"Usually Home Depot has some good items at good prices. It is often hard to find help in the store, depending on which store I go to, so I have started ordering some items on-line. A recent order was missing a box of lighted Christmas Ornaments. When I called customer service I was told my credit card would be credited and a new box would be sent out immediately and charged to my account. I did get the new box quickly and that was great, but they neglected to tell me that it takes several business days to receive my credit. It would have been nice to know that ahead of time. The woman I talked to after the fact who told me this was a little bit rude about it. I am much less likely to order on-line again."

"I recently ordered some supplies needed for my porch renovations. It is especially useful that there are such a huge selection of woods and types of nails. I had an issue with their delivery, but the customer service was giving me some issues but in the end they were helpful. In terms of price they aren't that bad, but sometimes I can find cheaper stuff elsewhere. Overall I still like it for its reliability."
"Very satisfied with respect to appliance delivery. My appliances (microwave and fridge) came on time, the installation crew was quick and respectful, and everything was installed correctly and works great. My old appliances were hauled away free of charge.
This is the second time I've ordered appliance delivery through Home Depot and each time I've been pleased with the deal and the service. I'd go with them again."
"I ordered a Big Easy Turkey Fryer for in-store pickup. The ordering process was easy and the order was ready for pickup in about an hour. The representative at the customer service desk took a minute to figure out the process for picking up merchandise for an online order. Otherwise, it was a painless experience."
"I ordered a washing machine on homedepot.com 2 weeks ago.(Nov. 12) My order was supposed to be delivered Nov 16, between 11-3. When it did not arrive by 6 pm, we had to leave and since they couldn't "guarantee" delivery, I cancelled my order. It has now been 10 days, AND I STILL DO NOT HAVE A CANCELLATION NUMBER, SINCE IT HASN'T YET BEEN PROCESSED AT THE WAREHOUSE. I ordered it on amex, so they are fighting for me also. "I ordered two bathroom vents from Homedepot.com, they showed as in stock. Once everything went through I got an email stating that the item is back ordered and will be shipped as soon as they get more in stock. Every two week I would get an update stating that they will be getting the item soon. Even the customer service people guaranteed that I should get it by November. Today I got a cancellation email. The weird thing is that I placed an order for a friend of mine hours later than mine for the same item and he got it in mail. This is the second time homedepot has done this. I would think twice before ordering with them online."
"I juust want to say I love home depot. We shop there often. However being in the area where hurricaine Sandy hit everyone was on the huunt for generators. I arrived at home depot right after a shipment of about 20 generators had arived. When I got out of my cars you could tell by the tone and loudness in peoples voices something had happened. I saw one happy woman putting one in her car. I was all excited to maybe get one since I also had been on the same search. When I got in the store thei was a near riot because home depot allowed one person to buy 15 of them so only 5 other people were able to get one(not me). Everyone knew this idiot was going to go and resell them for a profit because everyone around here was desperate to buy one. I was truely disappointed that they allowed this man to buy 15 of them. I actually lucked out and as I was leaveing BJ's wjile stocking up on other supplies They just happened to come out with 8 of them and I ended up getting the same generator for $299 and home depot sold them for $699. AS I said I normally rave about home depot but after that situation, I think they need to rethink their policies especially in this kind of a situation."
"Called Home Depot who outsources to Fast Water Heater Company. What an experience? The best part if you call Fast Water Heater company directly, the prices are CHEAPER than Home Depot. No surprise, as Home Depot needs their cut.
Regardless, they identify all the code requirements and charge you extra fees for code compliance. This was clearly stated when scheduled, but the upsell charges are RIDICULOUS!
Here where they are scamming customers: $89 to install one bare copper wire. Seriously? This costs less then $20 in materials and 5-10 minutes of labor.
Another example, $119 to install 3 straps. Again, maybe $40 in parts and at best 20 minutes to install.
Third example to prove the over-the-top pricing, $39 for a gas sediment trap with is less than $8 in parts from Home Depot and less than 10 minutes to install.
Fourth example, requiring Expansion Tank at $179 when the part retails for $52.50 and you get online for $29.95.
Are these the type of people who deserve your business? Don't get taken by these guys!"
