjustable fan - very powerful (900cfm max) and surprisingly quiet with it's inline fan and the 10" pipe we used (for anybody doing the project themselves - I highly recommend semi-rigid flexible pipe - godsend to work with in our situation. Remember though - semirigid which is all metal. Not the plastic/mylar stuff. That's not code.) It's beautiful and looks fantastic in our kitchen. I wish I could add pictures but I don't see that option. My only complaint is the lack of directions on the electrical hook up. Nothing in the included paperwork, nothing online and I really am good at finding that stuff. There was plenty on how to install it otherwise, just nothing at all on the electrical. My father in law is a very experienced licensed electrician and he was stumped for about 15 minutes, which is saying something. After some experiments, he figured it out. His comment was that nothing in the guts of it says "UL listed" which some electricians will not even work with. Now you have to understand that he didn't see anything inherently wrong with the wiring or think anything looked suspect. He would have rewired it himself had that been the case. It was just a little confusing, mostly because they had no instructions for the electrical at all. Actually, that's not completely true - the blower itself had instructions on how to wire the control/power to it, just there was nothing about wiring it to the controls, if that makes sense.Note: This was with a remote inline blower with a variable control. I'm fairly certain we would have had zero problem with a local blower because you just have to have a receptacle to plug it into and they have videos to show how you do that. Conclusion - beautiful, very well built, very functional, well-priced product that was easy to install if not somewhat confusing to wire. "Disappointing response to damage out of box.I ordered a hood several months ago, and the hood has been waiting for the remodel to progress to the point of install for the hood. My contractor just took the hood out of the box and the chimney had a dent and scuff marks indicating it was damaged in the package. I figured, no problem, call the manufacturer and have them replace the chimney that was damaged in the box. Their response: that'll be $99.95. The website says you have 14 days of warranty on the product. Pretty shoddy for something many people are going to have to sit on while their remodel moves along. I would recommend staying clear of this company as they do not appear interested in customer satisfaction or standing behind their products.Regarding the discount that was offered, it seems quite surprising that the chimney would be 25% of the total product cost. That does not seem like a discount to me. As far as the product being onsite for 3 months, it was stored in its box in the garage (out of elements) and had nothing placed on top of it as I was conscientious of the fragile nature of this, or any, appliance. The same was true for the oven, glass cooktop, and dishwasher. We had a problem with a tub leak in the dishwasher once it was installed (2 months into the process), and the retailed shipped us a replacement unit no questions asked. That is the level of customer satisfaction I expect from appliance manufacturers and retailers. Clearly I didn't pay enough attention to the 14-day rule or the other many complaints against ProLine, so I guess I have to learn a lesson the hard way. Finally, I re-read the product warranty. As I read it, there is a 2-year warranty on "electrical and other components" against malfunction or defect. The warranty further states that the purchaser must contact ProLine within 10 days of discovery of a defect to satisfy the warranty. I discovered the chimney damage today, contacted today, and am within 2 years of product purchase. I don't get how this is not supposed to be covered as a defect within the warranty stipulations."
“Unfortunately, we do have policies and procedures we need to follow. If you would have called in within the 14 days we could have had this picked up and taken care of with our shipping company. Even when customers call in and it has been 30 days we always try to meet halfway with customer on the cost, as we did with you. We offered a discounted price on the chimney and also free shipping, even though it has been so long. You have had your hood and chimney on the job site for over three months. We understand that appliances are sometimes not installed as soon as you receive them. But, we also know that when appliances sit at a job site they are moved around a lot and that can lead to them being dropped or smashed by other packages that are also waiting to be installed. That is why we have it stated on our website to take it out of the box and check for damages. At this point we do not know if the damage occurred during transit to you or while it was sitting at the job site. Your hood is covered for 14 days for shipping damage and comes with a one year warranty for labor and a two year warranty for parts. If you have any questions on warranty and returns, please feel free to call us at 877-901-5530. Thank you!If you were to take a look at the other chimney prices listed for the model you ordered, you can see that they are listed at $174.95 (10' chimney: one 15.75" and one 36" piece) and $264.95 (12' chimney: two 36" pieces) and that is not including shipping. The pricing for a 8' chimney is $129.95 plus whatever the shipping is to your location. As you can see the chimney prices vary in the height, not in the pricing of the hood. If we were to send you that chimney with no discount and charged you for shipping your cost would be $144.95. We are offering you a $45.00 discount. Your two year warranty does not cover damage to the chimney or the hood. That is why we have the 14 day policy for that. The electrical and other components would include parts like the control panel, circuit board, baffle channel, latches, light lens, light housing, etc...Your chimney being damaged is not a warranty defect. It was not inspected when you received the hood. The first two videos that are listed at the top of our home page, are about exchanges, returns, damages, and also what you need to do when you first get your hood.”
