"DO NOT DO BUSINNESS WITH DY- NASTY. Total Scam. Attempted bait and switch. Purchased Camera and then they CALLED me and insisted I buy accessories which I refused. One week later while trying to get status on the order was told the item was on back order and I should have gotten an email stating that. I told "Victor" (after I was put on hold for over 5 minutes) I never received an email other than the original order confirmation. He said I have sent you one. I then asked how long for the back order to ship and he told me 6-8 weeks. When I said that was unacceptable and I would cancell the order, he told me Ok it is cancelled. I checked my email immediately and discovered he (Victor) had sent me and email stating the back order AND cancellation AT THE SAME TIME, WHILE I WAS ON THE PHONE WITH HIM.
Obviously, this was not Victor's first rodeo. He knew what was coming. It is apparent they never expected to ship the camera body(a Sony a200)withiout my buying the accessories.
DO NO BUSINESS WITH THESE SCAMMERS>

"I purchased a Nikon 18-200 vr lens, a 72mm filter and a 5 yr warranty from Photo Dynasty.
1st)The sales rep sold me a 5 yr warranty.
2nd)Lens arrived in a Nikon Box that included a 5 yr warranty from Nikon.
3rd) Called customer service at Photo Dynasty and was told that I was sent the wrong lens that I should have had a black market lens that was not made to the same quality. They told me that I was rich so I should just be happy with my better lens. The customer service rep said Photo Dynasty was a small company and they couldn't afford to reimburse my warranty insurance and again since I was rich I should just be happy with what I got.
4th) Being worried about the rest of my order I looked on their web site for a 72mm filter. I and was told I was getting a top of the line glass filter. I was charged $99 for this great filter. Today I called their sales department and asked about the 72mm filters and was told that the carried one made by the Mercury optics for $69.00. I asked the sales rep how the Bowers filter compared with the one from Mercury optics and I was told that it was of less quality. So basically it was the old bait and switch. I asked the sales rep to talk to the owner of the company - he had no idea who the owner was and that instead of a sm family business it was a multi-international corporation.
5th) I called customer service dept 3 times and after waiting on hold for extended time the phone started to ring and then went dead. I would assume that when they saw my telephone number they just hung up the phone.

BOTTOM LINE - DO NOT TRUST PHOTO DYNASTY"

"Amazed by the low price of the canon HV30, I unfortunately jumped on the bargain. With my family's vacation starting the following weekend, as well as my oldest son's last soccer game of the season, and the twins' dance recital, I made sure to get 3 day shipping, so I should have the camera by Wednesday, or Thursday at the latest. I got a phone call on Monday morning from Victor confirming the details of shipping, which was followed up by emails. I told a co-worker about the camera I was getting. He told me he was going to get the same camera, but he had a bad experience with the place he bought it from...photo dynasty, and he never got his camera. On Thursday, when I still had not received the camera, I called the customer service line. I waited on hold for 25 minutes before hanging up. Today, Friday, I get a call from Michael at Photo Dynasty, asking what battery I want shipped with my camera. That's right. It hasn't shipped yet. I ask if they can overnight the camera to me and eat the difference between overnight and 3 day shipping. Michael assures me the owner, who is in California (I don't know what that has do do with it, but that's what he said), wouldn't do that. They are liable. For what? I'm not sure, but Michael said because they are liable (but not reliable), they cannot eat the cost of shipping to make good for their customer. Then he tells me photo dynasty is owned by buy.com. Again, I don't know what this has to do with our conversation, but there you have it. "So you want to cancel your order?", he asks. "OK. No problem.." and hangs up on me."

"Fraud. Fraud. Fraud. I hope my review gets posted because I don't have an invoice number. Photo Dynasty hung up on me after the got my credit card number. Same story as most people, gave CC number first, was told battery is disposable not rechargable and for $220 more they would send the battery that is supposed to be shipped with the Sony. The salesman is stupid enough to answer me that the camcorder is useless after the disposalbe battery runs out. I said "Really? I've never heard of Sony selling cameras with disposable battery and so is the camera when the battery runs out"...then immediately told me "I just checked and we're out of stock" then hung up. I called AMEX immediately canceled my CC. Also reported to AMEX Fraud to watch for Photo Dynasty. There seems to be a lot of scammers in PC and Photo/video online stores coming out of NY and NJ....beware."

"I had very bad experience trying to buy an extremely cheap Canon Rebel XTi kit online. When I called to confirm my order, they asked me if I need a battery for it. Yes, of course. But then when I found the price for the battery kit (it was extremely overpriced) I decided to buy just a kit. They said they only have kits with battery (which is $300 more expensive) and if I don't want to buy it, I'll need to wait 2-6 weeks without guarantee that they will have this kit. I called several times, was on hold for ~ 30 min or more. Talked to several sales people and they all told me the same - I only can buy with a battery. They even told me that the camera is not going to work with my battery because it is a studio kit and camera body doesn't have a firmware installed on it. Finally I just cancelled the order. Hopefully it was cancelled, because I never got a cancellation confirmation email from them."

"Photo Dynasty has deceptive sales practices. 1) PD splits the Canon G9 box and sells the camera WITHOUT the battery. 2) Then hey advertise 2 tyoes of batteries for sale (reg & "long life") neither of which are equivalent to the normally-included Canon NB-2LH. 3) The pushy sales person then "upsold" me to a third more expensive extended "4-hour" battery. When it arrived,I received the original Canon 700 NB-2LH and a 3-rd party 900 mAh. The two "cheaper" battery options listed on their website are NOT RECOMMENDED for the G9 and are BELOW manufacturer's specs at 300 and 500 mAh respectively. 4) Four phone calls later PD's customer service agreed their "bait and switch" was confusing and sent me an additional battery and memory card, making the deal more palatable but still very low in integrity. "Major issues that are still unresolved! Working with my credit card company, sorting out legal remedies, etc. According to the BBB, 1008 complaints over the past 36 months. That is not a typo -- 1008. They do business under a bunch of names, including photodynasty.com, Best Price Cameras, Enterprise Photo, J&K Cameras, Inc. "

"Stay away!!! Can I put it any more plainly. This company is a total scam. If you want to get ripped off, leave your credit card on the sidewalk. It will be a lot less painful.

What a bunch of losers. You order something, you ring to confirm and then they proceed to tell you outright lies - no battery, no charger. Listen to your gut - is what they say reasonable? When I told them to just cancel the order I was told they would have to charge a restocking fee. If you have already been duped, tell them to send your stuff and cancel your credit card immediately. They won't send your order since they won't make any money on it.

So, say it with me ... STAY AWAY FROM THIS RETAILER.

Buy from AMAZON.COM.

Oh and one more thing ... Isn't it funny how Photodynasty can get 5000+ positive reviews and Amazon often has a pidly 10 or so. Doesn't sound right does it? Again, stay away!!!

"So along with others' experiences I placed an order for the Canon Rebel XSI camera (body only) for $409 and a 3 year warranty to go with it. I got an email a couple of days later to ask me to call a specific extension and talk to Jason.

I spoke to Jason who informed me that I'd placed an order for body only - which didn't include anything, battery, charger, strap etc. It was not the 'body only' product on the Canon website. He tried to persuade me to upgrade to the full body-only kit (battery, charger, strap etc). I said I'd call back...
I looked into the prices they were charging for the battery and charger and they were considerably more than market price! Then I started reading these reviews and decided to cancel my order. I called Jason back and cancelled.

What is deceptive here is that the website states that everything is included in the order - the body-only kit does include batteries etc.

This is just not a reputable outlet. It was just too good to be true.