"I am always working on my 1980's home that I am currently updating. My local lumber yards do not cary the products I need on short notice so I have to drive 40 miles to the Poplar Bluff MO homedepot. I very rarely receive good customer service. People are either hard to find, don't know where things are any more than I do, are too busy answering the phone instead of taking care of the person standing at their counter in front of them, or spend more time attempting to get out of work than time it would take just to do it. We were randomly called by a store manager after one of our purchases. My wife explained how she had to wait at customer service for at least 15 minutes while the attendant was answering the phone, developing a long line of waiting customers, and then waited over 30 minutes for a fork lift to load part of our purchase. We did receive 10% of our last purchase, but if I was to bill them for my waiting time, they would have came out way ahead. I would not ever return to this store if I had a local home inprovement store that carried more of my need to have products."
"NEVER EVER ORDER ON LINE WITH NEXT DAY SHIPPING--It is a scam! I ordered a product on a Wednesday, it arrived the next week Tuesday with a UPS ground lable on it. They have now told me that if it arrives in a 5 day window then they have done their job and they have a 3 day processing time frame.Here is the response from Bernard to me via email:
I apologize for the inconvenience of your item,100 ft. 10/3 NM-B Wire in regards to the shipping. After further review, I do show that you were given next day shipping. However the 100 ft. 10/3 NM-B Wire,has a 3 business day processing time,which can not be changed. Once the item has processed for shipping,then it was delivered with the next day shipping option.Since it was delivered with the next day shipping,we were unable to credit the shipping. Once again, I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
3 day processing? It shipped out the next day ground to me, what is the 3 days for processing?
My issue is not with that it takes three days to take a package and get it shipped. My issue is that they take money so that the package will deliver quicker than ground, yet the customer service tells me that next day air was applied according to their rules. From this experience I can only gather that they pocket the extra money from next day service, do their job in getting the package ready to ship that day and could care less about the customer. I guess that they have enough customers and do not mind loosing one or two because online home depot has lost me as a customer. I have had great experiences with the local store and will continue to shop with them but this is a scam. FM"

"Great prices. I flipped a house and figured I would get better prices going other places, but most of what we needed we got from Home Depot. Some places might have had slightly better prices (but on some items the Depot was the best), but the convenience of getting everything at one place saved us time and money."
Homedepot.com is scamming his customers by having them pay for overnight service but booking with UPS ground shipping.
The items where ordered on 10/04, pickedup by UPS the same day but delivery is set 5 days later, Homedepot.com charged for overnight service.
This particular order was send after the cutoff time of11am but the Items still left there Waco,TX Warehouse at 8:15 pm, the UPS tracking shows clearly that the Items where pickup there and scanned at that time. UPS tracking shows as Delivery date 10/09. This is clearly a scam, please spread the word so people dont fall for there illegal business practices, a BBB complaint is in progress.
After contacting Customer Service via email, 2 Agents tried to fool me explaining that it takes up to 3 days to process, i got the receipt from UPS that shows it was processed the same day but delayed transit.
I suspect that Homedepot.com together with UPS have setup this scam scheme in order to Rip-Off money from shipping that the customers book.
"Save your sanity, don't order online. I just completed my fourth online order with Home Depot and it will be my last. I just don't get how in 2102 any organization with an online presence can be this inefficient. First it takes hours before you get an order confirmation email (in this case 8) to receive an email confirmation. Why such a long wait? Then it can take a day or two for your order to be "processed". What is taking so long, Amazon ships the same day almost every time, it seems like Home Depot could at least ship by the next day. Then there is the online order status. Don't expect it to give you any sort of usable information, you may or may not be notified when something ships after waiting for days. I then received my order 6 days after I placed it. That doesn't seem so bad, but it was coming from Maryland to North Carolina, did it really need to take that long. When UPS shows up my heart sinks as I answer the door and there is the driver with the track lighting leaning against his truck. "Is this a track light?" "Yes." "Then I supposed it shouldn't be bent like this." "Nope." The driver said he would take it back with him and I called customer service. But first I took a deep breath, I've dealt with them before. So after a painful discussion I learned that I would get a refund...5-7 days after the item arrives back at the warehouse. The CS rep then placed a new order for a new track light section and I had to pay again. She also informed me that they will once again have to go through "processing" before it ships. The only good thing I can say was that after complaining about how slow their entire process is she did upgrade to overnight shipping for free, but I still have to wait a day (or maybe two given how late in the day it is today) before it will ship. I had to pay for a new section now even though I just got a damaged item that they won't refund me for until they get it back PLUS another 5-7 days. Save yourself the trouble and don't order from Home Depot, it is always a frustrating experience full of slow processing, little information, and crappy returns."
