"In the past I've purchased computers for personal or for work through Dell and other similar vendors. This was my first purchase through a custom builder. I would purchase from KC-Computers.com again without any hesitation. Communication with KC via email was a pleasure and their responses were very quick. Even some odd hours emails I sent not expecting an answer until the following business day were answered in short order. Exceptional (and crazy) level of service. When I ask KC for some suggestions about the configuration they didn't try to up-sell me a bunch of stuff I didn't need, they just made some very reasonable suggestions, which I'm happy I followed. Promised delivery time meet. The unit came well packed with all the goodies left over from the motherboard, sound, and video cards in the box. I had to swap out the sound card to get a feature I wanted and KC handled this immediately. Best of all the PC is smooth and smoking fast and it didn't arrive loaded up with bloat/trial ware. Great buying experience and I can recommend KC 100%."

Kevin stays in contact with you via the phone and internet during the whole process of your purchase...from deciding what you want in terms of use and hardware, how long it will take to assemble and test, the progress on the assembly, any problems and corrections made during testing, the shipping of the computer, and finally after it has been received. "Let me tell you my story. I was looking to have a custom made computer so I sent out multiple emails to various builders, of all the suppliers online. KC Computers is the only one to respond in a timely manner and follow up to my email. For over two weeks Kevin and I discussed what was the right system for me at what budget. Kevin at KC has been very supportive and knowing in helping me put together the system that will meet my needs and be able to upgrade to future advanced components for years to come. "KC Computers is great! Seriously, if you have any doubts about this company, send Kevin an email, and you'll how great the customer service is. Like many other people who have posted reviews, I emailed back and forth with Kevin for over a week before I ordered. He gives great advice, and doesn't try to up sell.
I received my computer quickly and it worked perfect right out of the box. I could not be more satisfied with my experience with KC Computers, and I highly recommend them.

Service is an understatement! When I 1st requested pricing from Kevin it was on a NFL Playoff weekend. Received a reply e-mail within 30 minutes! I guess Kevin is too busy taking care of his customers to be a hardcore NFL fan!
In regards to KC Computer prices, it's pretty solid. As another poster mentioned, you are paying for Kevin's time to build your new rig! You can save money & do it yourself, but it's not "that" much more. I like letting Kevin build it & know that I can call him down the road with any issues & not wait forever for someone to pick-up the phone or reply to an e-mail.
My system was a tad tricky. I had Kevin install a dual-boot operating system (Vista 64 & XP) Guess what? All Windows updates were done, MB BIOS was up-to-date & it booted right up the first time!
There are plenty of shady computer makers on the web looking to "cut corners" were they can to maximize profits. Not the case with KC! You get the parts you want & have Kevin back-it up down the road.
If you're looking for a class company & need a computer built, then look no further, KC Computers is the answer. "

"This place is great! Kevin was very patient, and was very knowledgeable in helping me select parts for my computer. His email responses were quick and useful. There was no pressure to buy, and he had no problem waiting for me to choose parts, or to wait for a new part that was coming out soon. He even helped me narrow down an issue with my computer over email!
Once I place my order, he kept in constant contact during the build to let me know the status of the build, out-of-stock components, etc. Unlike other money grabbing businesses, he didn't charge my credit card until the end (there was a hold on the account from the beginning, but I understand that).
When I received it, it was securely packed with all of the boxes and manuals. It boot up on the second try (a SATA power cable had come loose during shipping). It's been running fast and stable since!
Bottom line: great place! It may not be as cheap as other online parts stores, but you get knowledgeable input, a quality built system, and excellent communication. It beats any name brand out there! I'll update if I ever request post-sale support."

"This is a great place to buy a custom computer just email him what kind of a computer you want(ex. gaming computer,etc.) and he will build it for you and if there is any problem with your computer he goes a great deal to help you solve it. i had a problem with my computer and he help me greatly i found out that there was a loose connection in the computer probably due to the shipping i just replug it and problem solve.been running the computer for 4 months now and not a single problem playing some very intensive game. i'll buy more from him in the future "
"I ordered a very specialized system from KC. In fact, it was just a case and motherboard. This is something you can't order from the big boys and KC handled it extremely well. 3 months later and no complaints."

