"My story isn't as bad as others. Bought a 32" HDTV for a great price. Looked good out of the box. No scratches or dead pixels. Worked great for 3 weeks then started to get a hazing effect over the screen (like gas had spilled on the screen). Called customer service and had no problem. They referred me to a repair shop where I had to take the TV. It was about 15 miles away which I didn't like but not a huge deal. Repair shop took 4 days to fix and I haven't had a problem since (well expect that it turns itself off and then on again about once a week). I am hesitant to purchase again but I would consider it."
"Wish I'd paid attention to the reviews here.1) You get true refurbs here - damaged and dented. They are poorly packaged - very little protection during shipping. The items are wrapped in baggies tied with bread bag twist ties, all jammed in a box.2) As you might guess, good luck if you need to do a return or get repairs.They have the most ridiculous system. You contact customer service, then have to FAX (not email, not call) your info in. After a few days they CALL (not fax or email, not an option). All they do is give you a number and say to call - apparently it's some warranty confirmation process. Any company should be able to do that inside 5 minutes."
"The worse experience ever. TV came DOA. Took three months of constant calls to get some one to fix it. They will keep transfering you to someone else who then transfers again and so on. Took another six months for it to come back. Avoid at all cost!"
"Horrible experience with Philips. Order a 50" plasma HDTV from their outlet store. It took them forever to process the order and ship. When the item was delivered, the delivery and installation specialist opened the box and we were horrified. The TV was very used, in horrible shape, with multiple scratches, including two huge scratches on the screen. The delivery person was freaking out. He said the TV looked like it was used 4-5 years. He actually recommended to us to refuse delivery, which is what we've done. Now I need to fight with Philips to get my money back. Do not buy from their Outlet store, especially not the refurb items."
"Lets just say I will *NEVER* order from Philips again. These guys are awful!Where to start? I bought an LCD 15" HD TV factory "renewed" from these jokers less than a year ago. When ordering, I accidentally had the product sent to my wrong address. Their customer support would not let me cancel and reorder, change the address or do *anything* about it. Sigh. Well, I figured, that happens. I was able to make arrangements but can't they allow at least the cardholder to cancel the order within, like, an hour of the order?But the REAL problems started later. Several months in, my apartment was broken into and the AC adapter was gone (probably because the TV was hooked to several other things, it was spared). Thus began my trials. Over the course of SEVERAL MONTHS I called and called and called their "customer support" people and they gave me FALSE dates that it would ship (always saying "it is scheduled to ship today"). I have at least 10 "reference numbers." It took two months -- and god knows how many hours on the phone! -- before I finally got word that "the bin was on hold." So I cancelled the order and bought it on eBay instead....Until the power cable showed up anyway. Another series of long calls ensued where they, basically, told me that "the facts" were that I hadn't cancelled the order (i.e. the final customer support person I talked to hadn't cancelled it like I had asked). They refused to let me return the product without paying for shipping and "restocking" myself. For a product I had cancelled weeks before! Plus they were calling me a liar! (To date, I have not been refunded for the rest of the cord, which I sent back)Then, as if that was not bad enough, the TV stopped working last week. Less than a year in, the screen just went black (its not a cable issue, the whole thing is kaput). This thing has been NOTHING but trouble and, shall we say, I will not deal with their rude and stupid "customer service" people again.I rue the day I bought that TV from Philips. They are nothing but trouble and annoyance (and shipping costs for things I don't want)...and a poor product that died early. Not to mention how little they seem to value my time. I swear they will never see another dime of mine!"
"I think this is a junkyard store. I bought a 26 inch HDTV and they send me a dead tv and told me to bring it to repair center. I brought to repair center and it is been month yet they have not repaired yet. so never ever buy from philips outlet."
"Horrible, horrible company to deal with if there are any problems. I purchased a dvd recorder from them last year. It was refurbished but it came to me fine and it was a good deal so when I went looking for a TV, I chose Phillips Outlet. BAD MOVE!!!! I got a TV with an incorrect power supply and the back of the remote was missing. After speaking with their customer service many times, I got a new remote control. The power supply is supposedly backordered and every date they give me is a complete lie. I have a $400 paper weight right now. I already gave away the tv I was replacing so I have no tv in my kitchen. Their customer service likes to tell me how they are doing me a good one for even ordering the power supply. Oh, the customer service agent just got through telling me that refurbished products are not guaranteed to have everything or even work - lmao. What a complete joke. This place may have good prices but if you don't get everything, beware. You may as well bend over and stuff the product up your rear because once you speak with this company's customer service, you will wish you did it yourself instead of waiting for their screwing. I am just so mad at them right now.UPDATE: I finally got my AC adaptor. I didn't give u p. I called their customer support and found out I had been talking to the people in the Phillipines before. The American CS agent told me they have many problems with the PI techs. She started a return shipment for me just to have it picked up and they give me full credit. The day before they came to pick up the TV, the adaptor arrived out of the blue (funny, the Phillipines agent told me it was out of stock still). I have the TV, I am able to turn it on and I am cool with everything. I spent I don't know how many hours working on this. It was not worth it though. Unless you get the really great CS agent I got in the end (thank you!!), I would beware of these guys. "
"STAY AWAY FROM PHILIPS OUTLET. I can NEVER belive a multi-nation giant electronic company treating customers like this. First the TV I ordered came CRACKED, DIRTY, and complately DEAD right out of the box. (The website advertised it as "factory renewed", which is obviously a lie). Then the customer service is horrible. They made me wait at least an hour plus to even reach a live person to talk to. Then they give me this BS saying their policy stated no returns on refurbished items. I pointed out that I am returning it due to FALSE advertisement. After threaten to report to BBB/FTA and credit card, the CSR finally agreed to arrange return. 60 days after the return, still NO refund! Called 3 times in between and CSR always told me it is still in process. I do not believe how it takes them 60 days to process a simple refund. I finally lost my patient and filed dispute with my credit card. Boom! within 48 hours, the refund shows up on my credit card statement. I will NEVER buy anything from Phlips again."
