"I ordered a 2-pack of HP ink from Office Depot. It arrived promptly 2 days later, but it had expired 2 months earlier. That means it's what, maybe 2 years old? I called to complain and the rep said she had never heard of such a thing and couldn't imagine how it could have happened. She arranged for a return and had a new pack shipped to me. Imagine that! It had the same expiration date. When I called again the rep arranged for another return but did not offer to replace it. After multiple hassles I still have no ink."
"I am also on the HP touchpad boat of angry customers. Office Depot screwed up, but made no attempt to even send me an update (I had to check online myself). Spoke with managers and again, rude and angry. This is the last time I deal with Office Depot. I'd rather give my business to Staples with the way Office Depot handles their customers."
"Placed an order of two BP cards at sale price, received confirmation letter with estimated shipping/arrival dates. Did not get the cards by the estimated dates, then I went to the website the check my order status, only to find that the order magically disappeared. They didn't even try to send out an email notifying me about the order, they just pretend nothing happened!! Amazing service!!!"
"I spent almost 4 hours to be able to order a Hp touchpad 32 Gb from Office depot website on 8/20/2011. Everything was going smoothly, and I got a arrival date on 8/25/2011. On 8/23/2011, I got an email to confirm that I would get my item on 8/25/2011. However, the items never arrived, so I called my local office depot (in Hawaii) to check about my order status, and the manager sound very unfriendly, and told me there was no more Hp touchpad, and they won't have it in the future, and just cancelled my order immediately. He didn't even say something like "sorry, we did make a mistake". He just said that he didn't know who sent me the confirm letter, but whoever told me I would get the touchpad was wrong. I didn't mind if they told me they didn't have the item when I ordered it, but why told me I would definitely get my item on 8/23/2011. If they told me earlier, I would try to look for other places, and I would not sold my old tablet. From this experience, I can tell Office depot's operation system and their IT department is very disorder, who are their managers really need to compensate all of this."
"I had an offer for a free gift card with purchase. That gift card has yet to arrive despite countless phone calls, emails and live chats. Rajeswari Hariharan & Saranya-Kumar promised repeatedly it would come, but it never does. Rajeswari Hariharan & Saranya-Kumar just string you along until you get fed up enough to give up. This is what I get for doing business with an India based customer service group. "
"I ordered two Anji Mountain Bamboo chair mats from Office Depot online, on two separate occasions. Their price was the lowest available for this bamboo office chair mat, and they shipped this heavy item free of charge. They indicated a delivery date about two weeks from my order date, which seemed rather long. However, on both occasions the chair mat arrived in good condition several days before the indicated delivery date. In the meantime, when I tried to track the progress of delivery using Office Depot's email link from my order data, I kept getting an uninformative "in process" result -- even after the day of actual delivery."
"Office depot has a large selection, high quality, and always has ink in stock. Best thing is their reward program, which gives you quarterly reward money which can be used in store. "
"2 orders, twice wrong, nothing but pain in returns. I'm done with you."
"The following is a copy of the complaint I just filed with Office Depot:My husband and I ordered a HON® 310-Series 5-Drawer Letter File, Black (989467), Order #562857306-001, on April 28, 2011. Upon arrival, the filing cabinet had a large dent, so we decided to return it with the intention of purchasing another one.On May 9th, when we called to schedule pick-up of the item, we received conflicting dates from Office Depot and the third-party delivery service utilized by Office Depot, May 10th and May 23rd. It was picked-up from our apartment by the third-party delivery service on May 10, 2011, return confirmation 563815589-001.We were waiting for the refund to go through before purchasing a replacement filing cabinet. When the refund to our credit card had not been processed on May 23rd we contacted Office Depot customer service and were informed that their information indicated our item was scheduled for pick-up that day. It took speaking to several different people to explain that the order had already been picked up and that we were given two pickup dates. Customer service then provided Service Request Number 2025253, told us the request was put in with the Office Depot Resolutions Team and to anticipate a refund within three business days. When the three days passed without a refund, we contacted customer service again on Tuesday, May 31st to follow-up. We were told the “research team” is working on our case and given the same response to expect a refund within three business days. Today is June 3, 2011 and we still have not received the refund to our credit card. In the meantime, we have purchased the replacement item from a competitor.I have done a lot of business with Office Depot in the past, especially while I was a school teacher. I wanted to inform you that because of this incident we will no longer being doing business here. I have been grossly underwhelmed by the customer service we received, and we still have not been refunded $399.99 (+S&H) for an item that we returned nearly a month ago. If our money is not refunded in a timely fashion I will be following up in small claims court. Thank you for your attention to this matter."
"Got a great deal for a corner desk online. Missed my pickup date and the store in Plano, TX still held it for me. When I arrived, they even helped me load it into the truck. Excellent service."
"i got an awesome deal on a desk combo. ordered it online for instore pick up. when i got there, i showed them the confirmation, and two of the employees helped me load it in my truck. no hassle at all, and great price"
"Super customer service. I forgot to add promotional codes to my order and according to Office Depot policies, I shouldn't have gotten the discounts. Customer service helpped with the problem, the canceled my order and reorderd it A bit of a hassle, but I was pretty happy overall."
"First off, I'm not blaming a particular store location, but I am saying that their service is retarded. So we begin.COMPLAINT #1I make a purchase online and have it as pick-up in store to save on shipping costs. In my confirmation e-mail, it states this:"This confirms the order you placed for pick-up at your local Office Depot Store. You will receive a separate email notification when the order is ready for pickup."I never received that separate e-mail, which is supposed to confirm that my order is ready to be picked up. I end up calling them and they finally tell me it is ready to pick up. Why must I, the customer, go out of my way to check if my order is ready to pick up? Are you not selling me your product and services?COMPLAINT #2When checking out online, I wanted to pay with credit card at the store itself. However, I am only allowed an option of cash and check (who still uses check?). I choose cash, thinking that they'll also allow credit card since it's no big deal. When I get there, I am told that I HAVE TO pay with cash. Because I chose cash as the method of payment, I have to use cash to pay. That I completely understand. However, I wasn't allowed to choose "credit card" as a method of payment online. Why is that? At the register, I see a credit card machine right in front me and yet you tell me I can't use credit card as a method of payment? Ridiculous. They tell me the only way to get my product at that price is if I come again with cash. I mean I don't mind paying with cash, but I didn't have enough cash on me at the moment. There was nothing I could do unless there was an ATM of my bank outside of OD.CONCLUSIONI just wasted my time and effort. Right now, I'm contemplating whether or not I should even go back and get the item. And even if I don't get my item, I bet they're not even gonna call me and ask if I'm still coming to get the item. I mean, they didn't even tell me that the item was ready to pick up."
"Can I give less than 1-star?I ordered a phone from their website and they cancelled my order without even telling me. I emailed their 'customer service' and was given the runaround by 3 different people.I can't say enough bad things about Office Depot and their lack of "customer service"."
"Wow, my story is like many others. Ordered a laptop that was in stock then became unavailable several days later. Don't they have any concept of inventory control? No notice, just silence. I call to find out why it didn't ship and was told (1) it would ship on time then (2) it will ship a few days late then (3) oops... we really don't have any to sell. Their solution was to try to sell me a laptop with a 2" smaller screen, inferior processor and, by the way, $100 more. They do not have customer service, Office Depot specializes in customer disservice. Never again! There are other choices, spend your time and money elsewhere. "