"*”*”WARNING*”*BE AWARE”*” anyone doing business with PROLINERANGEHOODS.com should consider another company= bought range hood in August 2012, renovating- Professionally installed in august by licensed electrician. Electrician could not get it to work. It never has worked!!! PROLINERANGEHOODS.com has given me the run around for months. SUPPORT TOLD ME TO TAKE THE FILTERS OFF AND FIND THE FUSE AND REPLACE IT. THERE ARE NO FUSES - ITS A COMPUTER BOARD/DIGITAL. PROLINERANGEHOODS.com said would ship new computer board- I never received it. After questioning their shipping they would send a new one. PROLINERANGEHOODS.com sent a new touch pad (not the board we discussed)- I had to install it (ASKED FOR REPAIR MAN TO INTALL/FIX BUT THEY DO NOT HAVE ANYONE, SAID WAS EASY TO INSTALL) - touch pad was not the problem. I asked for the new board that I never received in November 2012. Its been 8 weeks and now PROLINERANGEHOODS.com says it will be another 2 weeks as of 1-16-2013. I have never been treated so badly with any product I have ever bought- ONLINE OR IN STORE.Its been since August 2012 (install) and I've yet to have my $600+ rangehood work. PROLINERANGEHOODS has sent one wrong part for ME TO INSTALL to fix the failure to work. ITS NOW JANUARY 16TH 2013 and I still have to wait for a part that may never come.BTW- When I called 1-16-2013 a girl answered the phone, I asked for support- she was support. She said the board was ordered 12-25-2012. It was discussed to send new board in November but they ordered it on Christmas day?!?!? :) During this delay several times I had asked by email for an update on a two week delivery that’s now been 6+ weeks and I’ve yet to receive a reply. This company is a JOKE!!! Save yourself the hassle BUY FROM ANOTHER COMPANY!!!ProLine Range Hoods, LLC1750 South 500 West, Suite 200Salt Lake City, UTAH 84115 USATO BE CONTINUED…Oh yea - you are probably wondering why I just did not return this catastrophe. I had waited too long to test it after receiving it. PROLINERANGEHOODS return policy- report any shipping damage within 14 days. Took photos of original board still connected and an image of shipped board. Emailed each IMAGE to Proline on Monday February 4th ASKING FOR ADVICE ON THE CONNECTIONS. I just received response from Proline February 11th that they were to turn over the issue to a manager. It took a week to review the email. "I ordered a 36" island range hood from ProLine on January 6th and received it on January 10 - in perfect shape and working great. I also ordered a set of charcoal filters, which did not arrive. I called customer service this morning, spoke to a very pleasant lady (Danielle) - who picked up the phone on the first ring and said she would ship them out today. My only complaint was that I had been looking for a long time for this hood as I wanted dimmable LED lights - not halogen. The video does say this hood had that feature. When I ordered I sent along a note asking about this as the spec sheet said something totally different. Well, they are not dimmable lights, but it's ok. I'm tired of looking. I was pleased with the service. I thought their videos were very helpful."
"I believe this is a scam so stay away from proline range hoods wherever that company is. Ordered a hood a whole month ago from their fancy website, nothing has been received as of today. Called the toll free # numerous times during past 4 weeks, only one time a woman picked up telling me with an attitude that it took at least 20 days to ship the product. It's been 30 days, nothing happened, except that they charged my credit card immediately after I orderred online. Can never reach anyone there again by phone. I had to call my credit company to report the scam. Oh I did received an email today 12/31/12 from proline saying something like "your order will be shipped by the end of the week or beginning of next" which most likely is a lie. Even if I do receive it, now I knew it would be a piece of crap anyway so I wrote back to cancel it (no one answers the phone but looks they are hiding there to respond emails). Worst online purchase experience ever. So be cautious and do some research (for real customer reviews not their own 5/5 stars fake ones) before ordering anything from Proline Range Hoods. It's a scam, period."
"30" Wall Range Hood PLFW 129j.30. Delivered as promised without delay. Packacging was good and product arrived without sctatches.Daniele A of Prohoods even called me to check out if we needed assistance in installation. The unit installed easily (as per my contractor). The unit runs perfectly and very quiet compared to the old one it replaced. The touch controls, the led lights, and the oveall look of the unit are definitely 5 stars. Customer service (particularly Danelle) deseves 5 stars too."
"What a horrible company to do business with. Since not receiving any type of notification on the progess of my order, I called to inquire and was told the model I ordered that was in stock were all damaged. They offered to substitute a similar model that would ship that day. I accepted since I need the vent hood to finish my project. I received tracking information via email the following day which showed it was scheduled for pickkup by fedex. Three weeks later and multiple phone calls later, the range hood still shows to be sitting on their dock. They can never give you an answer and always have to call you back, but no one ever does. Their management is always out of the office. AVOID DISAPOINTMENT AND STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE."
