"I purchased a new 1GB PC3200 DDR400 Memory which there ad on e-bay said would work with my chipset k8t800. They sent me a High density module instead of the low density one I needed. Just like the rest of the complaints below I got the e-mails about the 3 options. So I suggested option #4:because it was there fault. They should pay for shipping both ways and exchange the memory for the proper one. Of course they said it wasn't possible and said I'd have to pay an additional $38.71 to get the low density memory. So much for there Lifetime Warrenty!! After 10 days of e-mails and not getting anywhere I give up. This outfit is clearly a scam and should be put behind bars. Don't trust them. Just read the comments below. I will never purchase from them again."
"Buyer Beware! Quick shipment on a DEFECTIVE product. I tested the 1 GB PC2700 in 3 computers and no luck. I then took it in to a local computer store and the guy tested it and it didnt work their either. I sent numerous emails without response on replacing my defective RAM. I understand they are busy but I wanted to confirm they had received my email before my return window was gone. After doing some research and finding this page I decided to call. Guess what, the same complaint as most people on this site. They said they would email me my 3 options, which I already know them from reading here. Each will require me to pay them more money to replace, test or give me a refund for a defective product I paid for. I offered to come to their store which is 40 miles away but they didnt want any part of that. They told me they would email me instruction on how to return this. Im sure it will be a long process and not worth my time for the 36 bucks. Im very lucky I didnt have to spend as much as most to learn this painful lesson. "

"I placed the order for a mobo combination that included a mobo, memory, cpu, cpu cooler. The memory was 256 mb. I optionally bought an additional 1 gb & I bought a hd. It took 4 days for them ship. When I received the order, the 256 mb was missing - only the 1 gb stick was included. Sent them an email about it the same day I received the package - so far no response. Went ahead & installed the mobo, cpu, fan & memory. At 1st power up, mobo did absolutely nothing - no beep code, no video, nothing. Sent an email about the dead mobo after I had done everything I could think of trying to get some kind of message from the mobo. Forget 24 response; after a day & a half, I finally received an email telling me how to submit an RMA request. Too late, I started looking into the company. After reading many other complaints about the sorry service, I have decided to punt & just eat the loss but I'll never buy anything else from them. By the way, their PriceWatch claim of Free Shipping is bogus; they try to up-sell at every turn. Their order process attempts to add all kinds of add-ins for $8-10 more all the time."
"bought 1 stick of cheap ram, they web site says it supports my motherboard. Doesn't receive any confirmation/shipping emails at all.
Received ram in timely fashion. Tried it, it doesn't work (shows 512mb). Sent 3 emails back (1 day apart) and finally received a response.
They said that my motherboard doesn't support high density ram, so they're willing to send me low density (guarenteed to work) ram for 33 dollars more including shipping. I went on their site... Saw the exact same ram to 10 dollars more and emailed them this finding. They said okay, send 13 dollars for replacement ram. Still waiting for ram.
Here is their exact words:
> We also get frustrated customers who mention their 1GB module is showing >as >512MB only and in every case memory has been working fine. If a motherboard >is NOT compatible, it will show that you only have 512MB Memory or >sometimes >even less. > > Don't worry I will take care of you. You have three options: > > Option 1 > > If you wish an exchange for right module, I DO GUARANTEE LOWEST PRICE AND >make sure you get RIGHT COMPATIBLE MODULES. It is jungle out there if you >are looking for right module, and I promise to take care of you by being an >honest and right guide. > > For compatible memory, I have a MicroX / Buffalo brand which would be the >right choice. They are the same company who make modules for major >companies >and is FAR cheaper than them, also offers a lifetime direct warranty and >excellent reputation with at the right price point. > > If you need correct, compatible module, this option is the best one. >Compare the price and please compare apple to apples. This is NOT OEM or a >Generic brand that I am recommending, but a certified hassle free solution. > >You had paid, $47.00 USD for High Density Memory on the auction, but that >is >not the right modules you for, so for right type of module - Low Density, >EACH module would cost $ 77.50 USD > >UPGRADE to compatible Hassle Free - Certified Low Density 1GB PC3200 Memory >- It will cost you an additional $33.50 USD (Price includes Return shipping >of $3 back to you).
After finding out that a they're selling the same ram for $57 on their site (free shipping), this email made me really angry.
Just the way they try to sound helpful but really tried to rip you off is terrible.
