"I went to the store to buy shutter loks. Home Depot didn't have the grey I needed so the salesman ordered a 12-pack. Shipping was fast (2 days) as promised but I only received an 8-pack from the partner, Tapco Group. Frustrating but Home Depot and Tapco group handled the issue immediately and sent another pack, received again in just 2 days. They did not ask for the original pack back nor send just the shortage, they shipped a new 12-pack. Ideally Home Depot would have stocked all colors in-store, or Tapco would have sent the correct quantity, but despite these issues they made it right in the end without me having to run back to Home Depot."
"I got an ad in the mail for a 10% discount on appliances. Ok, once I talked to someone the truth came out: the price on the ad was the discounted price. That was not clear except at the bottom of the flyer. I had some research that showed that a certain washer was rated quite high and that one was "on sale". I spoke to a great clerk and ordered the washer. When the paperwork arrived from the store the bottom line price was $99.31 HIGHER than the price quoted by the clerk. I called the delivery company to UN-schedule the delivery and they informed me that they would not call me with a delivery date/time until "...no later than 7 pm on the evening before the delivery date." WHAT DATE???? I spent two hours trying to get some answers. Finally I found one: AT LOWE'S. Lowe's matched the sale price and did not charge for delivery like they do at Home Depot. Now comes the battle to get a refund!!! I have spoken to 2 managers who don't seem to remember what the words "I will call you right back" mean. Four phone calls and three different "managers, assitant managers and customer service reps." later, I was told I could come in and have the $700+ refunded to my credit card. I am on my way. HOME DEPOT: NEVER, NEVER AGAIN."
"Great place! I really like that cat!"
"My husband and I were extremely happy with the customer service we received from Jim Weston and his manager, Derek Dell, at The Home Depot in Glendale, AZ. There was a mix-up on the roofing materials we purchased and Jim and Derek did everything possible to resolve the issue in a timely manner. They both came to our house and spent time with us to come to a resolution that was very fair and accommodating. They followed up regularly to make sure we were satisfied with the replacement shingles and the roofing crew they had recommended for the job. Our answer was an enthusiastic, Yes. The roofers, Pat Neil and Robert Fuller did an awesome job. They were very professional, hardworking and clean. Since completion, we have highly recommended The Home Depot, Pat and Robbie to our neighbors and family. "
"The only place in town to find odd sizes of A/C filters which are difficult to find in other home improvement stores at a reasonable price. Also, some filters come packaged in groups of "3" and if the group pack is sold out, HD will sell you 3 singles at the 3 pack value price. They are very accommodating and understanding of your individual needs when it comes to special sized air filters."
"Just ordered a new washer from here and what a difference from Lowes. Great staff and great service. they were great for my purchase."
"I have purchased several small products(No Furnitures or Installation related items), they are in good contion and being used for a long time. I also bought some design-needed materials."
"I bought a couple of ladders (husky) from these guys and it was a mistake. They're built in china and last about as long as anything from china does (not long). Buy American!"
"WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! BEWARE OF HOME DEPOT IN HOME INSTALLATION SERVICES! Please don't just take my word for it. I found these when I was going through hell with Homedepot when they tried to ripp me off on a couple of installations and my elderly mom who is 82 yrs old. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFtspAIsOqshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lEHsspqIfkIf an average handyman or contractor tried to do Home Depot tried to do to me, that contractor would most likely lose their licenses and possibly be brought up on contractor fraud charges. Unfortunately they have a lot of protection with a name Home Depot and shady policys that keep them leaning over the line with out crossing it as far as a court of law may be concerned. But be very careful with them. Luckily they did not succeed in ripping me off but they came close and if I did not know better about building and materials I would have been a victim Shame on them. If you are a contractor BOYCOT them because now they are a competitor. If your just doing work around your house BOYCOT them for ripping off innocent people. They may try to sell you a roof if you don't need one. They may try to do the bait and switch tactic and get you in on one price and charge the hell out of you for any prep work. They will try to get you to pay for prep work to be done when in fact you don't need the work done. They skip out on taking any responsibility for these fraudulent actions by saying that they use subcontactors. But really they are hired through Home Depot are paid by Home Depot, and recieve training by Home Depot so really their subcontractors are just their so the company doesn't have to take responsibility. My advice to anyone is forget about using the kitchen designers to plan your cabinets in kitchens. Good chance they will get the dimensions wrong and/or screw up your order at least once if your lucky. The quality of the materials and merchandise at the Home Depot now sells has slowly but consistently gotten worse. Good luck finding someone who's actually knowledgeable about anything in the department there working. There are a few, but just a few. Don't rely on the website or rely on calling the store prior to going there to check if an item is in stock. The inventory is constantly screwed up. Good chance if you ask an employee to physically go and check to see if the items on the shelf they will lie to you and say it is, when really all they do is look on the computer. The only time you will get any kind of satisfactory customer service is when the district managers are in town. There is at least one condescending arrogant know it all in each department whose knowledge is mediocre at best. Also if you buy something on special order and go there to pick it up they say to call two hours prior to arriving so they could get the order together. Never once have they had the order ready when I had got there. Most times the order was combined with somebody else's order or missing items in my order."
"A disappointment with defective online order issue. I purchased 4 American Standard Champion 4 toilets, one piece online sine it is not available in store. It's rated as the BEST flushing toilet ever! Youtube videos from all contributors seem to corroborate this claim from American Standard. So far, my renovating contractor installed two of them. One worked as expected. The other one in my master bedroom bath does not flush well, at all. In fact, it hardly clear all the water when flushed. Had to hold down the flushed lever to use entire tankful of water to get it to flushed. I called Home Depot online, they said they would refund the purchased price by return it to local Home Depot store. But would not pay for the installation and removal fees of my contractor - that's truly disappointing."
"My husband and I ordered an oven from homedepot.com. We were very pleased with the delivery process. When I called with a question, the woman who answered the phone was very helpful. We received a call the night before scheduled delivery with a 4 hour window. Then we received another call letting us know that our oven would be there in a half hour. The man who delivered the oven was very personable and efficient. I would highly recommend ordering appliances from homedepot.com."
"I have bought multiple items from Homedepot.com this holiday. I find their site easy to use, and I love having a local store available in case their are issues or questions. So far I have not had any issues, but delivery has been prompt and reliable each time. I am very pleased"
"Usually Home Depot has some good items at good prices. It is often hard to find help in the store, depending on which store I go to, so I have started ordering some items on-line. A recent order was missing a box of lighted Christmas Ornaments. When I called customer service I was told my credit card would be credited and a new box would be sent out immediately and charged to my account. I did get the new box quickly and that was great, but they neglected to tell me that it takes several business days to receive my credit. It would have been nice to know that ahead of time. The woman I talked to after the fact who told me this was a little bit rude about it. I am much less likely to order on-line again."
"I recently ordered some supplies needed for my porch renovations. It is especially useful that there are such a huge selection of woods and types of nails. I had an issue with their delivery, but the customer service was giving me some issues but in the end they were helpful. In terms of price they aren't that bad, but sometimes I can find cheaper stuff elsewhere. Overall I still like it for its reliability."
