Lo and behold no air compressors came in for the sale but here is a worthless rain check. Long story short, I called for weeks, jumped through several hoops, all to just be told that they no longer offer this comressor in the store. Complained to corporate asking for the obvious and was told I would be contacted by the correct department within 5 business days. A month later and still no response. I emailed them one last time and still no response. This has not been my first problem with HF, but I assure you it will be my last. Bait-n-switch is illegal! BUYERS BEWARE- DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! YOU ARE ROLLING WEIGHTED DICE!!!"

"Placed an order for a silver tarpaulin that was a really good deal on 11/10/09. No email to confirm the order was sent out. No communication that the order was cancelled and mercandise was no longer available. Shortly afterwards, more stock came in and the price on the website was adjusted and sold out. Now that item is not in the catalog and they refused to do anything to appease the customer. Be warned that they will cancel your order without notice and leave you hanging. Poor customer service and no communications. Companies like this are not long for the world. Buyer beware!"
"I've been buying from Harbor Freight for probably 40 years or more. Lots of hand tools, wrenches, gauges, hacksaw and razor blades, chisels, gloves, hammers, etc. Most of the hand tools are top quality, though I didn't like the quality of the hacksaws.
Most of those purchases were mail order, but since we now have a local store, I make my purchases there.
I regularly recommend Harbor Freight to friends. Their quality is good and their prices are very reasonable. Keep up the good work, Harbor Freight."
"First off, ignore any 1-star reviews below. There was a price mistake, and a few users from a certain deal site that shall not be named got mad when they didn't get a $70 product for $7, and gave Harbor Freight lots of 1s.
I buy from Harbor Freight fairly regularly. Usually in the store, but occasionally online. I've had mostly good experiences with their tools. They're cheap, but not all cheaply made.
For example, I bought an 18-volt cordless drill from them about 6 years ago. It cost a full $20, and finally died just a couple months ago. Sure, it's not the same quality as a Dewalt, but replacing the entire drill (including battery and charger) costs less than just a new battery for the Dewalt. Most of their power tools are that way - they're plenty strong for the casual homeowner (or not so casual - I just used their tools to remodel my home).
Their hand tools, on the other hand, seem to be just about as good as anything you'd buy at Home Depot or Lowes. I've never had one break on me, and I've put a lot of them through their paces.
The store itself is pretty decent. Tends to be messy, and there probably aren't as many people working the registers as I would like, but where is that not true these days? Online is similar - their website isn't very well designed, and shipping tends to be a little slow."

"Really messed up ordering process. I had a couple of orders. This order, for sale item, was canceled for lack of inventory. The second one, half was canceled for lack of inventory (same items as in this order), and I wouldn't have ordered the rest if not for the items canceled. So I paid retail + shipping for something I don't want.
Edit: they are sending me a $10 gift card (instead of refunding the $9 shipping fee). Reasonable compromise so I will adjust my customer service ratings higher."

"I ordered two power extension cords. The shipping was expansive so I throw in a key holder for $1.99 without extra shipping fee. All the products were available online. However, without notifying me, they shipped key holder to me and claimed that the other two items were out of order. The final charge for my order is $1.99 key holder + $11 shipping. I would not have ordered this, they basically tricked me into this order. The customer service was a joke. NEVER ORDER FROM THEM."

"The sent me an email and a postcard stating that my order would come through and then after two weeks sent me a cancellation of my order. The problem is my order was a gift for someone else. Very disappointed that they let me place and order that they didn't have, even more dissappointed that it took two weeks for them to figure it out."
"I have made a few purchases in the past and have always ended up disappointed. Last time I ordered 2 extension cords because they were listed at a great price, I decided to go ahead and throw in a miter saw and drill bits while I was at it. The drill bits were such a joke I had to laugh. 20 of the bits were smaller than toothpicks, some were the width of hair.
The worse part is they cancelled the 2 cords that I wanted and left me to pay for this other crap and shipping. Fool me twice, shame on me. NEVER AGAIN!"