"To clarify abbreviations and a symbol used in my review, I've listed them with their descriptions below:
"KCC" = KC Computers, "~" = is approximately equal to, "h" = hours, "m" = minutes, "s" = seconds, and "EDT" = Eastern Daylight Time.
Customer Service: 9.7/10
At my request, KCC and I contacted each other only by e-mail. With a respectful and positive attitude, KCC consistently communicated with me seven days a week and answered all of my questions individually.
After collecting data from 12 of my e-mail inquiries and KCC's corresponding 12 replies to my e-mail inquiries, I calculated the amount of time that elapsed between when I sent each e-mail inquiry and when I received KCC's corresponding reply. Here are the results:
Minimum time ~ 3m 54s Average time ~ 2h 29m 36s Maximum time ~ 13h 13m 15s
When I explained my RAM modules choice: "I'm specifying my RAM to be Kingston HyperX DDR2-800 2048MB. I want two of those modules, which would yield 4GB total in 2 RAM slots," KCC responded with: "Kingston HyperX DDR2-800 2GB (2x1GB) $170 x 2." I requested two 2GB modules (KCC's price = $340), but KCC quoted me for four 1GB modules. Although I explained my RAM choice a second time and resolved the misunderstanding, I deduct 0.1 customer service point to equate to KCC's inattentiveness to my first explanation. Current customer service rating = 9.9.
To my request: "If you can use Fed-Ex shipping, then please inform me of your required shipping price for each shipping option," KCC responded with: "UPS Ground Shipping/insurance/packaging (~4 business days) $75." I was interested in using FedEx because I specified the shipping company by name. I don't know if KCC ignored my interest in using FedEx, but I deduct 0.2 customer service point because if KCC couldn't use FedEx, then KCC could've at least stated that FedEx couldn't be used and explained why FedEx couldn't be used. Current customer service rating = 9.7.
I requested KCC to only install MS Windows XP Home Edition and all of the hardware drivers on my computer, and I noticed that the only other software installed was Prime95 (according to Wikipedia, Prime95 can be used to stress test a computer).
Each time that I didn't immediately respond to one of KCC's e-mails, KCC e-mailed me again to ask me if I had received its initial e-mail and demonstrated attentiveness for ensuring uninterrupted customer support.
Pricing of Products and Services: 10/10 Shipping and Packaging: 10/10
I paid $75 for, according to KCC, "UPS Ground Shipping/insurance/packaging (~4 business days)." I'm guessing that "~4 business days" means I should receive my order within approximately 4 complete business days from the shipment day.
June 22, Friday: KCC informs me that it hopes "to ship early next week barring any issues." June 26, Tuesday: KCC notifies me that it hopes "to ship Wednesday after final testing." June 27, Wednesday: At about 2:49 P.M. EDT I receive a KCC e-mail which states that KCC is shipping my order on the same day. July 03, Tuesday: At approximately 4:50 P.M. EDT I receive my order.
If I count Wednesday as an incomplete business day for UPS shipping, then I received my order in 4 complete business days (5 business days if UPS continued to ship my order on Saturday, June 30).
Packaged with my computer were product manuals, unused product parts/accessories, and installation discs for hardware drivers and software programs.
Assuming that KCC does provide lifetime customer service and labor without additional financial cost, then I am completely satisfied with KCC's prices.
Return or Replacement: ?/10
I requested KCC to test all of my computer's hardware including an external hard drive (KCC's price = $150 for a Western Digital 320GB external hard drive) that I also purchased from KCC. I have not encountered any hardware problems, I have not noticed any damages or issues on my computer case, and I therefore have not needed to return or replace anything.
Likelihood of Future Purchases: 10/10
I plan to continue to purchase products from KCC, and I've recommended KCC to the two most important people, excluding myself, in my existence."