I ordered 2GB PC3200 400FSB DDR (1GB x 2) Memory Dual Channel Kit W/Lifetime warranty (HD)
Only one chip works. They ignored my emails, I finally called them, and they b*tched at me for submitting a bad review at PriceWatch, where I had responded to their ad. They insisted I go back and change my review, which I could not because PriceWatch only lets you submit 1 review per month for their stores. They issued an RMA, but I had to pay for shipping. I did so, and they returned what I think is the same chip to me, it doesn't work either. I called them again, they said a technician would email me in 1/2 hour. I have not heard from them, I tried calling back repeatedly but the phone is busy.
I will now take the matter up with my cc company."
"Ordered RAM on 3/6/07, which was received on 3/12. RAM was not functional, so an RMA was requested. Site states a reply with RMA number and approval will be received within 24 hours. Two weeks later, still no RMA number, and several followup emails have been routinely ignored. I would stay as far away from this place as possible."
"This is the worst company ever. I called on the Saturday after I received my 'upgraded' motherboard (the one I ordered was 'back ordered', so they would upgrade mine at no cost - too good to be true I know). I even upgraded the shipping to avoid damage .. worthless. I received the item, which had clearly been opened and maybe even installed. I received the product on 3-8-07 and saw 'Call within 72 hours if your product is damage or wrong'. I called Saturday and spoke to a lady whose English was horrible, her name was Ann. She told me their server was down there was nothing they could do to call back Monday. I explained to her that was after their 72 hour notification she told me to reference her name and she would make sure it was ok. I was informed Monday when I called of their ridiculous RMA process. While I was on the phone with them I filled out the RMA form. I have still yet to receive the RMA via Email. I called Wednesday 3-14 and was told they emailed it to me WHILE I was on the phone. I still have not gotten the email. I have now tried to email them as I am clearly not getting anywhere with the people on the phone. I too will not stop until I have a full refund. *** WARNING *** DO NOT SHOP PARTSPC.COM!!!"
"Very very unhappy with PartsPC.com. I had to contact PartsPC.com to even process my order. Then a PartsPC.com representative tried upselling me other products/upgrades. Finally, I paid for the overnight shipping with expedited service (yeah right, I had to call PartsPC.com to even get the order processed)... and then PartsPC.com blames DHL for what is more than likely their shipping method mistake. So now my package did not arrive on time. I am not placing another order with PartsPC.com again."
"I ordered the Athelon 3800+ combo w/ASUS motherboard. Got a call right a way that they were out. First bad sign. Switch and BAIT. I accepted the downgrade if they would install the extra fan I bought. They agreed and I purchased the 3700 instead. I ge the box and no fan installed. The original fan is not included and the extra fan I purchased is missing parts. I call them. "But SIR the fan will get damaged if we ship it attached, However if you have paid extra for installment we would have done it and shipped it" HUH? So damage if I don't pay OK if I pay extra. Then they say they will call me back. I get a call from somone telling me to call this number. I ask why they don't call me and I get some BULLS*** excuse. They think they are so slick. Call us on your dime; I call stay on hold for 5 minutes. Get a guy named SAM. He agrees with everything I say and says my small purchase makes no difference to him or the company. He sends me an email to give 14 dollars back for the downgrade on the processor. I mention that the original fan is not included even though the combo clearly mentions it as a part of the package. OOOH YOU THINK YOU ARE SO SLICK. The additional fan I purchased has no paper work and the mount for the fan itself is missing. I also mention that in the email back to SAM. I got no reply so far. HERE IS A HINT PARTSPC.COM, customer service should not be determined by the purchase price, also don't insult my intelligence by telling me to call you. OH, I wonder if you can do me a small favor and call my customer service so we don’t have to pay for the call. "
"PartsPC either has raving fans or big complaints - mainly regarding returns. Before I purchased from them, I did lot of research - what I needed where to buy & prices. I researched different companies and chose partspc. I read terms on wesbite read as many reviews as I could. To me spending $2000 is not small change. After reading reveiws, I called them few times, and when felt comfortable I placed the order. I dont think when they called it was bait and switch, because they actually suggested better hardrive which was on their site for same price. They called to confirm information and ask if I needed any help or anything else before they ship order out since it was big order. System I received is working fine. When ever I had called them they were good. Couple of times I was on hold for 5-10 minutes, but who ever came did their best to give me as much information as I asked.
I asked them about negative reviews I saw here. Answer the service persson gave was - They deserve it sometimes, but they do best to do what is reasonable, but cannot keep everyone happy. They are trained to do what ever they can within terms and conditions but also be helpful. Unfortunately many times they can not help and then they get negative feedbacks. I suggest before you place order, call them and see how you feel"