“We have tried to contact you multiple times to try to resolve this. Our records show that the hood was delivered to you within a few days of providing you the tracking number to you. You have posted another review about not receiving a refund. We will not be providing a refund since the product was delivered. Please contact us so we can resolve this problem. Thank you!”
"DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY.11/2/12 Place an order for a vent hood $1,166.00.11/5/12 They charged my Visa Card and sent me an email that the order was printed for Ohio Warehouse. 11/26/12 I called about the hood. I was told that item had not shipped but I would receive a tracking order shortly.12/2/12 I cancelled my order.12/10/12 They issue an email saying that they would credit my Visa Card.12/14/12 Still waiting for the credit. I am going to refute the charge with the Visa, but Bank of America policy is that you have to give the merchant 15 days from cancelation to issue the credit before you can refute the charge.Final Analysis. Interest Free Loans: It seems to me that this company is using customer’s credit cards for cash flow. They charge the card before the item is shipped. You got to wonder if they even charge cards without the items in stock.Stars 1 or 5: I agree with the review below. I suspect that the company is providing it’s own positive reviews. It does seem odd that it’s either 1 Star or 5 Stars and nothing between. The negative reviews are filled with details.I have learned my lesson here and I will never buy from a online company without checking reviews first."
"We just completed a remodel of our kitchen and installed a ProLine Range Hood in my kitchen. It took a couple of weeks to get the order delivered and I used the video installation guide to help me understand how to install it. I had to get in my attic and ad some support beams to allow a good solid structure to to screw into it for the installation plate. It took 3 of us to hold it in place and attach the hood vent to the support bars. It can be alittle tricky getting the pipe vent through the hole along with the electric wire so we tape the wire to the top of the pip and pushed it through and all is good. Looks great its the center piece of our kitchen and its the first thing people notice in our remodel since its an Isaland Vent Hood its quite visible. I'm ver pleased with the quality of the product and the price is hard to beat and I would recommend them."
"I'm surprised to see the negative reviews! We ordered a range hood online November 9 and it was delivered November 17. My husband and I installed it ourselves and it looks great and works well. Only problem we had was that the instructions weren't very good, but we figured it out.I would recommend using this company to anyone."
"I found my experience with Proline Range hoods to be excellent! I had been searching for a specific style hood for a short while, learning as I went. I finally came upon the Proline range hood which had all the features I wanted at much less than the competitors price. I even preferred the look of the hood better also. I ordered my hood online on 10/24/12 and it was delivered at my home in Virginia on 10/31/12. The box was in great shape but I immediately opened the hood and plugged it in to confirm it worked. It did, and looks great! Great addition to my newly remodeled kitchen! Unlike prior reviewers, my experience with this company was excellent."
"Very good service. packaging was exceptionally well done (heavy stock cardboard, foam filler, chimney and hood was peel off plactic wrapped as well. Item was back ordered bur was shipped quickly when available. On line video instructions were quite helpfull. Included installation instructions could be better."
"I purchased a ProLine 30 inch hood and couldn't be more pleased with the total transaction. The hood is comparable to hoods costing two/three times as much. I will do business again in the future."
"I added my 2 cents on a few of the other comments made by others that were negative to ProLine. Our experience with this company mirrors theirs with almost the exact verbiage. We would never recommend this company to anyone, and cancelled our order once we figured out who they were! Interesting that their customer service when told of our cancel took it like it's a common request without any inquiry to why or any attempt to save the business. Our recommendation is not deal with this company at all.........run away! With all the trouble and half truths we have been through with ProLine just to get our item to ship we are hoping we don't go through the same to see our refund. Just so it's out there.....When they say the item takes 15 days to ship what they mean is it takes 15 days for them to process the order to ship! the actual shipping takes another 15 days "IF" that's even true..........we did not wait to find out and cancelled the order. Our story too includes the containers blocking the warehouse doors.....What! you dropped containers in front of your only access to your stock! Interesting business model!"
"I ordered a hood on 10/23/12. I got an email on10/25 it was shipped fedex. Number was not found by tracking. On 10/25 got another email it was shipped fedex freight. Number not found by tracking for 5 days. Finally called and told I would receive it on 11/8/12. I did. Took it out of the boxes. Found 4 screws in a bag for installing and a nice 2" scratch in the front of the hood and no installation instructions. I immediately call to tell them about my problems. I had to call about 3 times before anyone pickup. They said that I needed to send in a picture of the scratch. I did plus That I needed instuctions and the proper hardware for the installation. I ask for someone to call or email me. Heard nothing. So I called must have talked to the same rude gal others mentioned. She said they the bags of four screws was all I was to get. I said well pick it up she said 'fine, We will pick it up Monday'. Enough said don't deal with these people!!!!!!!"
